Hi Mark, I'm one of those persons whose intrigued by this product. I think about the forces on the door striker and is it up to the task? Plenty of reviews indicate it is so maybe I'm creating an issue that's not there. I do need to tie kayaks on my Colorado and currently try to balance on the seats etc. After 12mths, do you still find it handy to have in the car and/or any other issues with it? Thanks

Malcolm Lee I’m not an engineer mate, but I’ve seen no ill effects from it. I don’t use it much but it has come in handy. I think they’re good!
