Lawyer Breaks Down 30 Courtroom Scenes From Film & TV | WIRED - Развлечения
I like how she’s technical but doesn’t take it all so seriously, or get mad at actors for just saying their lines
you could tell she was intelligent enough to appreciate that not only do films and TV want too / have to dramatise court proceedings for storytelling and entertainment, but also just by the language she used she made you aware that she also acknowledged that the actors were playing a character written for them so cannot really be blamed or responsible for any inaccuracies that were portrayed. I loved her! Bring her back!
Yeah, I was waiting for the obnoxious indignation but it happily never came.
Very interesting watching her enjoy some good drama but still share some reality. She rocked it.
Emilia: you really hit the nail on the head. Well said.
You mean she presents herself as rational? Interesting how this stood out as uncommon for so many.
I clicked for the Legal Blonde, I stayed for this brilliant woman

SAME!!

Time stamp?
And she's blonde (legally)...
I love that during all the clips she's fairly neutral in her face, but she smiles through the Legally Blonde one :D

@Mia Jude wow what a creepy and scummy service, basically invading your loved ones right to privacy because of your own paranoia
@@pokaay3163, it’s just spam.
And she likes "A Few Good Men".
Noted :)
While in law school, I had the honor of working with Ms. Lang while I was an intern in the Manhattan DA's Office. She was a fantastic prosecutor and great mentor to me then. Great to see her doing well.
The fact that she's the daughter of actor Stephen Lang makes her even cooler.
That’s cool
Must have been so odd to randomly come across her on RUclips lmao!
Wait, are you "Andrew Dressler" as in one currently employed as an currently Assistant State Attorney?
Good luck
You can tell she’s a lawyer because her neutral “I’m listening and watching” face is flawless. I bet she’s great at poker.
Melissa maybe it seems like that only because they keep pausing her face here
It's called playing the man😉
You tend to have a listening and watching face when you know, you listen and watch lmao... Everyone else had that face dude
@@anniramagui9722 yes this video series has an editing style that pauses the video to play a clip, however all videos include some parts with them watching and reacting
No doubt, I call b.s. when she said shes never seen a witness break, with that face I bet she can break a witness before they even step up to the stand.
I loved her mouthing the line when Jack Nicholson yells, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH." She's just great!
mars girl I laughed so hard at that 😂😂
She's a fan of Jack Nicholson
So do I ❤️😍
Was looking for this comment before posting it myself! YES!

She’s by far one of the best experts on this series along with the CIA chief lady and the speech / accent gentleman
The CIA lady is almost certainly my favorite of the series, she is amazing.
All the women are top-notch in their fields and are entertaining to listen to as well.
Have you seen the robotics guy? ❤
And the surgeon!!!
@@OuzeDH OMG the CIA lady is such a girlboss because the CIA definitely isn't an inherently evil organisation responsible for torturing and murdering innocent people.
I like how she describes incidents based on her own experience. Instead of saying “That’ll never happen” she’ll say “I’ve never had that happen to me.”

I love how much lucy seems to be enjoying watching these. Most professionals in a career that is often misrepresented on tv, just find them annoying, but she looks like she's having so much fun, and loves all these movies, no matter how silly.
I'm going to tell you the truth, I wasn't all that interested in this topic when I randomly clicked on the video, especially when I saw that it was 28 minutes long. I was like, yeah, I'll watch a few minutes of this and see what else I can find. But Lucy's clear joy at what she's talking about makes this impossible to quit watching.
She gets the humor and teaches so much. Also, atleast 80% of the female lawyers had a blonde Bob like hers lol. I guess Hollywood has that down
lmao
Mmala Mokone underrated comment 😂
Mmala Mokone I guess it’s because it’s classy and sassy!
She immediately reminded me of Laura Linney’s character in Primal Fear when the video started. I was so glad they featured it so we could see them juxtaposed next to each other! 😂
So blondes are not dumb then...wonder why people keep saying that
the “objection 🙄” at 26:16 looked almost like muscle memory, as if she forgot she wasn’t in court and was already so done with the other lawyer
D W I know I got a kick out of that
Haha, yeah, and the eyeblinking afterwards! "oh yeah really darling? please spare me."

she did that for the video you cretin
Dutspice clearly you don’t understand the meaning of such high-falutin’ phrases like “looked almost like” and “as if”.
So, y’know... “cretin” yourself. 😏
"Defendant representing himself" got a chuckle out of me, since the defendant is being played by Gerald Butler, who in real life was a lawyer before he became an actor. So he could really represent himself. Hahaha

The book is also absolutely heart-wrenching. It took me a long time to finish because I had to keep stepping away.
Of course everything is about race. We can't take a breath without someone talking about race. We talk about how oppressed black people were historically, but we don't talk about their factual statistics of the crimes committed by said race. It doesn't support people's agenda so they choose to ignore it.

This woman is quite a character in herself.
The way she reacted to the conviction rate thing makes me think that she herself has a very high conviction rate and would never brag about it.
I mean, 100% conviction rate would be rather suspicious - as a software developer, that sounds like "I write error-free code on the first attempted run 100% of the time."; you're either hiding the code that doesn't compile on the first attempt, or you're writing *really* simple programs.
Lucy Lang comes across as so polished and impressive here. Exactly the kind of lawyer you'd want on your

For the To Kill a Mockingbird scene, most of what was cited as incorrect was added in by Hollywood and wasn’t in the book. Most of it was dramatized for the audience to keep it interesting.
I’m grateful that the summation in “A Time to Kill” was accurate because it has always stayed with me.
The movie is pretty faithful to the book, so considering John Grisham studied law (was a lawyer?) most of it should be accurate.

22:50 "the gravity of the charges"
That phrase just put a smile in my face. As a non-native speaker I would have probably used the phrase "the severity of the charges", and in Germany we would say "die Schwere der Anschuldigungen" which verbatim translates to "the heavyness of the accusations". But charges having gravity just made me laugh :D
It’s really fun knowing different languages and the nuances between them. I speak some Spanish and there are certain phrases that make absolutely delighted
In English, gravity has long held the additional definition of "something serious and consequential to the point of concern and necessary evaluation." It's Latin-based. (Also see: gravitas, gravis.)
