Literally this is what ownership of bmw makes from you. I have been watchim this guy since begining (now i skipped like year or two) and now i seen a skinny nervous guy.. and im scared.. i remember happy guy with filled cheeks which was heated to his passion.
Forget the car, 50s kid your looking great, lost a power of weight since i used to follow on the E46 videos. Hope your doing well, another great video 👌🏻
Hi I have 2011 335i n55 and I changed out my Harmonic Balancer and Put the shaft seal small cover behind the pulley and my belts keeps falling ! And it loosen up my Power steering pulley ! Any thoughts why
To align the pulley, get a long bolt the same thread pitch as the pulley bolts from the hardware store, cut the head off, and thread it into the pump. You now have an alignment pin. Get the other 2 bolts in, then pull you stud out
That was good. Thanks. Do you have a video that goes one step further & replaces the steering pump. I have an e90 (pump) that is groaning & squealing very bad. (all the other spinning parts are newish: AC compressor, Alternator & all the pulleys)
Hey 50s kid i love ur videos..I have a fast question on my 2008 328i sedan (AUTOMATIC), the oil cooler lines r in the way and i cant get the 22mm BANJO BOLT off the bottom of the power steering pump..I tried tons of tools and nothing works its on too tight and im tring to change the power steering high pressure steering hoses..PLEASE help becaue i have been trying for hrs to remove this bolt..I have all kinds of swivels , short wrench-stubby 22mm and all others tool..NONE will work i cant get a socket on the bolt good as it facing down and falls off and the hoses are in the way..hope u can help..
I recently had my power steering pump go out in my e46 and upgraded from the LF20 to the LF30 however the pulley on the pump is misaligned with the other pulleys which is causing the belt to slip off and shred a little on the sides. The replacement pump pulley is plastic but would an aluminum pulley do the trick and line everything up so that the belt moves smoothly like it should? From what I'm getting from the video and others is that it probably would. Love your videos by the way. I'm a single mom in her 40's and bought a 325I a few years ago until the tranny died, but bought a 330I last year and your videos have saved me mounds of money with all of the DIY repairs!
Great video Jason. Thanks for posting. Not to be a pain in the side, but if you also add the Crankshaft Seal Guard, you eliminate ALL possibilities of ingesting the serpentine belt. $80 of insurance.
My belt already shredded off because of this but I had a plate guard for the crank pulley I bought this same pulley so I’m good . But it’s going to be a pain in the butt to reinstall everything because the previous owner stripped my tensioner pulley adjusting hole .
LOL! your bimmer would cost 2x-3x more, weigh 2x more & get less MPG if they stopped using plastics. ALL car & Truck mfg have moved to plastic for the last 30 years. All driven by the EPA
@@oldjarhead1125 yes true but there better engineering solutions out there. Not making critical components out of plastic is a start. Several manufacturers making turbos out of thermoplastics?! Whose dumbass idea was this? Well it’s been happening 🤦🏽 but most of the fuel savings are driven by innovations in aerodynamics because cars weigh 2-3 times heavier than they did 40 years ago. @@davidvenegasramirez6001 Your last statement is not true at all. Have you ever seen the famous Chevy Malibu vs Belair comparison? The Belair literally gets DEMOLISHED. So not exactly sure where you've heard older cars demolish modern ones...
I believe there was an updated subframe part number around mid 2008, which would have showed up in the 2009-2010 pre LCI models. I’m just repeating what I’ve read on the forums. I have not personally confirmed this in the junkyards yet. As I gain more real world experience I will be able to share it in later videos.
The brilliant BMW engineers put a plastic pulley that is a time bomb as a result of their over-engineering BS. Seems to me they couldn't care less of the problem that causes BMW owners down the road. Wonder why people are all ditching their BMWs, take the loss and buy some other cars.
You lost a lot of weight man! 😳 good job 👏🏽
Holly shit man ma boy 50 lost so much weight ! So happy for him:)

I used an Allen key to line the holes up. Informative video thanks 👍
Always thorough with the explanations and camera angles ... well done 👍🏾

good tip
I don't have this car, but your videos are nice to watch. I though admit that I miss to see E53 videos :)

I like replacing plastic parts with metal... I have done my oil filter cap, time to do the pulley ))).
Sweating over BMW’s, weight loss!!!
And hair :)

I've replaced both water pump and power steering pulleys with aluminum on my E46 and E38. Good insurance on any old BMW
Hi just wounding if you could suggest a good work shop manual I have a 2008 e88 135i australia right hand drive thanks
I watched this video already knowing how to do this just because. Brings back memories back into my 335 days. I don’t miss those haha

Great video, Jason! Thanks for sharing.
I have an e90 n52 engine tho. Will this also fit my car?
All n series engines use same psp.. other motors also.
@@BimmerMafia thanks but I totaled this car a few months back 😭🤕.
Will this need doing on 2008 Alpina B3 biturbo ?

The problem with BMW's is its profuse usage of plastic parts, that's the root of the problem.

BMW (and all makers) are forced to do it to meet the increasingly unrealistic mileage requirements.
Any thoughts on getting one of those aftermarket crankshaft seal guards?
Yes, that’s coming very soon!
The power steering pulley is what size screws
Is this a problem on all E90s or just ones with the N54 N55 engines?
All E90s. The engine block is the same. Pump in the same place.
been having a chirping sound.. hoping its this pulley & not the water pump. thanks!
Hey do you have any video to change steering pump at home?
Only pre LCI? Since you said 2007-2008

Is this to preventative for all e9x’s? Or just n54 cars?
All
Does anyone know if rod bearings are a problem on these engines? I know it’s a random questions lol.
Anyone know where i can get a automatic transmission for a 2001 325ci ? Been searching for a while.
I don’t got an e90 but I gotta support the E46 Jesus
I appreciate that. First time I’ve been called Jesus haha
What are you doing to make you lose weight like that? Hope it's not health problems. Sorry for offtop
