People that do these jobs are truly Heroes and angels. These are the jobs that no one else wants to do but are absolutely necessary for us to live in a healthy and comfortable environment. Imagine if there was no one willing to take these jobs we would be living in absolute filth. Three chairs t o these amazing hard workers. My guess is the pay is far from equal to the job that they do. For the people that leave these disgusting vile messes that force people to deal with their own human waste should be serving time. I think this is the lowest type of criminal Behavior. I am so thrilled to see that the courts are taking care of those that are caught and I hope that the fines are enormous and if they can't pay them then they're forced to do time. Sorry for being a little dramatic but this is shocking.

I asked this when I lived in the UK as it fascinated me too. I was told it's because they're dumping it "on the fly" ie: on the move / in a rush / in a hurry / flying by so as to not get caught. So, tipping on the fly became fly tipping. Not sure how accurate that is but a few people told me that so that's what I go with.

I watched another video about fat clogging the sewers from restaurants. Apparently the restaurants don't have containers to pour oil in? I don't fry much but when I do I usually just pour the cooled oil back into the container and put it in the trash. Same with wipes. I never EVER put them in the toilet. It's crazy that some wet wipe packages tell you they're sewer safe but they aren't. Never put them in the toilet.

They're not. Manufacturers say they are but it's been proved time and again they aren't biodegradable and clog sewer lines. Never flush a wet wipe, even if the packaging says you can. My plumber told me recently they are seeing more clogged pipes because of this. It's not worth the $ to get a plumber in.

I live in Canada and South Africa half the year each and in both places we put oil / grease into containers and trash them when full. It prevents blocked pipes and drains. The sewer portion of this video is getting a bit ridiculous. There was a high reading of methane so the guys came out. Then they get the all clear to go back in. So where did the methane go people?? It isn't like there is ventilation down there. I think this portion of the video was a bit sensationalized. I know there is methane in sewers but no one was wearing a respirator which would have been the SMART thing to do. I don't buy into most of this portion of the video.
