I hear alot of people argue how great FF8 is compared to other "classics" like FF7, FF9, FFX. Though I don't know why, I loved the way the combat was designed. You could truly break the game incredibly early if you understood the system well enough and where to get the necessary magic/items. I mean for gods sake, you can get the protagonist's ultimate weapon on disc 1 if you know how.
Though one thing I never hear anyone argue, is that FF8 had damn good music.
The problem for me is the magic system tied with junction system. They make magic no different than item. Then grind magic you need until 100 for junction is piss me of. Because of it, Im never cast any magic in this game. Second the limit break system is tied with your HP. So if your HP is low you can spam limit break all the time.
@@the13thjoker Let's not act like other FF games didn't have their issues. Regen in FF9 makes the game way too easy and the bosses in general were pretty weak in terms of hp. Plus the battle system was slow. Every game has its grind. Item systhesis and cards made keeping strong magic easy, not to mention attacking and gf are viable options to magic. It's not like you had to use it all the time.

Really? I don't hear a lot of people saying that, that FF8 is better than the others I mean. It's probably my favorite, but that never appeared to be an opinion shared by many, to me. It seems to me that each of the Playstation titles have their fanbases, and they widely overlap. I think they're all great. I find FF7, though awesome, to be a bit more boring than the others, I'm also a sucker for romantic subplots and I wish the game would have paired up Cloud with Tifa a bit more definitively, and while there's a few FF7 songs I love, there aren't as many in it's soundtrack that I love as much as other Final Fantasy games. With FF8, my favorite, the only problem I can think of off the top of my head is that if you work toward mastering the junction system, you can totally break the game. To be honest, that wasn't much of an issue for me because I liked blowing through some of the bosses like I was a god. XD

Omega Weapon...the only boss of Final Fantasy 8 that requires the following
Level 100 characters....Ultimate weapons and limit breaks....Death spell immunity....and a way to become invincible
when I saw the words: TERRA BREAKER at the top of the screen....I immediately knew that things had gone to hell real fast and sure enough, 5 seconds later after being pummeled by an endless fireball barrage...GAME OVER

Here's a tip: Terra Break does physical damage.

I havent played many final fantasy games but i must say their music is really good and your remixes makes it even better! Really enjoyed it keep it up!

Holy War is for losers. Just junction Death to S-Def. Go in with everyone in the yellow. Use Aura's or stones. Limit break him away before he can even cast Terra Break. (do need to heal up before Megido Flame, though. )

So i just played this and the OG version at the same time and it hit so hard it took me 2 days to wake up
This one is fucking dope. I have just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed, you deserve it. So far loving the FF ones, shame there are so few! Hoping you will release more in the future! The others from DS/BB are fucking amazing too! This song in particular is so intense and powerful, maybe because it reminds me of the insane battles of one of my favourite FFs ever.

You know a lot of people shit on 8 for obvious reasons but I have to give credit where credit is due, the music and art style was great.

VIII was my first FF. So I will always cherish it and recall it fondly. I loved the story, personally, though Squall was really annoying at times. The one aspect of the game that I disliked the most was the card game. Everything else, the GF system, the Draw system, the way you augmented stats with magic was really interesting. Plus, I loved the Tonberry GF...

I really enjoyed my way through FF8. My only problem was the junction system, more specifically just standing, letting enemies hit you while you sucking the magic out of them. Or you play cards and just steamroll through the game.

This has become my favorite regular boss fight music (as opposed to regular fight, alternate fight, climax boss, final boss, etc.).
Although I have to admit that there is something self-defeating about making a heavy metal cover of this particular track. There was a point in my life in which my tastes shifted from Iron Maiden (and I mean later Iron Maiden, when synthesizers became prominent) to Kansas. I never thought I would end up this way, but I actually started preferring those goofy organ sounds over the combination of electric guitar white noise and the smooth synth string sound that is so common to symphonic/power metal. So yeah, there you go. (I still never liked blues-based music though, which is probably why I could never get into progressive rock completely.)
But then the next year I went back to my roots of Genesis, and bleh. I don't even know where I stand anymore, other than "not blues or rock, and DEFINITELY not punk!"
I've been playing too much Elden Ring, I am expecting to see this boss in there soon...

You know, a lot of people shit on FFVIII for seemingly no good reason. Kingdom Hearts introduced me to the game when it came out and having played through a bit of it I don't particularly understand the hate. The magic system, I think, is one of the most welcome changes in my eyes. It adds extra strategy to how you utilize your magic. It's one of my absolute favourite parts of the game. FFVIII will always be my favourite in all honesty simply because of that.

I used a guide to find Omega, and in the same guide there was some GameShark codes ... I used some for HP regeneration and other stats boost.... when I rang the bell to summon Omega, my heart stopped for a second and said to me "You are not ready for this!" , yet I went down and faced Omega...
he killed me... while using GameShark codes...
simply the auto HP regeneration was not FAST enough to keep up with his damage... I closed the game and never used GameShark ever again
