    The best video I've seen of the actual building, great time lapse, editing, slow downs and 3D animations make this a standout video. Well done, hats off to your craftsmanship.

    I have no intention of building this - I am a 40+ woodworker and cabinetmaker, and I simply enjoy watching other's talents for entertainment. What a beautiful design, cleanly and professionally built. An inspiration to anyone. I so enjoy your videos and the clarity with which you present your work. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this .... another great night of entertainment. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gifts and skills and intelligence!!! Trades people should run for political public office - but we would never make it, and if we did we would not survive: we have too much integrity, honesty, practicality, efficiency, knowledge and experience - things politicians are simply not interested in.

      Thank you very much for your kind words. You can't know how much I appreciate that. I really wasn't sure how my projects would be received and just a few weeks ago I was thinking that they had no audience. Then last week everything seems to have changed. I am blessed....truly blessed by the encouraging words I have received here. Cheers, Kent

    The sketchup was very nice and the animations made it excellent. Gazebo looks really nice. Only thing that looks a bit odd to me are the why the concrete footings are so tall.

  • @Rob-fd6si
    @Rob-fd6si 2 года назад

    Your presentation without ego is refreshing. The recutting the notches just a tad kept this a realistic build.
    I work on the coast. I'm pretty sure that I would have to add tie-downs.
    Might beef up the arches a lil.
    Nice job, fellas.

    Here's an idea I used to build a complicated porch roof by my self . Since I have bad knees I decided to build my roof in the driveway . I mocked up the beams and built it on the ground saving me from having to climb up and down a full set of steps over and over . If your going to do this . Use small short posts and build the roof on the ground saving you from climbing up and down a hundred times . You can simple walk up to the roof check your fits . Adjust the cuts comfortably . After its all prebuilt . You number and disassemble it . Get some help to climb on easy time to re-erect it . I did my roof in one day by my self . The funny thing was all my freinds ask how I was going to get it up there . I lied and said I had a crane coming to lift it up . It took me about 1/2- to 1 hour to rebuilt it permanently . After being a carpenter for 40 I feel dumb I never used this trick all those year but climbed up and down so many times . Maybe my knees would not have gone bad had I used this tecnic .

    Thanks for publishing this! I never got around to thanking you for it because your building technique helped me build our simple pavilion. I used your joining method to create a 14x16 structure and it is ROCK SOLID. All because you shared! Thank you again! Bill in NM

      Bill C, I”m planning to do something similar and am curious if you stuck with the 6x6 beams for the longer spans, or if you used something taller (and if so, by how much).

    • @billc9266
      @billc9266 4 года назад

      Michael S I used 8x8 for all beams because it looks better for what I built. Most timber yards can help you size beams for whatever your span is. Just give them a call.

    Very nice work,one thing I will point out and is a pet peeve of mine is you do not pour cement,cement is a powder that when water and aggregates are added is called concrete. You wouldn’t call a cake ,flour because that’s the main ingredient .As I stated ,nice job and look forward to more videos

    I'm starting to build your pavilion here in Virginia Beach. Would offer that non standard dimensional lumber has been impossible to source locally. I don't have lumber mills handy to create the 3x10 stock needed for the braces. I'd offer that if you could describe a work around using standard lumber sizes it would make our jobs out here much easier. As it turns out I will be laminating 1x4 boards in a bent fashion to match your arc for both the large and small braces. A whole lot more work to finish the job, but I feel the curved braces make the look of the build. Thanks for a really beautiful structure. I cannot wait to get it finished.
