Jack of all trades, master of none, but oft-times better than the Master of one. We all start from zero, though how you change that zero is up to oneself. Colin though is a study of simply wanting to do a thing, learning of that thing, then doing that thing. That philosophy got me interested in crafting semi-hard and hard cheeses: been at it a year or so, and there's still so much to learn.

As a tradesman/fixer I see those small moments of utter exhaustion. That moment where you call for help that's not there, and the manic laughter at the comedy of "roit, guess I'm doing this myself!" The face of exasperation of failing over and over and finding out it was something dumb. The sheer willpower to win at whatever you're doing. Keep winning Mr. Furze

I used to work with a lot of metal and I just know how fast you can miscalculate things because you forgot one little tiny bit of physics or you forgot a millimetre here and there. The time it swallows to align things and bits and never forget the screwing time. I absolutely appreciate every single video and respect you in a way only craftsmen can respect other craftsmen. I hope you can keep on doing this stuff and I more so hope you keep enjoying the things you make. No matter how this thing manages to function in the next video, it's been an absolute blast watching you cobble this one together, and especially the way you cover various little hiccups, thought processes, and modifications along the way. Genuinely always a pleasure when there's a notification from this channel and cool ta see ya getting to do bigger projects like this one from time to time!

@@jamie123b yeah, I guess you're right, not entirely different, but I feel like more often than not understanding something in a different language is a lot easier, since even if you don't know all the vocabulary you can still kind of interpolate and figure out what something means using context, whereas if you try to put something together yourself and forgot a word, you either have to start looking things up or your text may en up a mess

@colinfurze Hey, here's some possible tips for future reference (Background in design for conveyors and other concrete stuff -solidworks -plasma -benchpress)
You might want to look into coach head bolts and retaining rings. You get the plasma to cut square holes so you don't need a wrench etc on the inside (or welded studs) to fasten nuts on. Two other common elements I've used was to make the holes for parts into slots that extend to the edge of the plates if they are angled weirdly and annoying when fitting
Lastly, making slots wide enough for the bolt and a larger hole at the end to allow clearance of the washer, generally for access plates (which were bent too, to act as a handle) which allows you to just loosen the nuts and slide the access plate off and on.
Oh yeah, actual lastly, you can add little v cuts at the edge of folds so you can line up the press with them both before folding.
Hope that made sense and maybe gives you some ideas.
Side note, in solidworks it was often easiest to model the whole shape, then shell it, then copy that part for each plate / draw with reference to that part (so you only need to change one part if needed) and then convert those to sheet metal. Don't know if any of that might help with your software.

He can obviously fabricate anything, weld amazingly and his presentation and knowledge sharing skills are top notch as even I can understand what he's doing and why. The implication is that he even edits the videos himself (ok 100 times easier than anything in the videos but a very different skill).
