I'm new here so I want to take the time to thank you for making this video. It is my first UTV I own, so your video was very helpful since I do not have a service manual for it.
Great video. You hit on everything for first oil change and general maintenance. A couple life hacks. I use a form-a-funnel for oil changes in my x3. No mess, I mold it like a ramp from plugs and let it drain to the side of car. Not a single drop of oil on my skid plate. Also get some pj1 contact cleaner. It’s like brake clean but not harsh on plastics, electrical or engine components. It’s awesome for degreasing and no water needed.
Ive taken my 2018 X3 XDS to the dealer at around 500 miles when i had electrical issues and asked about an oil change. I was told manufacturer recommends service at 2000 miles. Im currently at 900 miles without a service and was planing on getting it done at 1k. Only thing Ive replaced since has been the air filter.

With that being said, the oil they have is the 0w40. I was disappointed that they didn't have the 10w50. For my other vehicles it's pretty much the best oil you can get. If I were to use something else it would be Mobil 1. BobIsTheOilGuy is a site I learned a lot about oils at. Project Farm here on RUclips has some really great tests going too.

I'd be interested if those thin oils like 0w-30/20 would do any good to those machine. My mechanic in my head says just use the 10w-30 because the thin stuff won't protect enough from such hard use. 🤷♂️ oh the great oil debate 🤣
Brp builds their engines with tighter tolerances compared to what engines use to be. For example gm LS family engines would normally run 5w30 oil. With the introduction of the LT motor family in the new trucks. They switch to a thinner 0w-20 oil because all of the bearing tolerances were tighter. The oil required is do to the design.
I like how people think they are helping the environment because they are using biodegradable degreasers. Just because what you use to clean off oil and grease is environmentally friendly it doesn’t make the oil and grease non hazardous. It’s still a good video I just think it’s important that people aren’t lead to believe that it’s okay to wash all the hazardous substances they want down the storm drain because a company claims their product is biodegradable.
I haven’t done my first oil change and I’m 635. Do you think that going to mess up my warranty if I take to a dealer for it? For some reason I thought it was 60 hours.
Quick question brother I have a 2021 Can am x3 I have like 500 miles on the engine my question is when I start giving it gas it starts with a jerky start and after 5 miles an hour it’s fine what do you think it could be a friend told me to change the belt because it could be a sign of needing replacement???? Thank you in advance👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My X3 RS RR is brand new and is jerky at 5mph. There is a lot of slip at 5-10 mph in High. Pretty sure the manual says that H is for 15 mph or higher. L is for low speed. Too bad these can't shift on the fly. ;). Also watch out for that reverse torque when letting off the gas. Better to let it off gentle if conditions allow for it. Why is the tire pressure set so low if the tire is rated for like 45 PSI
45 is usually like a max rating.. that is way to high. And it will make it ride like crap. Between 12-18 is best
