Keep in mind that this is not a tutorial.
I do these videos so that you can see my process, and to this one I added
some simple tips and shared my thoughts as I was painting it, but once again, this is not meant to be a tutorial. Just a (hopefully) entertaining process video, where you can (hopefully) learn a few things!
I hope you like it, and thanks for watching!

Hey everyone! Here are some answers to the most frequent questions:
- I use photoshop cs6
- I use a wacom intuos 4 ( you cannot do this w/ a mouse unless you are crazy :D )
- Most of the brushes I use come with photoshop. I have many in my brush pack ( which is available in my main youtube page through a link) but honestly I use 4 or 5 at most. Brushes don't matter and won't make your painting better. Just choose 2 or 3 brushes that feel good to you and stick to those.
- I am 98% self-taught, I just went 1 year to university which didn't teach anything related to digital painting.
- If you are just starting, avoid using stuff like photo-textures. This is one of the worst shortcuts that you can try to take. Learn to actually paint stuff without resorting to this kind of thing, or it will come to bite you in the ass later on. ( I made this mistake and regret it very much )
- You don't need talent. Talent is a myth. You just need dedication and to really love what you are doing. Practice everyday and don't give up. Learn to love to draw. Just draw draw draw paint paint paint. It doesn't matter if it's digital or traditional. Just do it. Software or brushes or whatever doesn't matter, just stop making excuses and draw/paint as much as you can. It's easier said than done but there is no secret and there are no shortcuts, just do it.
Best of luck and thank you all for the nice comments! I will soon have a lot more time to make more videos, so stay tuned :)
Master BlinckArt
Thank you for your lesson in art and mastery of the mind, it is with much joy i express my grattitude. May fortune continue to smile upon you in the coming year, to all of you!
The video was interesting and thoughtfull, i learned from it. I shall set my novice skill to practice to honor you.
Yours truly,
The Lone Wanderer.
Would love to see more of your videos! I'm into day 2 of using my intuos pro tablet, I didn't realize how hard it is to go from traditional illustration and Photoshop use to using a tablet... but your videos are inspiring. Thanks.
you are the first artist that tell me what brush they are using
most of them didnt answer
so ggwp
:) I have read your answers! it actually passed me motivated to draw. I will keep track of your activities, and I will try as you said
your comment help me to push hard... =)
Hey!
I agree with most this. I basically never went to art school, and learned 90% of what I know by myself.
Quick thought: IMO, you shouldn't need to treat art like a job. It should NEVER feel like an obligation. You need to develop a passion for drawing and painting to the point where you actually want to do it instead of feeling obligated to do it. At this point everything becomes much easier, and you will find yourself painting more and more for fun, and thus improving a lot.
Thanks!
When you got the image of the city and sliced it up and shit you blew my fucking mind.
HAHAHAAHH SAME
I know this was a long time ago but coming from someone that’s getting into an art journey vids like these are incredibly valuable just to observe the process so thank you 🙏
Это просто офигенно! Просто нет слов, чтобы описать,как это круто сделано. Добра автору.
I can't watch this before i go to bed. You're making me want to stay up all night and paint. But on the other side you're using such wonderous music that is making me sleepy. I think you're just messing with my head :(
You can't fail at drawing. You can only fail at WANTING to draw. As long as you have motivation you will get better, no matter what.
I love the way that this includes all the changes you made to the painting while doing it. This is just amazing, so cool.
The music selection was beautiful. This was very enjoyable!
OMFG!!! YOU SPEND A WHOLE NIGHT ON A SPACESHIP??!?
dude i spent 6 month, no joke, 6 fucking month on just one painting until i was satisfied because it was for a friend. A pro would have done it in 1 weekend but I am no pro yet, so I have to spend time on my work. Art is not about speed, it's about what I've already mentioned.
I just love how brave you are changing stuff, experimenting, deleting, etc etc. Looks like you had a ball doing it.
Aah I don't know why but I keep watching this video. The beautiful artwork alongside that music just keeps making me come back.
Holy sh1t! i remember watching this 7 year ago and now it recommend back . How time fly
I can't believe that you pulled this off in only 2 hours and a half... Wow.
Amazed at how you can paint this with so little layers, and your courage to redo instead of trying to fix a problem *___*
Very true. I went to art classes and I am a natural talent,BUT I put in work, everyday always trying to find that new thing that can improve my art. You have to be intentional with your art no matter what.
I love how you're always telling us what you're doing and little things here and there that you tried to do but failed or changed. It's nice that you're trying to help us understand x3
I really liked your picture! And I'm impressed that you are self-taught!
I just searched to know 'how to paint the concept art', but now i watched a work of art. That was really impressive.
I had never thought making a concept art is time consuming, this guy is amazing .
Magnificent ! How come you are so underrated ? , I wish these places would exist
Fantastic. I also love the captions with brief explanations. A lot of artists feel they are expected to ramble the entire duration of the video, but your captions do the job perfectly.
This is the most beautiful, inspirational thing I've seen... Thank you so very much for this.Thank you.
the best about digital art is imho how you can play with light and other effects. what is really hard to achieve when drawing normally
This is just balls to the wall incredible
I love the simplicity of this piece. While it definitely has plenty of fine details to it, there are a few main focal points and just a simple/beautiful calm to everything. Obviously this is just my interpretation, and thank you for sharing.
This is easily one of my favorite RUclips channels. I love the feeling I get when the painting comes together at the end. So good.
Every time something bothers me in the painting you eventually fix it
Awesome,
Just started myself at digital painting and this is truly inspirational. Your eye for depth, composition, detail and colour blew me away.
Spectacular! Loved how you kept trying different ideas, tossing some, enhancing others. It really showed the evolution of the image. Thanks for sharing!
You are such an inspirational artist!
You have your own way of painting
Really Inspiring, and your tips made it Fantastic!! Really awesome work!!
This is amazing, I'm really impressed. I'm taking a class for this and it's harder than people think. I've been doing it for two years and wow this is absolutely amazing.
This is so so so so damn awesome. I get inspired daily to want to create more whenever i watch such kind of videos.
Awesome! I love pictures you draw
Love the new tips along the way!
I just started with digital painting and was looking for some tutorials on concept art, now I didn´t find a tutorial in your video, but I am amazed, you motivated and inspired me. You gave me a broner :D
I’ve always enjoyed digital landscape paintings, but I never know how to draw them. My skills are limited in digital painting, but it’s still very helpful to see the progression of the painting.
you are absolutely incredible
You are amazing. There's no other words to describe. I felt so many things watching you drawing this.
Love the use of the simple shapes that made a beautiful satisfying composition here. The music is very fitting as well. Super thumbs up.
That was very very very cool! Thanks for sharing!
I'm 3 years late to the party but i just want to say that this was and still is and amazing piece.
Great work man!
Very motivating for me to keep drawing! Keep up the videos! Got yourself a sub👍🏼
Nicely done, I enjoyed it, thank you very much!
Beautiful work! Thank god you took off that circular structures...
This is some really great drawing! I wish I had shortcut keys down and made some custom/preset brushes and filters, because I would definitely love to do similar things in Photoshop. I suppose I have to practice, practice, practice, too! I guess I'm only use to editing photos with Photoshop rather than creating drawings from scrap. This has definitely inspired me to try.
absolutely incredible! I'm just starting digital painting and you've really inspired me to try a style I had never thought of using before. Thank you so much!
Mind blowing in the way that you mixed simple shading and super cool details.
Im realy in to consept arting and stuff like that and I wish to improve and hopfully work with it in the future
Love the painting and music taste is 100%
i loved the things you wrote. Very cool!
So beautiful!
Dude, i'm just here watching videos til' my body tells me to go to sleep, and i feel, like, really shocked for this one, this landscape. I have NO IDEA how to do something like that ( I always wanted to get a degree in graphic design and learn how to illustrate and stuff, but ended up studying something i don't like). Anyways, amazing idea, amazing work, I just wanted to let you know that you're art is awesome and touched the soul of some guy in south America at 2:24 haha.
So relaxing watching this with the music you added~ Well done!
Beautiful work.
This is by far my most favorite video! It inspires me to chase my passion/dream of becoming great at digital painting!! I'm actually taking my sketchbook to work today to do a bit of free hand sketching while I'm on lunch :) Thank you for this amazingly beautiful video! Definitely a sub.
Your style is very interesting, i enjoyed this.
That was an amazing digital painting! I loved the way you added in the city lights and made it look more futuristic! I think you should maybe look into tutorials or maybe hand sketches. Of course that depends on how much time you have but its just a suggestion! Keep up the good work!
This is just amazing
Brilliant job man !!!
To me...it's magic. I was stunned. Thanks
Well that was beautiful
I think it's great! :D Very entertaining, and helpful!
really nice, real inspiration
Well, this is brilliant. Amazing. And during the whole video I was thinking I want to be able to do this. Thank you for giving me the inspiration I needed.
amazing work. your a very talented painter.
I love these... great inspiration to us "younger" and aspiring artists (15)... Would love to see more... Subscribed!
wow i loved it!
Of course! On my other RUclips channel I love feedback, so I try to give other RUclipsrs I like as much good stuff as I can :)
you realy do inspire my. thanks for giving my the desire to paint.
Loved it, keep up the good work.
Let's review it ... certainly i have missed one step... started blank to become awesome *.* Magnifique :)
thanks so much for your tips and the video!! it helped me a lot!!!
You answered a lot of questions I had ^_^ Thanks!
ahhhhhh..... landscape is refreshing
Omg don't hate me but i cried from this video. your art gave me this kind of lonely feeling, and the music only made it worse. Would you believe me if i'm graving for songs like these? the slow paced piano tones. your art really amazes me, and this is actually the first time i've felt such a strong feeling from a painting/art piece. I was waiting for you to put some sort of color with the blue since the blue looked so lonely, and right there and then you put in the orange which really finished it. I want to be able to do this too omg >.< i've seen so many things and im still young, but there are always those particular arts where i wish i would be able to do this too. I'm a 2nd year Graphic (Trainee) lets say that, and i'm not good at drawing at all. The only thing (i believe) i'm rational at is drawing graffity and giving it color, but im far from the best... anyways, keep up this amazing work of yours
pussy
You don't need it. Most of what art school is is the commitment to draw for hours upon hours every day. You just need to practice and want to improve. The point is, you have to treat art like a job and practice for hours daily. You would find yourself improving greatly over the span of a few weeks. Most people will go through literally thousands of sketches and studies before they start pumping out the good stuff.
One day i wanna be like you... one day, i'll be like you. You're incredible!
thanks for posting your comments thru the vid .. pickin up a lot of good ideas up from you :)
Fantastic.
very nice piece sir!
This is truely amazing!
This is breathtaking! A++++++++
No u r breathtaking!
Thank you so much for this video! I loved every second of it
Love the colors! You did a great job ! :)
This is Phenomenal Amazing work Great Job my friend! Hats off to you.
wouaw... respect... it looks like coming from Star Wars !
i wich i could do that !
didnt proving them wrong u did draw things, you can understand what your looking at. i used to draw really well then some kid was jealous made me feel bad i lost my confidence in it an began to draw like crap over the years because i stopped doing it i now lack my talent but talent really comes from paying attention to your environment. look fzd on youtube an he goes thru all this stuff about learning fundamentals an practice is key. also dont fall in love with your work it hinders you
Thank you so much for sharing your technique!
amazingly
awesome!
This is my favorite!!
You are so talented man!! I love your drawings/paintings - keep them coming! Also have you ever done character concept design? I recon you would be great at that!! :)
Love the video! If you ever decide to make another one with tips, do you mind leaving them a bit longer? :)
i wish i was born like you.
This is awesome...don't hate me, but the first thing I thought of by looking at the thumbnail was that those looked like the Pyramid Ships from Destiny 2. 😂
Wow....this would be perfect if they added this to the game Destiny. You're so good! I need to become this good
This is amazing!!!
JORGE SALUDOS!!! BUENISIMO tutorial gracias!!!!
