The internal volume of the wood shed is 392 cubic feet (11.1 cu meters). A full cord of wood is (4’ x 4’ x 8’) 128 cubic feet (3.62 cu m). So stacked to the top of the walls, this shed holds 3 cords of firewood.
I'm glad I found your channel. I like the simple but artistic curves you add to your builds and how you mix modern hardware with traditional timber frame. Well done.
I imagine you have a container for all those wood chips and non-reusable off-cuts from your joinery and which can be used for kindling and fuel to supplement the logs in the Woodshed. That was a great project, Kent.
This looks like the start of a high end Pergola for a patio ... I’d almost be afraid to put wonky old firewood in there, lol ... that means it’s beautifully done, by the way ❤️❤️
Great videos, I respect and enjoy how you explain throughly and demonstrate things, always with the viewer in mind; not to show off, but making sure you are understood. Many thanks.
A rabbeting planer will also work quite nicely for cleaning out the let-in cuts (e.g @9:50). There's a timber-framing rabbeting planer that has an extra-long handle so your knuckles won't get busted-up planing. Nice job..you deserve a beer after this one.
Absolutely love your channel - currently retired but I have to build some timber framed structures or my life will not be complete. Thanks for the inspiration!
I was dissapointed i didnt see you make mortise/tenon joints for the cross braces. Yes would be overkill for a shed but would of loved seeing this done. Thanks for the vid series.
Thanks! For this size structure I didn't think true timber framing methods would be needed. You could do it that way if you wanted to for sure. Also, I wanted to show that you could make a shed in a timber frame "style" that would be simpler to build. I appreciate your comments.
Hi, bought the timber frame woodshed plans, wanted to know if the braces for it are the same length as for the simple cedar pergola. I have used your videos to add a pergola roof to my deck. The woodshed is next. Thanks for the videos as a 61 woman learning new skills...and tools.
It’s funny, I’m watching thinking you should be using a router for your mortises. Then, you chamfer with your planer and I start thinking the same thing. But after watching a while I can see the speed of using the planer and I might start using mine, haha. Thanks for the videos, no matter how many times I do these things I enjoy learning things.

Awesome, thank you!

I sure do! Lots of shavings go into paper lunch bags as tidy fire starters. Thanks Phil!
Thank you for making these videos. The work is amazing and the video production and editing is great. Thank you.
Wery nice job perfect!
I can only dream of doing this in my younger days for now it is just fun watching you work Kent, nice job

Thanks John! I really appreciate that!

I think they make 5.5" saddles on purpose so they are flush with the 6" posts..that way you can screw on plywood without having to shave it off..
If I where going to war, I would leave my gun and take this shed instead! Looks good, and strong!

Thanks for the comment Joe. I find the planer and the angle grinder very fast for chamfering.
When you chamfer the edges with the planer is that simply done for esthetics?
I'd say yes but, it does make the material safer to handle and lean against etc.
The ear protection whilst using an impact drill 4:50 is a bit over the top lol
No, it's really loud.
Все шло хорошо, пока «глухари» в ход не пошли ...
Make it wooden with the help of the Stodoys plans instructions.
Proooject,, arouuund abouuut in a boooot
LOL! I know I know! That's my thick Canadian accent eh!?
