Wow I didn't know that this song was the first Canadian Song aired on MTV. Thanks for the information, this is my favorite April Wine Song. I just ordered a April Wine Power Play Album t shirt today that has this song on it.
A friend of me and my brothers were talking about artists featured on 94 Rock out of Albuquerque like Black Sabbath, AC DC, Ozzy, Iron Maiden and such and I told him I like April Wine, he replied F#@k April Wine. I should have popped him one but he was bigger and tougher than me.😂😂😂😂😂
That's what brought me here actually. Heard them on my local Detroit rock station and it reminded me how much I loved this song 🎤🎵 it's now on my playlist 🥰😍💕
one of the most underated bands ever. in my opinion just as good as some of the bigger bands of the time. sad to see they didnt get the attention they diserved. AWESOME SONG BTW
@@mrwatcher931 Oh my friend I'm sad you feel like this I have many many online friends that are from the United States and they all love Canadian super groups like April Wine, Triumph,BTO,the Guess Who, Chilliwack,Rush and I can go on,but these groups were the generation of teenaged music lovers born in the late 50s and early to mid 60s, growing up with this music created a select group of men and women who were growing up to the best party tunes one ever heard and one can still transport in their minds back to those times when life was simpler ❤️🙏🏻peace ✌🏻🕊️ and love
If we could only go back to this awesome 80's era. I was just a little girl when this album came out. Brings me back to good ol' childhood summers. What an amazing song! Love these guys ❤ They're 70's songs rock! One of my most favourite Canadian bands ever!!! 🇨🇦 🎸🎶 ❤
It's kind of neat to see an old skool video like this. I love how the exterior shots of the truck don't show any glass. No tricks here, raw footage. Myles singing into the CB Mic. .....I love it !!
RIP Myles Song was released in 1982 I was 17 years old. Listened to the guitar into over and over and over. Realize now how great April Wine was ! There was so much music coming out in 80's It was overwhelming.
You are so right on with what you said! Couldn't say it better! MTV in 1982 with videos like this one from April Wine were a thrill to see back when I was 17 as well!
When you got a kick ass tune like this,it don`t matter where the video was shot.April Wine was raw and rocked my ass off for over 30 years. They deserve hall of fame big time!
First song I remember hearing from them (I wasn't even a teen until the summer of '82), and I loved it right away...simple, straightforward, and catchy, exactly how rock and roll was meant to be.
Don't ask me why..I'm an old man now...but I've been on an April wine kick lately..its fun and good and taking me back to a better time...can anyone else relate..
I'm pretty sure they would have to put some pretty thick plexiglass in those openings to prevent band members from falling out, but having the band and their instruments plus a camera crew in there at highway speeds is still dangerous as hell. No way would the transportation authorities allow that nowadays.
enough is enough April Wine My name is Jamie, I would love to go back into a time machine so badly. The 1980s were a blast for playing great music. I am writing from Toronto, Ontario
I love this video concept. I don't think I've seen another one like this? R.I.P. Myles and say hello to all of the other legends upstairs looking down at us!
Pretty unique video. There is a much later, very similar video by Aussie band "Airbourne" and features another late rocker, Lemmy from Motorhead. Check out "Runnin' Wild", by Airbourne.
Hell yeah!! I haven’t heard this since the 80s, but every now and then it would pop into my head. Thanks to RUclips, I finally can put a title and artist to another song I loved way back when!

Ah, July in Canada. Short sleeves, long jeans, and six cars on the highway. Must've taken days for them not to get some latent snow on tape. Still, love April Wine, Rush, Triumph, Aldo Nova, Lover Boy etc. As a kid growing up in Michigan (Baja Canada) in the 80's, We heard a lot of Canadian Rock.
+Quentin Raffensperger I wasn't aware of Aldo's Canadian roots, either. (I'm old enough that I'm more the Neil Young era.) I did see Aldo Nova in '82 or '83 opening for Blue Oyster Cult. Good show.
I was arguing with my wife about something in the car one morning on the way to work. I told her I didn't want to talk about this anymore and I turned on the radio. Well the timing was perfect. "Can't you see that you're my girl and enough is enough" sounded from the speakers. Talk about instant levity, we both started cracking up instantly.
My first concert...saw them at Place des Nations in my home town, summer of '78...I'm now living in bluenose country where these guys originated. Just sent it to my girl, a bluenoser, 'cause she's my girl!
I agree with ya, those older days were great. I am almost 50 and I still get chills listening to some of the music that I really got a kick out of. Just brings lots of memories of I call the better music days.
The place, A local high school located in Ville LaSalle, Quebec back in the early 70's is where I and all my school friends first heard this amazing band. Can you just imagine, being in that school with April Wine? They blew everyone away, I am so very happy April Wine went on and became Super Rock Stars. I saw this band BEFORE they became famous, They played at a local school in the gym, None of us had mobile phones back then. When April Wine was finished their very first song, all of us were like JAW DROPPED - TOTALLY LIKE - WHO ARE THESE GUYS????? Then they played their second song, it was just awesome, we were jumping - screaming, WHAT AN AMAZING BAND. Tickets were sold for like 7.00$ I think LOL twas a long time ago Hey if any of the guys in the April Wine reads this do drop me a message. Much Respect John from Ville LaSalle, Quebec.
Weird fact, first time I heard this song I thought it was Rick Springfield!😄 To me Myles’ voice sounded just his on this song. Plus Rick was doing music in this exact style as well at the time.
Listening to a number of this bands best songs (Just between You and Me, I Like To Rock, You Could Have Been A Lady, I'm On Fire For You Baby, Oowatanite, Say Hello, etc, etc), you can't help but ask yourself why they weren't much, much, bigger in the States than they were.
"Enough Is Enough" is a hard rock song by Canadian rock band April Wine, formed in 1969 and based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in his debut. It was written by Myles Goodwyn and appeared on the band's tenth studio album, Power Play (1982). The song was the first single released from the album and was a big hit in Canada and the United States. The song reached No. 12 on the Canadian Top Singles, No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 9 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, making it their biggest hit on the latter chart. "Enough is Enough" remains a popular classic rock song in North America, while CKKQ-FM "the Q" ranked it as the 146th best Canadian song of all time. The music video for the song was directed by Mark Longstreth and shows the members of April Wine inside the cabin of a transport truck, while beautiful women hitchhike. We also see the band perform in the trailer. The video was created for MTV in 1982.
I have to correct myself because you are correct.. They did form and record their first album in Halifax Amaya musician's friend says that their management and record company moved to Montreal and they followed.
RIP Myles. Thanks for the great times in youth.
