Myself I'd like to see the 61 build. I just had mine ported it's a good firewood build tons of torque and a little more chain speed! They are good old saws!
I built my 872i several times before getting it where i wanted it. I bought 8 cylinders for it and there was a huge variety of quality. Some were trash and some seem great and some cheaper ones were the better ones i thought
@@Smittyschainsaws keep me posted on what you find. The 55 I have is a complete running saw. I wouldn't care if it gets killed for a cool project, but it's the first one I ever ported. It's slow lol. But it's my first ported saw ever. I also have 4 of them total.

Maybe some vintage homelite stuff it's been a little bit since did one
Love that 61
I wish I had a 50 case for you. I only have the 55 chassis. I'd like to see the 61 build for sure! Great video and good luck getting everything going!
@@ragercrepair9301 I can can make a 55 work. I’m just partial to the 50.

@ I’m starting to think about using what I have and just going with it.
@Smittyschainsaws that's what I always seem to do lol. It's worked so far. Keep us updated!
I'd like to see the 61 or a homelite.
Farmer Tech Are cheap too I got a couple to mess around with for clone wars, the plating held up to grinding. $13 for 372 top end
👍👍 I like the cheap cylinders as well.
You can modify some stuffer cups from a husky trimmer to fit a husky 50 or 55 crankshaft have to JB Weld them in place tho
I haven’t tried that, but I am going to look into it.
I've got a clutch cover and gas tank for the Husqvarna 50.
That big homelite sounds like a cool one to play with
I have a few crankshafts for the 50 55 5000 saws also if you need one to pay with.
410 homlite
How's my old homelite VI130 doing saw it in the thumbnail 😊❤
Is the 51 on the same chassis as the 50 rather than the 55?
Yes they are the same. You can put a 55 piston and cylinder on a 51. I plan to do that if my 51 ever dies.
What do you mean by one of the good ones when you’re talking about the crank 7900
You can swap to a Solo crank with longer stroke
If your buddy wouldn’t forget your next saw at the house sorry I have a bad memory
