    Glad I came across your channel, no heavy rock guitar a great plus. To use a phrase from your side of the pond, I'm totally chilled now.

    Nice to see someone taking pride in a job well done.
    One of the many things lacking in todays crash building environment.

    This woodshed is a work of art.

    Great carpentry, great camera work and editing, great content. Only negative- after showing it to my lady, she wants a woodshed as pretty as that one. Thanks!

    Awesome video, the best I've seen for"how to".....
    It's like timber framing is a well kept secret... I like your step by step approach.

    Thanks for this. I am learning about timber framing and your video is great. Dont know why, but watching chisel work at fast speed is relaxing to watch :)

    I'm so glad I found your videos. I subscribed right away. Is there any chance that you could explain the footer that surrounds the shed? I'd love to see how you built that as well. Thanks for sharing.

    Awesome job. Love your style. I use a long flat bar with two hands to break out and drag scrape the notches. Saves some chiseling. I haven’t tried a draw knife but I think that would be pretty nice to clean up.

    When you're using the circular saw to form a joint, run the blade right down the edge of the end. That gives you a clean edge when you change over to chisel.

      Thanks for your thank you. I have the same feeling I get when the little window says "APPROVED" when I scan my credit card. I have no idea why there aren't more views for this video. Did you do something naughty in the eye of the Google?

      I think I've been behaving. ;o) Who knows how these things go? I really like trying to make good content so I'll keep plugging away at it and see if it gains any traction. Cheers!

    We had a perfect spot beside the house for a woodshed and I was looking to build something unique. Having the shed as close to the wood stove as possible would make the winter task of hauling in wood a bit easier. I'm really happy with the results. For more details, plans, and a full writeup see my blog post for this build here: manabouttools.com/build-a-timber-frame-style-woodshed The internal volume of the wood shed is 392 cubic feet (11.1 cu meters). A full cord of wood is (4’ x 4’ x 8’) 128 cubic feet (3.62 cu m). So stacked to the top of the walls, this shed holds 3 cords of firewood.

    You can tighten the bracket nut with a socket...

  • @BOHICA_
    @BOHICA_ 5 лет назад +1

    @2:20 - It seems like you could have used a ratcheting wrench to accomplish tightening it in a tight space.

      I couldn't fit one over the top of the nut. Not enough head space.

    May be a stupid question but have always wondered why when building a normal pole style building people with concrete the posts in the ground but whenever it's "timber framed" they always seem to use a concrete footing is there a reason for this

      Man about Tools I love your short intro on your videos. What program do you use to create that?

    • @MANaboutTOOLS
      @MANaboutTOOLS  6 лет назад

      Thanks! I shot the old tools over a few weathered boards by my workshop. I used photoshop to adjust the image colour and exposure. Then I created the animation in Motion. I edit on a Mac with Final Cut Pro. I also use Compressor. Click on "Editing & Studio Gear on my Tools page to see the rest of my gear. manabouttools.com/tools/
