- Multiple sources confirmed that two Hawaii County workers, assaulted by those associated with a homeless encampment hosted by the county, were targeted for flying a drone nearby.
Let's all thanks Gov Green for all his compassion!
The area is under constant surveillance from cameras located near the ground. The drone flying overhead can't see anything the ground cameras aren't already surveilling 24/7. More than likely they were making an orthophoto map for the purpose of measuring distances, volumes, etc for enhancing the infrastructure trying to help these people. And they get rewarded by getting assaulted.
This is why no one wants to help them.
Bs if u don't wanna help u don't need to make excuses.😂
Just like the homeless. Think the world owes them. Don't know why tax payers should help them with anything. Don't do anything to help them. By helping them, your teaching them to not help themselves.
Oh I thought you were talking about my boss..
Let me guess, you’re a maga “Christian”
Just had homes burned down and property bought out from under him and you accuse him of being a lazy homeless man because he got sick of big brother spying on him. Your a real piece of garbage
Unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle + assault= FREE housing
May boy here. I used train 5am running Kahana 2 miles. No way I would do that today. Maui is filled with people with no roots so they dont kea about anybody.
Kahana Always had tweakers it’s nothing new

Haha
This is a prime example of why people in tents should not be allowed. Just who do they think they are freeloading off Hawaii which we all have to work and struggle to pay our rent let alone bills and food⁉️ Get a job or get out. Hawaii is not free for drug addicts and lazy people. Many jobs are available. Grow up and accept responsibility. Mainlanders go home. States are not allowing this behavior, it's against the law yes.
🙏✌️❤️🤙
fyi they are trying to keep these n-breds out of the drainage area below the gas station and fields .its hazardous and they cant be seen when they setup on the wall there.... its hidden from the main side. thats why reporter is on the other side drainage to film this... aroha
You don't know what their situation is so best not to assume things
@@Josephine-sm2dbyou’re part of the problem. Most of these haoles need to be sent back.
Very Christian of you(NOT) … it’s NOT impossible for you to become homeless too 😊 Don’t be too smug.
My boss is the only freeloader I know..
So sad for both peoples involved.

Assaulted at the new homeless encampment! Nah! No can be. The people who have not been about to get their lives together enough to keep public housing are not dangerous or mentally unstable. How could this happen?
The result of woke socialiam!
So glad I live in a Red state where the leaders have some common sense and work for the majority of the people instead of catering to criminals, drug users, and people who don't want to work and earn their way.
Maybe the man should have said why they were flying the drone.
No p.t. required?
They did drone surveys like that in Kailua here on Oahu a while back and if you read some of the posts on the Nextdoor app people were immediately assuming that drones were illegal and that they were going to be robbed the next day, calling police demanding that the workers be jailed, asking others if it was legal to shoot the drones down, harassing and threatening the workers directly, ect. Eventually other people from the neighborhood managed to calm them down a bit but…
People are just jerks or dumb nowadays - I miss Hawaii of the 70s and 80s
Drones would freak anyone out since we don't know who is spying on you.
The drones interrupted their illegal operations
The mayor is physically here but that's it.
He's and idiot. Just like the majority of our politicians.
Nobody had a phone. No one knows who might have done this. It's a mystery. Who flew the drone? Nobody knows.
Entitled jerks harming our workers. How much should we take!
My boss is the only entitled jerk I know...
Not Our workers they Don't work for me!!😂
Our and we?
@@HandsomeKent either or.
Try to cage an aggressive dog, one might get bitten, the ball was dropped when no security was provided for the country workers. I would not be surprised if those workers sued the whoever. I would also like to add I’m commenting on what was reported here, in which I feel was a real travesty of investigative journalism-par for course? not even. 👎
Hey Kimo- ya know those Vetnam vets who were just given tents down at the park- whaddtya say we go down there and harass them wid drones cuz we got nuttin else to do on Aloha Friday. Wow- they mad!
Were the drones necessary? because that's what triggered the attack. County no can go there in person and talk story or what?
afraid for their own safety, duh
@@user-xd7zr5zy8k oh stop it already, the County could have brought a police officer with them IF they had to inspect the area. Dummies.
Giving the land to haoles weathy forgetting about true kanaka maoli. Me ke aloha to the island may the culture malama aina and each other.
County and entire government can and need to do betta
I would have done the same thing those drones are irritating when they want to fly low and get into your space.
What is "your space"? and how often does a drone fly low into your space?
Besides, these homeless people shouldn't have been living there in the first place. They should have been working or been at a shelter working on getting a job and getting back on their feet.
Lucky we live Hawaii!! NOT !!!!
Yup Lucky we live Hawaii I'm unfazed.✌️☺️

If people don’t want to be part of society and be productive then they need re-educated. Our society creates these problems because of the approach. You must work even if it’s picking up garbage to eat. Our give away society has created this mass of people not wanting to work. Why should they, we feed them for doing nothing.
Hazard pay. Give it a Shaka.
Well, it proves that whether you are housed or unhoused there are consequences to unwarranted surveillance. It's not ok to fly surveillance drones over housing or private residence so why is it ok to do it against people less fortunate? We live in a society where we are separated by class and wealth status where rights only exist for those able to afford the luxury. Why are people allowed to be housed in tents in a parking lot for the fact proper, dignified low-income housing is being built?
They're on that site insisting on living there, in public view of everyone. Wake up.
@@MJanovicable So then it would be ok if someone was doing drone surveillance at your home. Maybe with you kids around and flown by some child molester or peeping tom? It's called respect and decency towards others. Maybe you just don't have that.
Drones are wrong, but don't justify this.
They are aggressive.
Invasion of privacy
How? If people want their privacy they should go inside. There are cameras everywhere like Ring doorbell cameras, businesses have cameras, etc. There is NO expectation of privacy in public,
Nope, they're out in the open, the land is not theirs, it is public. They cannot expect any privacy living where they're at legally speaking.
They should all behave. After all, there is a sign.
wack
Mika you are so beautifully gorgeous 🥰
