I’ve seen these mics, and it’s very similar if you were to record with one front mic facing upward to the snare in the same spot by the kick, and an optional second if you want. Then importing the video to Abelton live, convert drums over to midi with a kit of choice. Then you can blend the samples with the live drums. That’s a very cheap way if you only have a single mic and interface. I have a two mic setup with nice API/Neve Pres and an Apogee converter. I found recording with those I can get great sounds, then midi it over, match the kit or sample off the original kit. That way you can mix and push up drums where needed. But this tool is a great simple non complicated fix, if you don’t have the tech know how to do all what I said up top. Very interesting great tool though! And for a live stream probably easier to use this, as you wouldn’t be editing anything live with samples.
Hey Molly, thanks so much for the video. My son has started doing this and we use the exact process you showed. However, every time we try to post to TikTok it won’t upload as the song is copyright, how do you do this?
How do you transport the mp4 video from your phone to your Mac desktop? I have a MacBook pro laptop and a android phone. I used a digital camera with an SD card to record my old drum covers to bypass having to use my phone, but I'd like to know this process too.

It would be the exact same actually. Only thing that is different is plugging the electric drums into your laptop. And you’d have to configure it to whatever DAW your using
