great video! I've always been nervous about running accessories off both batteries (main - cb radio, stereo, lights etc; Aux - fridge etc.) I actually am wanting to run everything off the main battery, and have the auxiliary battery as purely a back up start battery. So no matter where I am or what has happened, I can always start the vehicle = peace of mind. If I'm wiring the sidewinder to suite this setup, would I run the positive wire from the main to the aux post on the sidewinder, instead of the main post as per normal?

I don’t think it’s a good idea to run everything off the main battery. If you wired it up ‘in reverse’ I reckon it wouldn’t charge the 2nd battery always. It senses the voltage of the main battery and opens when it reaches a set voltage. In your case if the 2nd battery voltage is too low the isolator won’t open.

I've got one of those in my ute. The relay inside it has started making chattering noise usually after the ignition is turned off, is that normal or does the isolater need to be replaced ?

Doesn’t sound great. Get in contact with ABR, they should be able to give you the right advice.

hi mate from Perth , how is you VSR isolator now, is it running good, i have 2006 pathfinder automatic can i used this some people say it should be Standard alternator or Smart alternator to be compatible with this , or etther both standard or smart i can use this VSR thanks.

It’s running great! I recently did a trip to the west coast and camped for a few days. Really good piece of equipment. As for if it runs on a smart alternator, I’m not sure. I’d suggest contacting ABR, they are very knowledgeable with 12v stuff.
