    The weak magnet for the pen is also necessary as to not effect the lines of ink when writing towards that edge

    Thanks for the unboxing vid! Hope to see an in-depth review.
    1) I do concern how this one can handle multiple users scenario (e.g. separate books & apps collection for a couple of family members).
    2) Is the lack of fingerprint here crucial? Is it possible to set some password for unlocking and Google Play.
    3) Can you use some popular apps like OneNote, Notion, Obsidian, Trello, Miro for reading purpose (as they are mostly mix of notes and canvases).

  • @trident2020

    It’s a gorgeous tablet and it would be perfect if it had a backlight. I don’t understand why backlighting wasn’t included, it’s a standard feature in all e-ink devices these days. If people want to read on this in bed at night, they will have to purchase a separate book light attachment for it? Why? How bizarre for a new e-reading tablet in 2024. That’s a dealbreaker and a no go for me. Shame.

    • @FunctorialFun

      @@trident2020 I think it is designed to be a more of a writing tablet than a reading tablet, and one of the key components of a writing tablet is minimizing distance between the pen tip and the screen-the backlight gets in the way. So, just targeting a different market.

      This is not designed for reading in bed, if you have that habit, the Kindle would be better. But you can read easily with a desk lamp. I use it to read in the daytime and outdoor. If you like the design but you prefer a front light, there is Note X3 Pro, but only available in China. But you can find a way to buy it.

    I wanna know if you don't mind. the screen is different between the boox note air 3 and Boox Go 10.3. I mean not the color, as far as I know the boox note air 3 has the pre-installed screen protector that make to get paper like feeling in note taking and can remove with hand easily. This is the one thing I don't like. I think it is no premium setup. so, in boox go 10.3, it has a screen protector or non-removable paper-like screen. Also I wanna know also, in low light conditions, the Boox goes 10.3's brightness, what happens with the screen brightness when you use it in low light situations?

    I think I am misunderstanding something here. There is the Onix Boox 3 (B/W) for 449 Euro and then I have the Go for 419 Euro and I lost the backlight.

    • @KevinGamin
      @KevinGamin 2 месяца назад +5

      Besides the lack of a front light on the Go 10.3, you are getting a 300 DPI resolution screen, while the Note Air 3’s screen is just 227 DPI. Also, with the removal of the front light and no color e-ink layer, the Go 10.3’s screen is very close to the writing surface, so it’s much more responsive and very paper like, both to the eye and to the pencil. That’s the biggest difference between the two models.

    • @GianlucaCasu
      @GianlucaCasu 2 месяца назад +1

      @@KevinGamin I mentioned the 3, which is in B/W contrarely to the 3C. Asides for this, losing the backlight to me is a harsh payment for moving to 300 dpi. Not convinced.

      There is a tradeoff. In the store here for me, they're the same price. It's the dpi, closeness to E-ink, and weight vs the backlight.

      I hope it is leather, I don't like to buy additional plastic that will become micro plastics and degrade significantly and only last a year. PS: leather is almost always from cows that are already being slaughtered for meat; if the leather industry disappears, the leather will just go into landfills instead of reducing the need for more plastic production via the oil industry.
