They are allowed to do magic outside of school for their summer homework! Harry has the problem that his family doesn't allow him to do magic and so he has to do his homework hiding. That's why he was under the bed in the middle of night doing Lumos Maxima. Uncle Vernon just interrupting him, just gives you a picture how much harder he has it than other students...

Best health prayers for your family..🙏...
Dork.. you're rapidly becoming a favorite reactor... you're very perceptive and recognize items some older reactors don't..like the shrunken heads..lol... you're also able to retain names of things and pronounce them...the editing was so well done I think you've found your niche !...
      A little trivia..
Sirius Black...a member of the Black family..the dog constellation is called Sirius...hence the name representing a black dog...JK Rowling was very clever..as always with her words (the mirror in the first HP movie was Erised..the mirrored reverse of desire)...
The map was made by 4 school magicians..their nick-names Mooney (Lupin) Prongs (Potter) Padfoot (Black) Wormtail (Pettygrew)...that's why Professor Lupin knew how to use it...the school mate Pettygrew (rat) betrayed the circle of friends...because Lupin had been attacked as a youngster by a werewolf they all studied to become an animagus to keep him company during the full moon..the werewolf would attack humans but wasn't a fighter of other animals unless provoked...
The whomping willow was put on the school grounds with an underground tunnel to the shrieking shack..rumored to be haunted due to the sounds the group created to keep others away and a safe place for Lupin...the help Harry's mother gave Lupin.. referred to by Lupin on the bridge..was an elixer she created to help postpone his transformation...
The protonus charge creates a creature image regarding the users character traits.. in this case Harry's is a stag...
Always fun to watch.. I'll see you in the next reaction...🌿🌿🌿

Hi its me again so you know as again they over do Hermione, she didnt whatsoever say while standing you have to kill us 2. It was Ron, once again brave in the books, he stood on his broken leg defending his best friend saying if you kill Harry, you got to kill us too. Thus showing his TRUE brave loyality to his friends. That is why need him around he is a true loyal friend tho more Hufflepuff quality. Like me but you saw his braveiness so in the end glas was in Gryiffindor. But there is more too it in the books Snape reveals to Harry that James Potter his dad, and his friend Sirius told James to lure Snape into the Whomping Willow to trick hi m into it. But before James realized this is not good he didnt want Snape to die tho they were enemies James risked his life to counter balance what he did or tried to do and saved Snape from Lupins transformation. Snape saved Harry during the game due to James saved him though Snape said it wasnt Heroic it was just out of spite or so. That is why Snape hates Harry is because he hated his dad. BUT Two way street the later books goes further between James and Snape, which is simular to Harry and Draco. Why the books you need to listen to and read it goes more in depth.
Moony is Lupin Wormtail is Peter, Padfoot is Sirius, and Prongs is James, they behind Dumbledores back did a illegal transformation that no one knows about and Lupin lied to Dumbledore and he also resigned due to him feeling ashamed he didnt have the guts to tell his friends not to do that or lie to Dumbedore when Dumbledore made the tree to protect the students when Lupin transformed. But though James has flaws like all and he does more in other movies. Id tell later book from the movie that dont tell it. In this James hated Snape . Snape hated James like Draco and Harry did when meet. Just one of them things each Did things to each other. But more to it for later. But James befriended each due to a reason in this story i will tell this since about Lupin and Peter id save the Sirius if i remember until later movie. Lupin he befriended seeing LUpin as a outcast no one liked him and thought he was weird so James though has his issues id tell later befriended him, accept him as his friend when no one else did. He befriend Peter because he was a weak not cool non good look person no one liked so James though how he is id tell later if recall befriend him so he had a friend. So his betrayal is really bad seeing as no one liked Peter, but James though flawed as he is mention later seen him as a friend dispite being how he was. Saw good in Peter. Which makes betrayal even worse.
Also there is a deleted scene Ron woke up to Sirius over him with a knife which got McGonagal to enter the dorm and there was blood everywhere the deleted scene shows he got in and Neville had passwords written out that is how he got in. More later. Oh when Harry fought the Dememntors Hermione was there he told her to think happy thoughts but she was too scared like the Troll and passed out. So Harry felt alone and that during the spell and Sirius on ground. Plus later The Minister and Snape was furious Sirius escaped and Snape said to the Minister of Magic it was Harry he snucked out and freed them but Pomfrey the nurse and Dumbledore said they never left the Dorm so Snape went freaked out the Minister said he gone mental. Dumbledore was like no he just disappointed.

One of the things that was left out of the movie but was in The Prisoner of Azkaban novel is that James Potter (Harry's father), Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew were the original inventors of The Marauders Map. That is the reason why Professor Lupin knew how to use it. When the original Marauders were students in Hogwarts they were all best friends. When James, Sirius and Peter found out that Remus is a werewolf they decided to become Animagus (wizards that can willfully magically turn into an animal just like Professor McGonagall can turn into a cat) because werewolves don't attack other animals and Remus' friends didn't want him to be alone during the full moon period. This is why the map reveals the weird names when you use the "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" spell. They were the nicknames of the Marauders. Mooney is Remus Lupin because he is a werewolf. Padfoot is Sirius Black because his animagus form is a dog. Wormtail is Peter Pettigrew because his animagus form is a rat. And James Potter is Prongs because his animagus form is a stag.
Dumbledore knew about Remus' condition and how Remus became a werewolf when he was only a very small child. So he had the Womping Willow tree planted and had a tunnel put in so that Remus can hide in the Shrieking Shack during the full moon cycle.

This still annoys me so much, what’s the excuse for this one? People say ‘Hermione is the smart one so they wanted to give her all the lines explaining things’ so why on earth is this line given to Hermione when Ron says this exactly? It’s stupid because it’s the fact he stood on his broken leg to block Harry and say that because that’s who Ron is, and his and Harry’s friendship in this way is supposed to mirror James and Sirius’ friendship and this flashes in Sirius eyes, they really do him dirty

When she does so, she goes into a trance and blurts out a prophecy. When it's over, she is unaware of what she has done. Those are examples of Harry's sass in the books (from year 1 to year 6) :
“No, thanks," said Harry. "The toilet's never had anything as horrible as your head down it- it might be sick." Then he ran, before Dudley could work out what he'd said

“I know what day it is,” sang Dudley, waddling toward him. “Well done," said Harry. "So you’ve finally learned the days of the week.”

“Pity you can’t attach an extra arm to yours, Malfoy,” said Harry. “Then it could catch the Snitch for you.”

“Congratulations, Harry!” she said, beaming at him. “I wonder if you could give me a quick word?” “Yeah, you can have a word,” said Harry savagely. “Good-bye.”

"Listening to the news! Again?" "Well, it changes every day, you see," said Harry

We know you're up to something funny,' said Aunt Petunia.
'We're not stupid, you know,' said Uncle Vernon.
'Well, that's news to me,' said Harry.

'Cool name,' said Harry, grinning and falling into step beside is cousin. 'But you'll always be "Ickle Diddykins" to me.'
'I said, SHUT IT!' said Dudley, whose ham-like hands had curled into fists.
'Don't the boys know that's what your mum calls you?'
    'Shut your face.'
'You don't tell her to shut her face. What about "Popkin" and "Dinky Diddydums", can I use them then?'

'Yeah? Did he say you look like a pig that's been taught to walk on its hind legs? 'Cause that's not cheek, Dud, that's true...'

Running to Daddy now, are you? Is his ickle boxing champ frightened of nasty Harry’s wand?” “Not this brave at night, are you?” sneered Dudley. “This is night, Diddykins. That’s what we call it when it goes all dark like this.”

“Manners, Potter, or I’ll have to give you a detention,” drawled Malfoy, whose sleek blond hair and pointed chin were just like his father’s. “You see, I, unlike you, have been made a prefect, which means that I, unlike you, have the power to hand out punishments.” “Yeah,” said Harry, “but you, unlike me, are a git, so get out and leave us alone.”

Narcissa Malfoy smiled unpleasantly. “I see that being Dumbledore’s favorite has given you a false sense of security, Harry Potter. But Dumbledore won’t always be there to protect you.” Harry looked mockingly all around the shop. “Wow…look at that…he’s not here now! So why not have a go? They might be able to find you a double cell in Azkaban for your loser of a husband!”

“Harry, don’t go picking a row with Malfoy, don’t forget, he’s a prefect now, he could make life difficult for you…” “Wow, I wonder what it’d be like to have a difficult life?" said Harry sarcastically.

“Yeah, Quirrell was a great teacher. There was just that minor drawback of him having Lord Voldemort sticking out of the back of his head!"

This is your copy of Advanced Potion-Making, is it, Potter?” “Yes,” said Harry firmly. “Then why,” asked Snape, “does it have the name ‘Roonil Wazlib’ written inside the front cover?” Harry’s heart missed a beat. “That’s my nickname,” he said. “Your nickname,” repeated Snape. “Yeah... that’s what my friends call me,” said Harry. “I understand what a nickname is,” said Snape.

    “ You’re dead, Potter.”
Harry raised his eyebrows.” Funny” he said, “you’d think I’d have stopped walking around…”

“Well, I’m terrified now,” said Harry sarcastically. “I supose Lord Voldemort’s just a warm-up act compared to you three - what’s the matter?” he added, for Malfoy Crabbe and Goyle had all looked stricken at the sound of the name.
“He’s a mate of your dad, isn’t he? Not scared of him, are you?”

“You wait. I’ll have you. You can’t land my father in prison -
“I thought I just had,” said Harry.

“You may wear that scar like a crown, Potter, but it is not up to a seventeen-year-old boy to tell me how to do my job! It’s time you learned some respect!” “It’s time you earned it." said Harry.

“Do you remember me telling you we are practicing nonverbal spells, Potter?” asked Snape
    “Yes,” said Harry stiffly.
    “Yes, sir.”
“There’s no need to call me ‘sir,’ Professor”
The words had escaped him before he knew what he was saying

Dumbledore and Snape knew Lupin was a werewolf, but the parents of the students didn’t - so when that information was “leaked”, they freaked out. Snape famously wants to be the Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher every year, so he was unimpressed that Lupin (bit of a nomad, a werewolf, and someone he didn’t get along with in school) got the job. Snape knew because Dumbledore asked him to brew the potion each month that helped calm Lupin in werewolf form. Sirius asks Lupin if he took the potion when the moon appeared from behind the clouds - clearly, Lupin had not.

Hi Cole! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one as it's my absolute favourite! I was so excited for your reaction to it and you didn't disappoint at all. As always, I've listed a few clarifications and explanations to the things you mentioned during the reaction below. No spoilers.
1 - No Harry isn't meant to use magic outside of school. The movie just neglected that very important point for the sake of a badass title screen haha
2 - Harry was really triggered by Aunt Marge dissing his parents. His use of magic was accidental due to his high emotional state. You're right. The guy has been through some shit at this point and he's totally over it. Coupled with being a teenager, he's just done.
3 - Harry accidentally (but very conveniently) summoned the Knight Bus by sticking his wand arm out at the kerb when he fell over.
4 - The kids didn't fight back against the Dementor on the train because they've never even seen one before and warding them off is far more advanced magic than they've been taught yet at that stage. The Dementor also makes you feel hopeless and depressed, making it harder to cast spells against them. They're difficult to deal with. The fact Harry can cast a patronus at his age is far more impressive than they make out in the movie. Chocolate is given after an encounter with Dementors because it releases 'happy' endorphins in the brain and counteracts the depressing feeling left over by the Dementors.
5 - “Sirius Black must be ‘top dog’ of this evil wizard world.” - LOL
Had to throw that in for your choice of words. Oh, he's a top ‘dog’ all right haha
6 - It's not explained at all in the movie (weirdly so) that the Marauder's Map was created by Harry's dad and his 3 best friends while they were at school. Prongs is James Potter (who was a stag animagus) - Moony is Remus Lupin (a werewolf) - Padfoot is Sirius Black (a dog animagus) - Wormtail is Peter Pettigrew (a rat animagus). James, Sirius and Peter secretly became animagi (wizards who can turn into an animal) during their school days so they could keep Lupin company when he transformed every month. Hence all of Snape's hints during the Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson about werewolves and animagi.
7 - The Whomping Willow was planted while Lupin was at school to guard a secret passageway to the Shrieking Shack. Every full moon the matron, Madam Pomfrey would give Lupin a Wolfsbane potion so he could retain his own mind during transformation and take him to the Shrieking Shack for the night, so he could transform in secret away from the main school and then collect him the following dawn. No students could get to him because of the Willow. Except for James, Sirius and Peter, who could slip past the tree as animals.
8 - Lupin didn't realise Sirius was innocent until Harry mentioned seeing Peter on the Marauder's Map.
9 - Peter looks especially rat like due to the fact he'd spent 12 years disguised as one. However, a wizard's animal form reflects who they are physically as well as their personalities. Professor Mcgonagall’s (cat lady) animagus form shows spectacle-like markings around its eyes and it sits stiffly. Just like her.
10 - The Dementors don't pick up well on animal emotions and life forces, that's how Sirius managed to escape Azkaban and break into Hogwarts because he could transform into a dog and slip past them unnoticed in that form. Peter could also slip past them as a rat. Besides, Dementors don't care about who's innocent or not. As Dumbledore said, they don't differentiate between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. By the way, Sirius escaped prison and broke into Hogwarts after seeing the picture of the Weasley family on holiday in Egypt. The one that was in the Daily Prophet newspaper. He saw the rat on Ron's shoulder and knew it was Peter and wanted revenge. He tried to get into Gryffindor tower knowing Peter was most likely to be in Ron's bedroom.
11 - Mcgonagall had to apply to the Ministry of Magic for a time turner for Hermione, so yes, Dumbledore knew all about it. All the staff did, which is why they didn't punish her when she just appeared slightly late in their lessons. In the third year, students have to choose a certain amount of elective classes and Hermione wanted to do them all, but there were too many to fit into her timetable. Under very special circumstances, the Ministry will allow the use of a time turner, but it's under strict monitoring and control by the staff and by the Ministry. Hermione was a top student and trustworthy so they allowed her to use one for her academics, but she couldn't just keep it. It belongs to the Ministry and she would've been required to hand in it immediately at the end of term. Also, messing with time is very dangerous as both Dumbledore and Hermione herself stated. Not something they'd want to be doing often.
11 - Patronuses take 2 forms. One is the simple shield that Harry first conjured. This is called a non-corporeal patronus and is the weakest form. Many wizards can only manage this version, if at all. The second is a corporeal patronus which is much more powerful and takes on the form of an animal. They are usually reflective of the wizard's personality or the person the wizard loves most (represented as an animal). Any wizard who is an animagus would likely have a patronus matching the animal they turn into. Harry's is a stag because he's a lot like his father and his father is also his hero. James was a stag animagus and his patronus was also a stag. Harry didn't know this consciously. It just came from a more profound and spiritual place in his subconscious.
12 - No, there is no cure for Lycanthropy. Lupin was bitten as a child and had been a werewolf ever since. The only thing they can do is make the Wolfsbane potion which allows him to keep a human mind when he transforms. Snape had been brewing it for him but he forgot to take it that night due to his panic about Sirius, Peter and Harry. That's why he was so vicious and out of control. All the faculty knew Lupin was a werewolf. Many of them had taught him when he was at school himself. But the parents and kids didn't know. Werewolves are very looked down upon by wizarding society out of fear and revulsion. That's why Lupin resigned after the rumour got around. Yes, the Defence Against the Dark Arts postion is cursed. Rumour has it that Voldemort applied for the position twice and was rejected, so he put a curse on the job so no teacher lasts very long.
Great reaction, Cole! I loved every second and I'm very much looking forward to the next!

One more detail, being an animagus is very hard and it needs to be informed that you are one and which animal your transform to. James, Sirius and Peter is not registered in the ministry about being an animagus. That's why Sirius was able to tranform into a dog and escape from Azkaban.

Following along with the film again. haha
    1. Yeah, Harry is not supposed to be using magic at the Dursleys. A movie mistake.
    2. One significant magical creature in the lake next to Hogwarts is a giant squid, but it never shows up in the films. It is in the Hogwarts Legacy game, though.
    3. "Sirius must be top dog." You got that right. hahaha
    4. Animagus- a wizard who can turn into an animal. McGonagall is also one, as she can turn into a cat.
    5. The story of the Marauders got supremely neglected by the film. Lupin was turned into a werewolf as a small child, and Dumbledore bent some anti-werewolf rules to allow him to come to school. They kept him being a werewolf a secret, and made a secret tunnel that went to the Shrieking Shack, where he could safely transform on full moon nights and not hurt students, the Hogwarts end of the tunnel being protected by the Whomping Willow. However, Lupin's friends James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew figured out that he was a werewolf, and learned how to become Animagi to safely stay around him when Lupin went werewolf. They also invented the Marauders Map together.
    6. Dementors don't care about guilt or innocence. They are creatures of pure decay and vileness, and only desire to have a couple hundred victims locked up in Azkaban with them to drain energy from, no matter if they actually are criminals or not.
    7. Hermione got her Time-Turner because she signed up for ALL the elective classes, so McGonagall arranged with the Ministry of Magic to give her one. However, all the extra classes made Hermione near hysterical in the book, as it was too much workload even for her, so in the end she drops a couple classes and goes back to a normal schedule.
    8. A fully formed Patronus is meant to take the form of an animal. For some reason in the film they only show a flash of Harry's, but his Patronus takes the form of a Stag, or male European deer. It was the same animal that Harry's father James turned into as an Animagus.

There's a reason Harry has to go home to the Dursley's every year for the summer. And for some reason of its own, it's never touched upon in the movies. Essentially, because Petunia is his mother's sister, and his mother Lily's love placed a shield on him the night she sacrificed herself for him when Voldemort tried to kill him, and as long as he calls the Dursley's home his own - he's protected there. Believe it or not, Petunia loved her sister, and she does love Harry too.

    • @iDontShareMyData
      @iDontShareMyData 9 месяцев назад +7

Hmmm.... "Love" is a strong word. Let's just say Petunia reluctantly "owns" her responsibility to protect her sister's son. (even though Dumbledore has to remind her of this at one point in the books) Lily cast the sacrificial charm of protection, and the charm remains in Harry's blood, preventing Moldywart from killing him, so long as he calls Home a place where his "mother's blood" (Petunia) lives.

Getting To Know You Fact: In order to acquaint himself with his three lead actors and actresses, director Alfonso Cuarón had each of them write an essay about their characters, from a first-person point of view. Emma Watson, in true Hermione fashion, went a little overboard and wrote a sixteen-page essay. Daniel Radcliffe, like Harry, wrote a simple one-page summary, and Rupert Grint, like Ron, never even turned his in.

The two eldest Weasleys, Charlie (Richard Fish) and Bill (Alex Crockford, who was replaced by Domhnall Gleeson for the two "Deathly Hallows" movies) were uncredited.

"No, Harry!" Hermione gasped in a petrified whisper; Ron, however, spoke to Black.
"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" he said fiercely, though the effort of standing upright was draining him of still more color, and he swayed slightly as he spoke.

Harry’s patronus is a stag just like his father’s. Notice the huge horns. Marauders’ Map: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs = Lupin, Pettigrew, , Black and Potter. Lupin confined himself to the shrieking shack when the moon was at the full and he turned into a werewolf. The others decided to become animagi to keep him company. Peter Pettigrew chose a rat as his form because he would be small enough to crawl up under the whomping willow and push the knot that caused it to freeze and not attack so that they could go inside the shack. Also, it unfortunately stood him in good stead to be a part of Ron’s family and still be at Hogwarts. Rita Skeeter, you will meet her in the next film, is also an animagi, a beetle.

The teachers did know that Lupin was a werewolf but the parents probably weren't too pleased when Snape told everyone about it. Werewolfs are not very welcome in wizard society and face a lot of discrimination and even though the wolfsbane potion has allowed them to safely transform and not lose their mental capacity for a few years now not much has changed. Lupin usually takes it (Snape brews it for him, it's pretty difficult to make) but he saw them and Sirius on the map that night and went after them. When Snape arrived with the potion Lupin was gone but he forgot to blank the map so Snape saw where they were and followed them too. It is implied that lycanthropie gets worse over time and is not even considering the social stigma a pretty debilitating illness.
As the film failed to make it clear, the map was created by Harry's dad, Sirius, Lupin and Peter in their time at school. Their names were hints as to their respective animal forms. James=stag=Prongs, Sirius=dog=padfoot, Lupin=werewolf=Moony and Peter=rat=wormtail. The other three became animagi after they found out about Lupin's lycanthropy to help him cope (the wolfbane potion wasn't invented yet) during his transformation. Lupin usually was brought to the shrieking shack during the full moon and they planted the Womping Willow on the entrance so he couldn't escape. Dumbledore spread the rumours that the shrieking shack was haunted to explain howls and noises Lupin woukd make while transformed.
What was also a bit confusing is that the movie didn't explain that a perfect executed patronus would take on the form of an animal. That's why Harry saw the stag before he fainted at the lake. It's amazing that Harry's patronus is a stag like his dad's animagus form even though he didn't even know that at the time of his first coporeal patronus :)
And I still don't get why they made Harry do magic at the beginning only to confirm a few minutes later that it is indeed forbidden to do magic outside of school ;D

Time travel in the books was stated to be a very dangerous thing to do. You run into the risk of destroying oneself because you’d think it’s dark magic and destroy your future self. The thing the film did very bad is concerning the patronuses. In the books patronuses have a shape of animal, it's kind of totem. Every wizard or witch has a different animal as patronus form. Harry's and James' patronuses were stags, Hermione's one was an otter and so on. So Harry kinda really did see his dad at the lake, his dad who lives within Harry himself

I know this is a favorite, and it has its beautiful moments. It’s cinematically dynamic and creative. But I do dislike how many changes make the story unnecessarily confusing lol. Dementors always sucking out Harry’s soul is a simple way of showing their power, but it makes no sense narratively.
Showing the patronus as an animal once is effective emotionally, but isn’t consistent with the spell we’ve been seeing. Even Harry practicing magic at home is portrayed as fine, as long as no one sees it, even though it’s a major plot point throughout the series. Works if you’re more about vibes than plot which… I generally am not lol.

Okay, so this isn't explained well in the movie, but Harry's dad and his friends made the Marauders map: Moony (Remus Lupin), Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew), Padfoot (Sirius Black), Prongs (James Potter). They're the Marauders. Essentially, Lupin was bitten and started turning into a wolf and the other three learned how to turn into animals in order to be with him on the full moon, without getting eaten. That's also why the shrieking shack has it's name (he was locked in their turning into a wolf/howling, etc) and why Dumbledore planted the Whomping Willow (to keep people out. Animals could sneak through and push a bit that stops it moving for a moment, I believe).
Snape has... history, and also just thinks it's crazy unsafe to have a werewolf teacher who could forget to take his potion (that he has to make for him) and go haywire on some kids. He also knew Lupin and Sirius were super close, and assumed Sirius was guilty and that Lupin would help him into the castle, endangering everyone, including Harry.

lycanthropy (aka being a werewolf) isnt something to be cured as its not an illness but a race of people who have a wolf form. In the HP world its a tiring and painful process but there is a complicated potion to ease the experience and keep youre mind a bit clearer. To keep Lupin company on fullmoons, James, Sirius and Peter learned to become animegi. In their animegus form, they kept werewolf Lupin, affectionately nicknamed Moony, company. James was a Stag called Prongs, Sirius is a dog called Padfoot and Peter is a rat called Wormtail. *[This is why Harrys potruns takes the form of a Stag]* The four of them called themselves The Meraurders and those were their nicknames; together they pulled pranks and made The Meraurders Map. The map was eventually confiscated by Mr. Filtch and stayed in his office until one year, two mischieves Weasly Twins snuck in to get their own confiscated items back and found it. The map has the personalities of the Meraurders and insult or joke with anyone who activates it. So in a way, the Twins knew Harrys father and godfather for years.

Speaking of werewolves, I don't know if anyone has already explained this, but:
Lycanthropy, the disease that causes someone to become a werewolf, is incurable.
It is caused by the bite of another werewolf, and this is what happened to Lupin in his youth.
The only way is the so-called Wolfsbane Potion.
This is a potion that does not remove lycanthropy, but alleviates its effects.
Its effect is that although it does not stop the wizard's transformation into a werewolf, it allows him to retain his human mind during the transformation, which makes him harmless to other people, but he still turns into a werewolf every full moon.
Because without this potion, as we heard in the movie, the werewolf after the transformation does not remember who he is and will kill anyone who gets in his way, even his best friend.
However, this mixture is very complicated, so only few people can prepare it, and the ingredients are very rare and expensive, so not everyone suffering from lycanthropy has access to this mixture.
At Hogwarts, Lupin received a potion from Snape because Dumbledore promised him this when hiring him as a professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Lupin himself owed a great debt of gratitude to Dumbledore because he allowed him to study at Hogwarts despite lycanthropy and tried to keep his illness a secret.
During Lupin's studies at Hogwarts, apart from Dumbledore, only his friends James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew knew about his condition, and Snape accidentally found out about it.
It is also worth mentioning that lycanthropy in Harry Potter is something like lepers in ancient times.
The point is that such people were shunned, avoided, disgusted by society, which is why many patients faced social ostracism, exclusion and misunderstanding, so the lives of such people were usually difficult (especially if they did not have access to Wolfsbane Potion).
There was also a group of wild werewolves who shunned humans and stayed in their own groups.
They retained their animal form for longer and even after transforming into humans, their bodies were much hairier.
Wild werewolves were also much more cruel and often deliberately attacked and bit other people to infect them with lycanthropy, which is how Lupin was infected as a child, bitten by a wild werewolf.

Huzzah!! Cole! I am excited you're keeping up with this franchise. I liked this book when I read it because of the darker tone. The overall story of HP is quite dark when you think about it. A lot of new characters I like were introduced here. Thanks again for doing this! Nostalgic feelings and memories of my dad!

JK Rowling explained that the time-travel concept in this movie is based on a paradox. So, there aren't "alternative timelines" where Buckbeak died or something. Everything happened just the way it's always meant to happen.

It’s darker but I think it is also sweeter. He meets people who loved his parents. He finds he has a godfather who loves him. His friends go hard for him. After so long alone and unloved he has true family. It’s the reason PoA is my favorite.

Lupin knows about the map because he along with Sirius, Harry’s dad & Peter WROTE THE MAPbut they decided to leave that detail along with other expositions out of this movie installment. Since I am watching this well after you have watched all the Harry Potter films, I feel okay to add share that, yes, Snape was the one to make sure that everyone learned that Lupin was a werewolf at the end of the movie. By the way, the name Remus Lupin was also a big clue all along. Snape’s history with Harry’s father and his friends was some pretty good justification for Snape letting Lupin’s secret leak out. James Potter and his gang of friends definitely bullied Snape during his school years. You know how they say that kids who are bullied often become bullies. And I think you can apply this in Snape’s case. But there was one incident in particular where Sirius took the bullying of Snape too far. Without going into all the details, he basically put Snape in a situation where he was going to end up confronting Lupin in his werewolf form. James Potter learned about it and sort of came to Snape’s rescue in that situation. Snape could easily have been turned into a werewolf or even killed by Lupin that night. Dumbledore made Snape promise to keep Lupin’s condition a secret at that time. And this only added to the resentment and bad blood between Snape and Potter and his gang. In spite of all that history, Snape did faithfully brew a potion for Lupin during this year of Lupin returning to teach at Hogwarts. It was something not available yet when Lupin was a student. The Wolfsbane potion kept Lupin safe during the full moon phase as long as he took it regularly. He would still feel under the weather during that time, which is why Snape had to teach for him that time he assigned the paper on werewolves. Lupin forgot to take his Wolfsbane potion the night he turned into a werewolf with all of the stuff that was going down. Snape never felt that it was safe to have a werewolf teaching at Hogwarts and after that night he felt justified in making sure that the students, parents and other teachers found out. Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the best movies in the Potter franchise. But they did leave out a lot of interesting details from the story that you get when you read the book.
