Great ereader, but I was hoping for at least 4 GB RAM. I don't understand why manufacturers think that a physically smaller device must be inferior in its specs. Sure, it is enough for simple reading, but a full Android reader needs more than 2 GB if users want to browse the web and use apps.
I think you miss the point- this isn’t a Note 6. Specs are still superior to both Kindle and Kobo 6” readers, the SD Slot makes it expandable, and it doesn’t limit you to either ecosystem. This could still be the “killer app” for people who hate being locked into one vendor’s library and content pricing.
@@steverolfecaYou don't understand thst this runs Android. Kobo doesnt. You didnt refute any of his points that Android requires more than 2GBs to run smoothly browsing the web
@@chiquita683 sorry, let me clarify- traditionally, conventional e-readers have been useless for web browsing. People used to using e-readers for a single specific task (to carry “a library in their pocket”) already use other devices for web browsing. They will be fine with 2GB RAM.
@@chiquita683 let me try and clarify once more: this is not a pen tablet. *Damn shame it hasn't got a pen, I've been looking for an e-ink **_'jotter pad'_** I can fit in my pocket and pull out while walking.* So far the smallest I can find is the Mobiscribe Origin, but by the time you've added the case it's not really that small with its 6.8" screen. If they had held a stylus in the spine of the case it might have helped, but a 6 inch device to jot down thoughts with the stylus in the spine would be great, especially if it could sync with your computer/phone when you returned to the office/home.
Well...That's interesting. That explains why the Boox Page was getting hard to find. Mine arrives today. And while the $150 price of this one is tempting, I think I'll stick with the Page primarily for the page-turn buttons. It would not surprise me if Boox has a Go 7.8 (thin, no lighting) lurking in the background (I have the Go 10.3).
