    Exposure is still the best thing to do. Sounds scary but it’s the only way to get used to normal life. The more you sit around waiting the worse your anxiety gets and turns to agoraphobia. Don’t let fear paralyze you mentally

    • @7806macca
      @7806macca 8 месяцев назад +1

      This is true but only in a very general way. For people with serious clinical anxiety problems, exposure done wrong can make things 100 times worse. Please speak to a therapist about CBT before just doing it yourself

    I had my first panic attack while I was away and then again when I had to fly back home. It was the scariest thing ever. I tried to fly again a few months after and had the panic attack again. It got so bad I could not even leave my house. I was terrified. Then I found Shaan.. learned what was going on and how anxiety works. Today I can say that I have flown 8 times since all of this. Already have another vacay booked.
    Thanks again Shaan. ❤️🙏🏽✈️

    I must honestly say Shaan you are a modern Claire Weeks, I appreciate your life with it I related to everything and grateful you are so real. Many Dr.s have never had GAD or panic and are good at reaching for a prescription pad but you got to the root of every feeling which you proved was never a fact. I’m totally panic free because of your work with depersonalization and thank you for what no Dr could help me understand as clearly as you perfectly explain. You Barry and The anxious truth are without a doubt THE BEST Real deal. A million thanks for your life commitment to this topic.

    I suffer with travel anxiety, My safe space and where I feel most comfortable is home. My mother doesn't care about how I feel and still forces me to travel regardless of my travel anxiety. She says things like "Your going, end of story!" or like "I don't care, your going!"
    So I'm hoping this can help me.

    My experience really hit my confidence and I have not booked a holiday this year and I love to travel. I went to Spain for 3 days and each day for 3 hours I felt panicky, overwhelmed like the world was closing in on me. It was horrible, I felt out of control, like I was having a breakdown abroad, scared and felt under threat. My confidence to travel is now so low

    I got my CDL and started OTR truck training with a trainer. I started having panic attacks and had to come back home. I couldn’t finish my training, and it messed me up financially. I don’t know what to do. I’m on medication. I was diagnosed with an anxiety panic attack disorder years ago. As long as I’m in a regular routine, I’m fine. But when I leave to go one the road, my anxiety starts. I have done everything….

      First of all understanding that it is Anxiety and nothing life threatening( it very much seems threatening to anxiety sufferers), and if you feed on Fear, anxiety symptoms grows bigger. Accept every symptoms, thoughts etc ,and not fighting or resisting but float past it / let the symptoms etc be there without fearing ....

      I got it ^^. Thank you @Atula Lkr. It's actually hard to just accept the symptoms and live with it. I still have to figure out how to do it. But I noticed that when I try to cope with it, it relatively feels less worse.

    I've been having a lot of anxiety over everything lately but I'm looking up videos specifically for travel anxiety because I have to drive an 1hr and 45 minutes from home to a dentist appointment Wednesday and I can't get anyone to go with me. I'm absolutely Terrified of driving and traveling alone especially when it comes to highways and city driving 😞. I feel terrible because my family wants to see me be strong and do this on my own but inside I'm freaking out and scrambling to find someone to ride with me . I even contemplated canceling my appointment but that's not an option. I would give anything to feel free and not have anxiety anymore. I would give anything to not feel scared to travel on my on my own 😢 . I just turned 32 and feel like a big wimp 😢

    In August I spent 20 days in Malaysia and Singapore (from Italy), on my own. It was a successful experience, since I proved to myself that I CAN do it. I accepted the fact that I wouldn't enjoy my vacation 100%. In some days and in some situations anxiety was really strong, but I also had some wonderful moments. I think seeing "exotic" places and people helped me turn my attention to the outside, instead of the inside. So overall, I enjoyed my vacation 65 or 70%, and that's fine. Problem is, now I'm back to my everyday life, and anxiety has grown stronger again, and even having a stroll in my town or going to a grocery store is a pain, maybe because I need to re-adapt to my ordinary life. But this is weird and makes no sense. I was able to do great things and now I can't do small ones anymore, my nerves are all over the place.
