I m a North Indian living in South India.. Knew nothing about rasam. I was confused with so many recipes of rasam. So tried this recipe. And I must tell it super delicious. Now rasam rice has become one my favorite.
Hi. I am a north indian and a pregnant lady. Don't know why.. I got a craving to eat rasam. I didn't know what rasam is. ? I told my husband to show me how it is made. He worked in south for many years in the past. . So he just showed me ur video . I found it super easy. Today I made it. I liked it. Bt the spl. Thing was...when My husband took a spoonful of rice with rasam in his mouth his.. 'ummmmm' sound made my day. .. he said it is exactly what he used to eat in south. I wanna say. A big thanks to you. Or what else I can say. 🙏. Thankyou
I am not an Indian or of Indian descent but I love this recipe. It is light but yet full of flavour...if that makes sense. On my trip to India last year, I found out that there were more than a hundred types of rasem as each state would have its own signature rasem and each household would have its own recipe. Pepper rasem, lemon rasem, tomato rasem, you name it. Anyway, here is the list of ingredients used in this video for the benefit of others. Rasem - [ ] Garlic - [ ] Green chillies - [ ] Curry leaves - [ ] Cumin - [ ] Black pepper - [ ] Coriander leaves - [ ] Tomatoes - [ ] Tamarind juice - [ ] Mustard seeds - [ ] Hinge - [ ] Dried red chillies - [ ] Tumeric powder - [ ] Salt
I cooked this today. With exactly all of the ingredients as you've shown in the video and its soooooo easy! Must try! Literally took me only 30 mins to prep and cook. Tastes so good too! Thank you!
Best orignal rasam recipe ever. olden days this is how food was cooked n secret is using hands (that's why v wash hands n cook can't show every detail in video), n garlic with skin is so aromatic for all tadka. Hand mashed r more tasty than Chopped tomatoes. Appreciate he's learnt cooking frm previous generation.
Thank you so much. Indian parents of this generation are failing their children and I'm losing my cultural cuisines. Although I may never ever get family recipes, at least I can learn some basics to experiment on my own. I truly appreciate this.
Hi ! I was looking out for a quick n easy rasam recipe, and I went through many, finally I came across this recipe and it was super easy n tried it out and it turned out so perfect and everyone in my family loved it thank you very much it was so simple with simple ingredients and so easy n very quick to make, so for the 1st time I tried your this rasam recipe in September 2023 coz my Son asked for it, and now today I was making a menu which goes well with rasam and once again 8 must tell you I made this same rasam today and it came out super 👌👍😋😋🤤🤤... I'm so happy 😍😍☺️... Thanks so much 🙏🙏 frm: UAE 🇦🇪💖
Authentic taste ever... I am from gujarat and i tasted rasam in one the south indian restaurant. The recepie you shared, tastes exactly the same authentic rasam... It was really helpful to watch your video.. Thank you so much :)
Yes that is how I have learned to make it. It just tastes awesome and the sourness is so good. I think if the tongue can speak it will comment on it. Such a simple dish but tastes so good. People who are recovering from fever are advised to have it as the tongue would have turned bitter and besides it is a soothing dish. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the recipe .... everyone in my home enjoyed it especially my mom and dad......mom complimented me saying it tasted exactly like her mother in law recipe
From The Beginnin', Ivvalooo Proper-'aa Panna Nee-'nga, Kadaiyisi-'lla Rasattha Kodhikka Vittu Vesham-'aa Aakkeetteengall-'aey... That Baadi Soda Moment Of Vadivelu's Dialogue :- Ivvalavu-'um Panni, Manda Maeyll-'ah Ulla Kondai-'ya Marandhuttaeyn-'aey... 😆😆😆
Superb recipe and quiet good on fast forward, that's how it should be, although that mortar and pestle sounded more like a machine gun, Lol. But seriously, this is a good presentation. People don't like to sit and watch someone peeling and cutting each onion and garlic etc. Good job mate. 👌👍🏻
I made this today. As I was not sure whether one or two tomatoes were to be added, I added two. May be I should have stuck to one. It was good, quick and easy Thank you.
I am sure this recipe tastes good, And you can use a blender for quick recipe, But this is Charu Recipe not Rasam, Rasam is made with dal water and boiled with rasam powder and tadka is done in the end. Charu a Andhra recipe doesn't use Dal water or rasam podi but Tadka is also done in the end. different kinds of charu's are made through out the Andhra and Telangana region. Telangana people do Tadka in the beginning . People find it easy to do the tadka , like a one bowl dish cooking. but tadka in the ending preserves the aroma of tadka and crunch of the tadka items. Sometimes hurry dishes need to be prepared well too. don't think I am criticizing. this is a good recipe , I will also do it some times. But just sharing the points I know.
It's one of the best comment in my channel. Love and thank you. I agree with you, its apart (Dal broth + Rasam powder mix) from regular rasam in south India. I made this recipe from my mothers style. also am from Kanyakumari, most of our homes in KK we will not use dal broth in rasam. I think the Charu Recipe is our Traditional method from South. Thanks.
It tastes awesome, but would be more better if you could give details of quantity of ingredients, like how much to add etc specially as it's made for beginners. Thank you
Please try with your own quantity to find your own taste. I learned this way, I never followed quantity of others. Thanks for understanding. Happy Cooking.

She use urad dhal and mustard mix
