Great carpentry, great camera work and editing, great content. Only negative- after showing it to my lady, she wants a woodshed as pretty as that one. Thanks!
Thanks for this. I am learning about timber framing and your video is great. Dont know why, but watching chisel work at fast speed is relaxing to watch :)
I'm so glad I found your videos. I subscribed right away. Is there any chance that you could explain the footer that surrounds the shed? I'd love to see how you built that as well. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome job. Love your style. I use a long flat bar with two hands to break out and drag scrape the notches. Saves some chiseling. I haven’t tried a draw knife but I think that would be pretty nice to clean up.
When you're using the circular saw to form a joint, run the blade right down the edge of the end. That gives you a clean edge when you change over to chisel.
Thanks for your thank you. I have the same feeling I get when the little window says "APPROVED" when I scan my credit card. I have no idea why there aren't more views for this video. Did you do something naughty in the eye of the Google?
I think I've been behaving. ;o) Who knows how these things go? I really like trying to make good content so I'll keep plugging away at it and see if it gains any traction. Cheers!
I like your simplifies timber frame design. I am planning to discuss using your techniques and design ideas with my wife for our new shooting range shelter.
We had a perfect spot beside the house for a woodshed and I was looking to build something unique. Having the shed as close to the wood stove as possible would make the winter task of hauling in wood a bit easier. I'm really happy with the results. For more details, plans, and a full writeup see my blog post for this build here: manabouttools.com/build-a-timber-frame-style-woodshed The internal volume of the wood shed is 392 cubic feet (11.1 cu meters). A full cord of wood is (4’ x 4’ x 8’) 128 cubic feet (3.62 cu m). So stacked to the top of the walls, this shed holds 3 cords of firewood.
Awe I see your a great craftsman & for those 4 yoyo's who gave u a thumbs down I give them the snub up nose and a smile at them with shame. you did awesome brother from one craftsman to another i tip my hat and pat you on the back and a shout out for a job well done partner.
May be a stupid question but have always wondered why when building a normal pole style building people with concrete the posts in the ground but whenever it's "timber framed" they always seem to use a concrete footing is there a reason for this
Thanks! I shot the old tools over a few weathered boards by my workshop. I used photoshop to adjust the image colour and exposure. Then I created the animation in Motion. I edit on a Mac with Final Cut Pro. I also use Compressor. Click on "Editing & Studio Gear on my Tools page to see the rest of my gear. manabouttools.com/tools/
Glad I came across your channel, no heavy rock guitar a great plus. To use a phrase from your side of the pond, I'm totally chilled now.
Nice to see someone taking pride in a job well done.
One of the many things lacking in todays crash building environment.
This woodshed is a work of art.

Thanks!! ;o)
Awesome video, the best I've seen for"how to".....
It's like timber framing is a well kept secret... I like your step by step approach.

Thanks!
Wish i had that many great tools. You are doing a great job. Professional.
Thank you very much!
Like this video, clearly demonstrated the detail of the post. It' s very useful for me to build my timber shelter model.
This would be great for a poolside cabana/shower

Ah yes! Good tip! Thank you.

That's badass. Make a video when it's done!

Very nice! Really enjoy this series.
Thxs , very nice.
enjoy your craftsmanship.
Thank you!
Wouldn’t have thought to use the oscillator that way that was pretty slick I like that
Thanks! I can't say it's the best tool for that job but, I wanted to give it a try, and it worked.
Learned a lot, thanks. Subbed.

I so appreciate your kind words! Cheers, Kent
I loved your designs... but why is it that your wood shed is nicer than my house?
You can tighten the bracket nut with a socket...
@2:20 - It seems like you could have used a ratcheting wrench to accomplish tightening it in a tight space.
I couldn't fit one over the top of the nut. Not enough head space.
Замечательно !
Question: Could those thin pieces you cut out of the gerts be used as shims on other projects?
I followed you over from reddit. That's a beautiful woodshed and it looks like you have a lot of great videos to binge on. You've got my sub and 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
What a showoff!! LOL Nice work...
How did you pour that concrete retaining wall? Any chance of a video on that, it looks great
Thanks! I built plywood forms, added some rebar, and poured concrete. It's hard to go back as I didn't shoot video for that.

Very nice work!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the feedback!
Man about Tools I love your short intro on your videos. What program do you use to create that?

Man about Tools I will check that out! I use FCPX as well!
Is motion and compressor add-on software to FCPX?
What is the volume of this shed? 2 cords? I like the design.
Thanks! See the blog post for the volume: manabouttools.com/build-a-timber-frame-style-woodshed/
How do you insulate a shed floor?
Great video! Did you size it based on how much wood you use? If so, how many cords fit in there?
Thanks! I sized it based on the space I had and the lengths of lumber that I had milled.
Great informative video! Any idea who the music is by?
Thanks! I get all my music from Epidemic Sound. Great for RUclipsrs
What is the fence made of?
I think its a snow fence. It black polyurethane I think. It's super strong and durable and even though it's years and years old it looks new.
Awesome and all until I looked at the price of cedar
Very nice job but it should be criminal paint beautiful wood like that! :P joke !
Thanks! Believe me, we struggled about using a tinted stain.
