Welcome to the world of the Bee Gees. Very few groups DOMINATED the airwaves for as long as they did. The Disco era was theirs, the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta was like a list of their Greatest Hits and was a cultural classic, and they churned #1 songs one after another. They were so much on the airwaves that a fatigue set in, and in the backlash that followed, they had to write songs for other artists, and those songs hit #1 as well! That's how talented these brothers were!
And you will not be surprised that so many other black reactors had thought the Bee Gees were black too! It's one of the most entertaining things to watch their face when they see them on the screen for the first time!

No lip syncing - They really were that good & didn't need to lip sync because, unlike some of the boiler plate song singers of today, they practiced singing together for hours every day and had been doing so for years.
Also lip syncing was so frowned upon back then the career of any a singer caught doing it was literally "over". Hell lip syncing was still a big career ending NO NO in 1989, just ask Milli Vanilli.

The BeeGee’s are 3 brothers born in England & later moved to Australia as children. They started singing when they were just young children on radio & local shows. The youngest, Robin, I believe, was only 6 when they started singing together. The Eisley Bros. were quite a few yews before them. Barry is the lead, the oldest & handsome🥰, Maurice & Robin. Their youngest brother came along some years later. His name was Andy Gibb who came very famous & had his own TV variety show here in America. Check him out, you will note the similarities of tones. It was said they were the only singing group that had perfect harmonizing tones probably because of their relationship as siblings. This was written about. I grew up in that era & we loved them!! They wrote & sang just abt all the music for the movie “Saturday Night Fever”. Barry has written countless songs for other artists up to modern times & they wrote just abt all their own songs & lyrics. Maurice, I believe, died during a routine surgery back in or around 2003 & Robin died around the 2012 time frame I believe from heart problems. Barry & his wife have just now celebrated their 53rd anniversary & have 4 sons & finally their last baby was a girl much to everyone’s delight! Barry is totally lost without his brothers, they were all so close & came Crome a close-knit, hardworking family background. They lost Andy in his late 20’s to drug addiction after trying clinics, interventions, etc. unfortunately. Totally broke their hearts, they tried so very hard to do everything that they could do to help him get free of that addiction. They were all quite wealthy at the time & could afford the best clinics & help. They even isolated him in his country estate in England to keep him away from getting drugs. Such a talent gone way too soon leaving a heartbreaking family behind. Sad. Look up pictures of them, Andy joined the BeeGee’s for a time as a teen, became an over nite idol & eventually went solo.
BeeGee’s stands for the Brothers Gibb.

Record Producer Arif Mardin asked Barry if he could “scream in tune” during the main chorus of the song, Barry said “he'll try”, did it and…the rest is Bee Gees History.

i really enjoyed this reaction. I’m a girl of the 70s. This is such a beautiful song. The Bee Gees were the 3 brothers of course, all with such beautiful harmonies that sounded like a full chorus. Here are a few more of their lesser-known gems to check out: Fanny Be Tender With My Love, I Started a Joke, and How Do You Mend a Broken Heart.

Guinness World Records lists Gibb as the second highest-grossing songwriter in history behind McCartney. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees.

The first time I heard them on the radio was the late 60s. I wasn't even 10 years old and thought they were great.
Then in the late 70s they cranked out a lot of great hits and made the movie Saturday Night Fever a huge success. The rest is history.

I just love it when I see someone react to the Bee Gees for the first time. I was around when they first brought the world their beautiful music and I have them still on all my playlists. Good music never dies. Love your reaction.

They seldom did second takes and sang in harmony live with no autotune. They were phenomenal live.

I'm an old woman and I can assure you they could and did sing like that live.they started as little kids on Australian T.V. what you don't seem to know is the great respect we Aussies have for black American music , we are a small population but you will find exponents of blues, jazz, r&b ect.all the way to rap and back . ❤
