Yo thank you so much for this info
my man, I agree completely. I just got one and hooked it up for the first time today and GOOD LORD, literally mixes your drums for you with zero effort. so rad. great video!
Damn this help me out love this
agree to 100 % - this EAD10 is so aweseome and makes your life so much easier.
Would love to see more content like this 👏
Huge fan! Thank you for making this video! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Ead is awsome. I love it ! Super easy to use and makes practising way more fun.
You’re a genius for making this video. The cover photo really makes it impossible to pass up.
Thanks, I've been using an EAD10 almost since it came out and I still find new things it can do... like this. Well done
You’re a genius I watched so many videos didn’t help. But this one was so simple Thank you Thank you Thank you.
Dawwwg your a life saver

I'd recommend using any compatible stereo audio interface connected to the phone and use both L/R channels. I definitely prefer stereo music to mono.
My exact setup
You can use a usb cable into a phone either the rec n share app from Yamaha, although that doesn;t capture anything from the "aux/click" knob, probably due to copyright, so the Irig allows you to record what you hear through the phones,
What is that I-RIG doing? What happens if you just plug the aux cable into the phone?
Nice description of connections but EAD10 is too expensive equipment costs up to 500$ so isn't a way for a new young student drummer that maybe can use a Zoom recorder and a mobile phone for the video.
El Estepario Siberiano used this for most of his drum covers.
I am pretty sure if you use the rec and share app you can adjust your audio levels and stuff afterwards, you can’t the irig way though
Rec N Share app makes it EVEN easier 🙌🏾
+ usb 3.0 camera adapter
Yo loved the video, definitely want to try this out, but are there any alternatives to the Yamaha EAD 10 for cheaper?
I guess he said easy not cheap. X.x
The ead10 did not work for me at all. Not sure if I got one that just happened to not work but I couldn’t get it to trigger for me at all.
I then found out you have to go in and completely dial
In the trigger sensitivity and other things. I did all that and still couldn’t get it to work.
I’m now going to buy some mics and interface and doing it the right way.
Were you using the rec n share app?
My Irig plugs into headphone jack on my Samsung android phone. Turns it into an input mic. So when I reord video audio is synced. No adapter needed.
but how do you then mute the original drums of the song?
And how much is all of that you need together in total?
I’m still trying to decide if I should get an EAD10 or fully mic my kit.
I’ve got no experience with either and likely won’t be recording in the studio any time soon.
Also random question- one of my biggest fears with the EAD is cymbals not sounding good. I know you can add extra triggers to it, would it be possible to add a pair of overheads later, if I decide they’re needed?
I’m confused I’ve had this for years..on mine I don’t used that Irig thing…..I record and then set my levels accordingly after it records to the rec n share app..what is the difference between your way and mine.
hey, what to do if I want to play music from my phone AND film with my phone?
i love how this mic works but 600 dollars is crazyyyyyyyyy
It’s extremely well worth it man
Congrats on the 10k subscribers!
Hit that monetize button!
It's not crazy for the quality hardware + innovation.
You're paying for convenience/ease of use. You can buy a $100 set of cheap mics and a cheap used interface with enough inputs, AND THEN find cheap+used XLR cables to get it plugged in,
But that will take at best an hour to put up/take down (realistically closer to 2-3hr), and even then unless you know HOW to mic a drum kit-
You'll still have a much worse sound than this.
This is an incredible value when it comes to quality+convenience.
you might as well get a whole set of drum mics and overheads for much much cheaper with a full interface
I bought the i rig, all the right cords and etc, and nothin is working.. :( any suggestions?
I must be doing something wrong. I have it hooked up like you say but I’m only getting drums on video. No audio from any source. I get audio in my headphones but it doesn’t record.
does it work with the android devices, samsung s21, android 14??
How do you connect this if you want to record the sounds from the EAD10 straight into my PC and REAPER?
I watched the whole video, you basically answered my question (Sorry for asking too fast), Thank you so much for this video!
You didn’t say anything about taking the drums out of regular music ….what I don’t want to play non copy right music ?
The non copyright music is for his video. He’s using it so his video doesn’t get flagged for copyrights.
You can make drum cover videos with most songs. But as you make more and more videos and post them, no matter what some will be flagged. Some songs are a no go.
Can you only add one trigger? Or can you add multiple?
Multiple
You skipped the part about muting the original drums
How do you mute the original drums?
that yamaha shit is 4.5k here
only 500$!
This is a nice idea, but drums further away will sound like trash, cymbals even worse, and youll get a while garbageload of snare. You also can't mix anything, so you literally just get the sound of the drums how they are in real life, which usually dont sound that great.
dampening to the rescue
I have the ead… does just fine for covers. The ead itself has settings within it to mix your drums making them sound better. Don’t get me wrong it’s not gonna sound better than normal mics. But considering you can do a good amount of stuff with the ead is crazy outside of recording. El Estepario Siberiano uses a ead and it sounds fine for quick insta clips.
El estapario siberiano
Says the guy who has ZERO drum videos on his channel or any music for that matter.
there are sounds in the module
Is it possible for this to work with a double bass kit
