Actually they sounded better live than their recordings a lot of times. The Bee Gees are three brothers Barry the oldest in the middle, Robin, long hair no beard and Maurice shorter hair with beard were fraternal twins. If you’re interested in finding out about them, there’s a lot to discover. They wrote and performed over 1000+ songs for themselves and other top artists. Over 5 decades starting in 1958 when they were still children to the early 2000’s. Please react to HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE, a very beautiful song, thank you.
To add a bit; They began performing in 1955, as The Rattlesnakes, when Barry was 9 & Robin & Maurice just shy of 6. 1958, they moved to Australia & were briefly Wee Johnny Hays & the Blue Cats, which is when they met DJ Bill Gates & speedway promoter, Bill Goode. Gates suggested a new name, BG's, after noticing all the BG initials in the room (Bill Gates, Bill Goode, Barry Gibb & mother Barbara Gibb). BG's evolved into Bee Gees & the added "Brothers Gibb" association.
Bee Gees stands for Brothers Gibb. They are from Australia. Also, they had a younger brother named Andy (Gibb) who also had a very successful singing career. Sadly he died of a drug overdose very young. Of the four brother, only Barry, the lead singer, is alive today.
Love the Bee Gees. Barry in the middle, twins Robin on left and Maurice on the right. Barry discovered that iconic falsetto voice while recording in Miami. The producer asked him to do a high harmony. That voice was was born! Was very popular in their disco years. 😅
Nothing makes me happier than to watch yet another person fall in love with The Bee Gees. I’m 64 and I’ve been in love since I was 8. They always considered themselves a soul group, no matter where DJs tried to put them. They are the only group I felt sounds as good or better live than studio recordings.
I always cry when i listen to this song. Can't help it but there is so much love and soul put into it comes from the heart. We need this people. Stop hating, racism, war, we are all equal we need love it's the most powerful thing in the world.
BeeGees basically stands for the 'Brothers Gibb'. Love your reaction! You were completely smitten with Barry and his iconic voice. Couldn't help myself, had to chuckle, been there done that... about 40 years ago. 🌹
They are brothers and grew up singing together their whole lives. Barry, Robin, Maurice and the 4th Brother Andy……amazing!!!!! I LOVE The Bee Gee’s!!!!!!!
One consistent thing in watching influencers react to this particular song isn't just the surprise, it's the pure joy this song gives you when you hear it for the first time. It's close to a perfect song done in totally perfect harmony by the brothers Gibb.
even though I was more into rock and the harder edge stuff, we all knew what The Bee Gees brought to the table. unmatchable vocal talent and what a collection of songs they did of many genres. I am glad some of the younger generation is at least exposed to the old stuff.
They were that good, it's genuine talent. They did this recording in one take and they donated all proceeds to charity. No auto tune, that is just them.
EVERYBODY falls in love with Barry Gibb. He & his twin brothers, Robin (long hair) & Maurice (balding), came out of Australia with their on unique sound & style. Thanks for your reaction.
Barry Gibb, here the lead singer, shared lead with brother Robin (beardless bro) in other songs. Maurice (pronounced MORRIS) is Robin's fraternal twin and occasionally sang lead, but usually shared songwriting duties.and played keyboard, piano, bass, etc. Bee Gees wrote their own hits and very rarely covered other artists songs. May I suggest "How Deep Is Your Love" ( same time as "Too Much Heaven"-- 1977-78). An early(1970-71) hit is "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart." You can see that Barry sings in his natural chest voice and didn't sport a beard until a year or so later
They are my favorite vocal group of all time !!!! No one does harmonies like them !!!! Barry is amazing !!!! as was his brothers. Carpenters were also awesome !!!!
I have watched at least 10 reaction videos of this song, but this has to be my all-time favorite! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the two of you fall in love to the music I was raised on! Mesmerizing performance. They are iconic. You have certainly heard Stayin Alive, its played every 20 seconds somewhere in the world still. They have 19 million monthly subscribers on spotify 60 years after they started performing. Great reaction. Just subbed
How is this SOOO GOOD ? It can't be a coincidence that they are brothers, 3 brothers (2 of whom are twins) is almost as close as you can get to 3 voices that are almost but not quite 1 voice in harmony. they knew each other so well because they were so close. And they worked at it damn hard for many years.
No kidding right. They are downright legends of legends in the 50's60's all the way to 90's. Every corner of the world knows who Bee Gees were as, soon as their names are mentioned. Check them out like they started singing in harmonies way back when they were kids. Today no match can come near them at all. History makers indeed!
The Brothers Gibb are Legendary. Their falsetto harmonies and music defined an Era! Icons! ❤❤❤❤ No auto tune or gimmicks. Just a microphone and incredible talent!
They are the best singers ever. Grew up together singing. Barry, the lead, is going on 50 years married to his wife. They were raised really well by their mom and dad. Brothers singing together all their life. No auto tune, just talent. Try any of their amazing catalog, spanning the late 1950s right through the early 2000s. You'll love it!
If I remember correctly Barry didn't discover his falsetto until they moved to Miami which was several years into their careers. I love all their music my first album was the Saturday night fever soundtrack and I've never stopped loving their music.
Bee Gees….. brothers Gibb Lead singer Barry had that natural falsetto as displayed beautifully in this song. His brothers Maurice & Robin have that natural raw talent to harmonize this beautiful song. This kind of talent is rare & what made the BeeGees music so special.
Rabbit hole time. Staying Alive...you've definitely have heard...How Deep is your Love, Fanny be tender with my love, Jive Talking, Nights on Broadway,...just a few from 70s. Started in 1958, hits from 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s until Maurice's sad passing in 2003. My favourite group forever ❤️
When I was 16 ... back in the 1960's, I had an 8 track player in my Mustang and I rode around listening to the Bee Gees all night every night. Barry ... the one in the middle ... is the only brother still living and yes, he had any girl he wanted. To his honor, though, he has been married to his present wife for over 50 years. He's still breaking hearts and making music, though!!!! I always said if you didn't fall in love with Barry Gibb, something's wrong with you! LOL They wrote all the songs they sang too along with songs covered by many, many other artists!! Welcome to the Bee Gee's!!!
The Bee Gees are one of the greatest groups EVER! You have to go down the rabbit hole of their music. "How Deep is Your Love", "Staying Alive", "You Should Be Dancing" "Fanny, Be Tender with My Heart" , "How Do You Mend a Broken Heart" are just a few of their hits .BTW, the lead singer ,Barry Gibb , has been married to his wife Linda for 52 years . Enjoy!
Most people that know about the Bee Gees choose their commercial-released songs, when most of their best songs were never released as singles. “I Can Bring Love” “Odessa” “' Portrait of Louise” “Give A Hand, Take A Hand” “Lost In Your Love” “Sea Of Smiling Faces” “Kilburn Towers” “The Earnest Of Being George” Their catalog is massive and beautiful. By far the greatest vocalists in music history, their falsetto is the hardest form of vocals a man can sing.
VERY nice to see young people checking-out and appreciating a golden time in our history, and moving out of the narcissism that has been inflicting us. This is what real music is. Note all the musicians in the room, and not just the Bee Gees but everyone playing live together. I won't even get into the superior production of those times. By the way, these 3 are brothers. There is a fourth brother that will extend the journey for you. As for the Bee Gees, the obvious next one to checkout is "How Deep is Your Love", but after that I'd like to suggest a couple of my personal favorites: Night Fever and Love You Inside Out. I'd encourage you and everyone to think about just how different life and culture must have been back then, and why this love, spirit, artistry, etc is missing today. Music is a reflection of the culture which is a reflection of the state of society. Life was light years better in the 70s and 80s.
I went to many concerts in the 1970’s and the ones I saw were pure talent as was The Bee Gees. I saw everyone from Jimi Hendrix, on the front row, to Elton John, to Black Oak Arkansas and Little River Band and Led Zeppelin, just all the rock groups you can imagine and then some. The Bee Gees were one of a kind and I always loved them. Still to this day I listen to my old albums, yes albums and on here. Geez what memories! I’m 72.
They started as kids, becoming famous in the late 60s, wrote more than 1000 songs for themselves and other famous artists. Guinness World Records lists Barry Gibb as the second highest-grossing songwriter in history behind McCartney. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees. Try Stayin alive (you know the song for sure), You should be dancing, Nights on broadway (where Barry discovered his falsetto voice) and Lonely days and To love somebody from the earlier "pre disco"time!
This song is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.
Shocked. You have never seen them before. They ve got so much music that will blow your mind. Stayin alive, how deep is your love, one, alone, words, tragedy, inside and out would be a start
One winter I refinished our basement. Every day I'd come home from work, change into grubbies, and go downstairs. I had borrowed an old cassette tape player and had only 2 or 3 cassettes, which I played constantly while working. One of the tapes was the BeeGees' Greatest Hits. Don't know where I got it, but I got to know each song by heart and so well that at times I had to stop working and just listen and sing along. Amazing blend of voices, amazing solo voices. I had no idea they were brothers or British. I just knew they were awfully good. Have since learned, as happened with (it seems) so many groups, egos got in the way and broke up the band, the chemistry. A shame, but how fortunate we have what they did manage to record together.
You probably know this by now, but they are all brothers (Bee Gee = B G = Brothers Gibb.) They were born on the Isle of Man, off the coast of northern England, and grew up initially in Manchester, followed by Australia, before returning later to England. There was a 4th brother, the youngest (Andy Gibb) who launched a successful solo career and was as much of a heartthrob as Barry. I’m sure there’s a clip of him performing “Shadow Dancing” on here. But he fell into drugs and died young (there’s a clip of them singing “Don’t Throw It All Away” in tribute to him at a concert.) Today, sadly Barry is the only surviving member of the group. The Bee Gees provided a key part of the soundtrack to my life, I was in my late teens when they had their biggest hits. Their perfect harmony and the backing instrumentals are just so smooth and seamless, and Barry’s lead vocals are intense. Their sound is so emotional and intimate, it was the “go to” selection for a romantic date (or should I say, at the end of a romantic date!)
Welcome to the Bee Gees, perfect harmonies, and melodic songs DECADES before anyone invented auto tune. How, you might ask? Talent and lots of practice.
How? By growing up together undoubtedly entertaining themselves by practicing. And you know how siblings' voices blend naturally. They've been big since, gosh, the fifties, guys? When they first started singing in public? Their folks probably trotted them out to perform. NO auto tune, and consider that you can barely notice the twins.. they're like one voice!
Others like yourself, watching for the first time, now have Beegees posters behind them ......those three brothers were kings of harmony. Performed as a trio since they were kids.

What a great time to grow up as a kid back then, I truly miss those days now more than ever before 🤔
Actually they sounded better live than their recordings a lot of times.
@@caroleweitner944 Actually, they are from Manchester England ,moved to Australia while young.
They were from the Isle of Mann later moved to Manchester England , then to Australia
The bee gees have the best harmonies in music period ❤
Lady this is LIVE I was at the studio, but it took one take now thats perfection welcome to the Bee Gees world of loveb❤
Love the Bee Gees. Barry in the middle, twins Robin on left and Maurice on the right. Barry discovered that iconic falsetto voice while recording in Miami. The producer asked him to do a high harmony. That voice was was born! Was very popular in their disco years. 😅
It’s raw talent. Loooong before auto-tune
THIS IS A LIVE PERFORMANCE, ONE TAKE.....AUTO TUNE CAME INTO BEING TWENTY YEARS LATER...PURE GENIUS TALENT.
No auto tune in the 70’s girl…just pure, plain talent 👍❤️I consider myself so blessed to have witnessed it all🙏❤️
Just goes to show you how experiencing what good singing does to a person
Pure tallent and harmony, they are some of the greatest artists ever.
One consistent thing in watching influencers react to this particular song isn't just the surprise, it's the pure joy this song gives you when you hear it for the first time. It's close to a perfect song done in totally perfect harmony by the brothers Gibb.
I'm so glad that a lot of young people are now discovering a lot of these legends. Music back in the days was just 💎💎💎💎
even though I was more into rock and the harder edge stuff, we all knew what The Bee Gees brought to the table. unmatchable vocal talent and what a collection of songs they did of many genres. I am glad some of the younger generation is at least exposed to the old stuff.
I can't phantom someone never hearing ,seeing or knowing anything about the "BeeGees"! Great reaction. Now you know!
Just love when youngins finally hear our music
They were that good, it's genuine talent. They did this recording in one take and they donated all proceeds to charity. No auto tune, that is just them.
Brings back high school memories!! These brothers can flat out sing!!! Brings a smile to your face!!
Amazing!!
EVERYBODY falls in love with Barry Gibb. He & his twin brothers, Robin (long hair) & Maurice (balding), came out of Australia with their on unique sound & style. Thanks for your reaction.
Just imagine the millions who heard it the first time it came out ...the Bee Gees was 'out of this world' just too good and a joy to listen to...❤
Barry Gibb, here the lead singer, shared lead with brother Robin (beardless bro) in other songs.
I react the same way to this song! I feel as if I'm attending a Pentecostal church, hands in the air and feeling it to my soul! Love you two!
This was an extremely genuine reaction and i would rate it the best female reaction that i have ever seen on u tube. Be yourself JayShara. Dont change one little bit.
I love seeing young people loving and appreciating real music from real artists! They're one of my favorite groups! ❤
So glad you really enjoyed this! 😊
The Brothers Gibb are Legendary. Their falsetto harmonies and music defined an Era! Icons! ❤❤❤❤
No auto tune or gimmicks. Just a microphone and incredible talent!
PURE TALENT FROM REAL ARTISTS.
Barry & Linda actually celebrated their 52nd anniversary on Barry's 76 bday....Sept 1st!!🥰
If I remember correctly Barry didn't discover his falsetto until they moved to Miami which was several years into their careers. I love all their music my first album was the Saturday night fever soundtrack and I've never stopped loving their music.
Bee Gees….. brothers Gibb
Lead singer Barry had that natural falsetto as displayed beautifully in this song. His brothers Maurice & Robin have that natural raw talent to harmonize this beautiful song. This kind of talent is rare & what made the BeeGees music so special.
Yes, they sound amazing! Beautiful faces. No autotune.
They were one of the best vocal groups EVER! You need to hear them live!
That voice, that HAIR, that height, that humility…..Barry was a damn dream come true. Married to the same woman for decades!!! 💕💕💕
This is aint autotune folks....This is live talent at its best
The Bee Gees are brothers that have been singing together their whole life ! Absolutely beautiful music !
Sadly, just one of these guys is still living - and all three were very talented singers. Barry Gibb's voice is out of this world!
Shocked. You have never seen them before. They ve got so much music that will blow your mind. Stayin alive, how deep is your love, one, alone, words, tragedy, inside and out would be a start
Also no auto tune just pure talent
This was live in a studio in 1978. 3 brothers with Angel voices. My music. Love my BEE GEES
Others like yourself, watching for the first time, now have Beegees posters behind them ......those three brothers were kings of harmony. Performed as a trio since they were kids.
They’ve written over a thousand songs for various artists. They had one of the biggest selling albums for the movie Saturday night Fever starring John Travolta
BeeGees, were one of the best groups from the 70th. I'm 68 and I remember them very well.
