Love the quick vids that get straight to the point. I have the same car with xdrive. Are the rod bearings a necessity? I heard that it's rare for them to fail.
Thanks man, and it’s something that is a possibility on a n55 if you want to push more power out of your car you should definitely get them done for sure I did mine the day I did my big turbo.
Can you make it flutter? I’ve been trying to figure that out if u can with these
Yes, but hard on stock turbo I have upgraded turbo and intake and bov and if you check out my other shorts and videos it flutters a lot

nice video man! Im building my E90 N54 2010 335ix and love finding just similar builds, the only thing I disagree with it sounding any different from n54, mine sounds 1:1 to yours currently.

Idk I got 300k km on my original rod bearings and I’m only changing them now.. also doing pure stage 2 with methanol port injection (pretty much the only reason I’m doing the rod bearings
I never had an issue with mine but I replaced them anyway before my turbo upgrade but they are known to go wrong not for everyone but it can happen
@@StolenE92 yes agreed, I’m gonna do mine bc even 300k km was pushing it
Also the rods are forged g, there same rods as n54 and s55, love the videos keep it up
And the pistons are the same, only difference is the crank really tbh and at that the n55 has a powder forged crank which is considered a none forged crank but is still stronger then a cast one, can handle 800whp
I wasn’t aware of this , if this is true then what would you need to fully “build” the bottom end my friend ?
That’s only the case if you’re LCI, us pwg still got the previous version that aren’t forged

n55 e series can handle 700 whp its the torq u gotta watch keep it below 550
also u dont need jb4 and dont need port , dorch hpfp is all u need
How else can you run custom tune and adjust waste gate etc without jb4 ? Mhd don’t support n55 like n54
@@StolenE92 mhd is all u need just have a good tuner and GFB 3 controller and yea mhd said it them selfs they dont care about n55 E series cuz its a small platform but fuck em
