Peugeot has officially pulled the covers off the new E-3008 and confirmed that the electric 'fastback' SUV will come with up to 435 miles on a full charge if you go for its largest 98kWh battery. With a plush, high specced interior the French brand is heading upmarket with this car and is set to compete in the same price bracket as models like the Kia EV6, Nissan Ariya and Audi Q4 e-tron.
It’s the first car to use an all-new underpinnings from the parent company Stellantis - which is big news when that parent has a LOT of children. Called the STLA Medium electric platform, it’s been designed with eclectic cars in mind - and when you bearing mind that the platform or underpinnings of a car are like the foundations of a house, that’s a good thing.
There’s a choice of two battery sizes all with decently fast 160kW DC charging and you can opt for front or all-wheel drive, with single or dual motors. But the real headline figure is a long-range version with that possible 435-miles of official range. According to our sums, that figure is only beaten by the £100,000 Mercedes EQS in the UK at the moment. But the Peugeot will cost considerably less, prices haven’t been confirmed yet, but expect them to start around £45,000 in the UK and head upwards from there.
The Standard Range model will use a 207bhp electric motor to drive the front wheels. A new 73kWh battery pack will give a range of 326 miles WLTP tested, and it has a charging speed of 160kW allowing a 20% to 80% top-up to be completed in 30 minutes. The Standard Range will get from 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds and top out at 105mph.

First rule of journalism school - when referring to a large number, precede it with “whopping”.
No, you've got to drop "propper" constantly.
Don’t forget to added a smattering of “game changing”
Don't forget the major opus Magnus principles , lie &manipulate the zzzzombies masses.PERIOD!!!
Ahh, I have just learnt how to say a whopping number in a proper manner, I swear this is game changing
When the current 308 launched, I immediately wondered, how are they going to beat this innovative and stunning design in the next generation? Well, with the evolutionary design of the new model they proved that they can be revolutionary every time. They have outdone themselves. Well done Peugeot!
👍🏾
My last fuel based car was a 2017 P3008, which I liked most of all 15 earlier cars I drove. Beautiful car, elegant inside, nice driving. I actually liked the iCockpit. After that I wanted to ‘go electric’ and ended up with the great Kia eNiro. A very good and efficient car, I will not return to fuel now, and intend to use most of the 7y guarentee period. But it stirs less emotion than the Peugeot. I fear for the price of this new 3008, but it definitively deserves another look if I would be in the market again ….
Thanks for the review. It is long past time that Stellantis actually stopped using combustion platforms for its EVs
Really liked our 3008 2019 model. We are definitely interested in the electric version for our next car after our Ioniq. Going to depend highly on price... Especially when a Tesla is competitive at those price points if correct.
Tesla is owned by putin's puppet elonmusk. So that is a no no.
A lot more interesting than something that looks like a catfish.
There's a reason they are cheap. New model 3 doesn't even have indicator stalks, try indicating on a roundabout using steering wheel buttons!
If the price was the same I'd go Peugeot all day long.
But a Tesla makes you look like a bit of a kn*b and you'll have funded Musk. Two awful.reasons for buying Tesla.
The other question is, do you want to finance musk's political agenda ? What do you think of him partially deactivating starlink to avoid upsetting putin ? What about his support of all the neo nazis, conspirationnists, homophobes, and all via twitter...X ?
All good ?
The car looks absolutely fantastic. Stunningly beautiful. Great, futuristic interiors too. Peugeot have levelled up big time. That should be applauded.
What a great looking car. Greats specs too. Amazing how Peugeot have transformed over the last few years
Please Peugeot make an e-308 station wagon and put the large battery in it. I would buy it like yesterday.
Yes, we need more choice in station wagons.
For the rest of the world that speaks metric, this comes up to these numbers:
700 km range
Consumption needs to be 140Wh/km (14.0kWh/100km)to get such a range. (4.4 miles / kWh)
It would be quite impressive if it did get that consumption even in good weather.
14kwh is reaaaally effienct for such a large car! I doubt most driver will be able to achieve such low numbers
Beautiful, I have a e2008 but will look at this in a couple of years.
An other fantastic Peugeot. The interior is simply astonishing!!! Great review!!!
This and the new ë C3 have to be the coolest looking electric cars.
Nicely presented, engaging and with good energy levels.
Looks like a genuinely interesting car, especially as my lease Mustang Mach-E finishes in 2024!
That leads me to one point in the review! When you mentioned the competition on range, you didn't mention the Mustang Mach-E RWD which is rated at 380 miles, and delivers well in the real world.
But the Peugeot does look very interesting. Thanks for the review.
There's nothing game changing about a nearly 100kwh battery coupled with an under powered piddly motor that only drives two wheels so it can't drain that battery too fast being able to go a reasonably long distance. Props to them for the design efforts, hopefully they can make it semi adorable, but they haven't changed the game.....at all.
Indeed! Takes longer to charge, costs more to charge. The only reason why ICE cars carry so much fuel that gives them range (historically) is because refuelling is inconvenient. You actually have to go somewhere to do it.
Well said
"under powered" what's with EVs making people suddenly think that family cars should be doing 0-100 in 4 seconds or they're slow
@@shroomyesc you're wrong. The long range model they're referring to as "game changing" has a massive battery and accelerates from 0-100 in about 9 seconds. Listen to it again.
@@lukeryan559 Okay, and? Your average ICE crossover takes like 10 seconds. 9 seconds is pretty normal and being a modern EV the pickup is probably better.
Great review, as usual Ginny. Not sure it's a game changer in the wider EV community, maybe for Peugeot themselves, but a welcome addition to the ever growing range of mid-size EVs. One things for sure you somehow definitely managed to p**s off that woman waiting behind you to clean the car for the next journalist..😂
Wait, is Ginny absolutely tiny, or is that car enormous??😅
If it's capable to do 500 kms of real world highway drive with 120-130 km/h, Than this will be a great hit! 👍
Good review of an interesting car. The key test will be how the long range version drives with all that extra weight.. Also the Stellantis group has grouped together a lot of car manufacturers that have a history of poor reliability so hope that is now sorted. Design wise it looks good
it looks sharp, i quite like it
Hi Ginny. Thx for a great video.
I just bought an E3008 GT. I will have it delivered on July 27. I can hardly wait. I think it's great to drive.
Looking extra Stunning today Ginny cars nice too 😁😉
I like the car. Price seems high. New platform needs to be great to save stellantis.
Not just the EQS. The Fisker Ocean has a WLTP of 440 miles and a £62k price tag.
The price and range sound good. In the states, I don't expect that price to hold true. Thanks for the video.
When was the last time a Peugeot was sold in the states?
@@vernonhampton6973 are you tracking cars that close? When did the Peugeot stop selling in the US?
Peugeot doesn't have a date to re-launch in the States ...it's pending though.
You could buy it in Mexico though probably.
At last, some common sense i.e. thinking about range. With newer, sportier electric cars recently announced, what is the point of being able to go from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds when the car only has a range of about 200 miles, when the UK charging system is still pretty hopeless. Probably all advocates of those cars live in London and their longest journey is only 30 miles (and not sure where you can show off the 0-60 speed - probably on the M4 on the way to Heathrow to get their flight to Dubai, certainly not thinking about a holiday driving down to Cornwall). When charging an electric car takes the same time as filling up a car with petrol then range will not be an issue, but that won't be for many, many years.
The wheels look amazing in motion, giving added dimension and drama to the view. This is something we cannot say about many vehicle designs.
Don’t care about what the wheels look like in motion. Omg drama!! Peugeot engineers all over this channel. Next someone will call it an astonishing design.
maybe it’s cause i’m high asf but those wheels are tripping me out when they spin.
One I've been watching for some time as I have a 2017 3008 and love it. Looks great, awesome range, lets see if they price themselves out of consideration or not.
I couldn't agree more. Given that I love my 2017 3008 SUV, I will certainly consider this electric version.
Keep your 2017 model
It will last many more years
And spend the money saved by not changing your car on as many holidays as you can
Thank me later 👍
I like it already. Waiting for specs.
A big battery means longer charging times, not so much range, things don’t always scale in that dimension. What you want is a small battery with a very efficient electric motor. Given their 0-100 figures I can already guess this isn’t a very efficient car, given the size of that battery for the long range vehicle.
The charging times are fast. Also you don't see efficiency by checking the acceleration, but by checking the range and battery size...
Very nice inside and out. I like the driver cockpit too, I have always preferred a bit of separation from the passenger.
Another good review. The car is impressive.
We will have our current Citroën ë-c4 for another 2 years but I do like to keep an eye on potential replacements when the time comes. The current favourite would probably be the Skoda Enyaq but this one might replace it. Looking forward to seeing the full reviews
how are you satisfied with C4? cause, I believe that it is unfairly overlooked and unappreciated car by the general public.... I like its a bit "left field" design and a comfort oriented philosophy, and I might change my slightly aging DS3 for it...
@@mirkozlikovski9553 it's been great. It wasn't on our list at first because I was wanting a "ground up" EV. But I then started watching some reviews and thought it would work for us. It was a very quiet and comfortable drive.
The Citroën app is not great but we live with that
Just some anicdotal evidence, but the neighbour has a Enyaq as a company car and has nothing but trouble with it. it's been replaced 3 times already, won't charge, they take it away update the software, works for a few weeks then breaks again. Replace and repeat.
@@asambi69 My Enyaq hasn't been that bad, but the heat pump compressor died after 3 days & took over a month to fix (after an 11month delivery!) the software and app are garbage and they want me to pay £270 to switch on auto dipping headlights! A shame because it's a lovely car to drive, better quality than the ID.4 and more interesting than the Q4. If I bought it now it would be the same price as a Model Y so just no contest. The future looks cloudy for VAG.
I'm really pleasantly surprised by this. My only issue with all of these cars becoming electric is their availability on the Motorbility scheme. The 3008 is a staple car on the scheme and has a decent enough deposit. This electric version is so expensive in comparison to buy that it either won't be available or it will have a deposit of thousands of pounds.
We need more sensibly priced electric cars that every day people can afford and Motability will be able to stock.
Just wait for next gen e208 wich will use BEV only platform
I’ll get one when it’s depreciated like a lead balloon 🎈 after a year, I have the petrol 3008 now. A brand new petrol allure is £31000
I really like my 2008. This new 3008 looks a bigger version of 2008 and looks really beautiful.
I have an 2008, does it really look like and 2008? 2008 looks great, this looks great but to me they are not very alike.
@@TrueSkeptic77 i think yhe front facia is a ditto copy of 2008. But looks are subjective no doubt
Nice looking car , can’t believe it will anywhere as efficient as they say
If it looks like a brick, it won’t. There must be a peugeot engineer commenting on this channel. Called it astonishing lol. Astonishing in that peugeot engineers have no concept of aerodynamics.
Even if it achieves 80% efficiency, it'll still be a 350 mile charge which is on par with some petrol SUVs
It's not efficienet, but have a big battery 98kWh, I would like to see Tesla Y long range with 85-95kWh battery
@@user-dd4op6ip3sI have an IONIQ 5, average 4.1 miles/kWh - mostly slow city and B roads, much less on the motorway. Even at 4.1 with a 100kwh battery, you’re not going to hit the 435. And let’s face it, the time you really need the long range is road trips using motorways. I’m guessing closer to 350 in those conditions
@@MandyFlameI went to Wales and back on holiday in my MG4 a fortnight ago, all motorway, just drove normal speeds, even faster at some points, climate on auto to not get too warm. 500 miles round trip, 4.1 KWH.
this is not a car, but a piece of ART. I am the owner of FUSO NEW 308(diesel).한국에서
We will see after a real independent road test. Looks good though!
Just beautiful and outstanding design both interior and exterior .... Nothing comes close to such a beautiful Peugeot 3008 E. Just subscribed to your channel .... I will buy the Peugeot 3008 E in a heartbeat xoxoxo
I’ve just ordered one on Motability and cannot wait for it to arrive. Motability are even installing a charging unit at our home for no extra cost. I strongly advise if you are in the scheme to move to electric as your next lease due to the combustion engine being phased out in the next 6-8 yrs. so new cars will be electric.
It’s a beautiful car, I have one on order…… can’t wait
Love that steering wheel on the 2008.
Nothing new. I've had a flat steering wheel like that for years. It's on my bike called handlebars. 😂
As Citreon share there design platforms with Peugeot, l wonder if the slopping back design comes from the current C4. The new 3008 looks great .
I hope Peugeot gets it priced competitively.
Active thermal battery management? Heatpump? Coefficient of drag? Charging speed?
It looks huge with Ginny standing next to it! 😜
Ginny looking extra nice here 😊😊
435 miles would do great in the US. Hopefully Stellantis brings it over under a different mark since we don't have Peugeot
thats just brilliantly designed car, inside and out, definitely on my wishlist for my next electric car (hopefully by then it will be bit cheaper than that possible starting price of mid 40k)
Magnifique, aussi la voiture
I really love the look of this inside and out, would like some proper buttons mind you. We know it will not do 435miles however 350+ for this size of car is still good.
More like 250. Mercedes EQS claims 450 but in reality it’s 250
@@1jakedizzle you make a good point, actually your right haha 250.
I was kinda going by my Ioniq 5, its meant to be approx 300 I get between 250 -280.
Impressive range with the shoe box front end. Imagine the rage with an aero front end.
Doesn't really make a notable difference. The e-niro achieves 4.5 mi/kWh easily and isn't aerodynamically shaped at all
Aerodynamics more affected by rear styling as well hence fastback design so air leaves car cleanly without turbulence creating a backwards drag on the car. Hence Teardrop designs. Trouble is Peugeot have forgotten an SUV was originally chosen as a large load carrier. Fastback styling ruins this practicality.
@@CosyP it has the same boot space as the old one
@@yitzele that’s because they are now including the space below the boot floor as she said boot space would be less in dual motor model. It is just PR spin to con you into thinking it is as good as before. It can’t have the full height over most of the boot floor like before due to sloping roof. It is design over function.
Switched off when I heard the price!😳
The design like vehicle beyond planet...👍👍👍👍👍
Seems like a step in the right direction but underwhelming compared to the Fisker ocean, especially regarding starting price
An astonishing car. Great design job!
Great review, thanks Ginny. I noticed you looked totally dwarfed by the front seats when you were sitting in the back. Might not be the greatest car if your rear occupants are prone to car sickness.
She has to be well under 5ft.
@@MasterChief37She said 5’4”.
@@SgtSlapmaster my wife is 5’3, she looks shorter than that.
@@MasterChief37 Oh okay I guess the reviewer doesn’t know her own height.
@@SgtSlapmaster short women lie about there heights 😀😀
My that’s a big car , in England with our pothole problem, the next one will be wider roads 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm from California, but I imagine we will get these re-branded. Stellantis has a big HeadStart over GM/Ford.
Nice videos with proper English lass in a dress, very nice.
I don't believe the official range for a second but 98 kWh should be enough to do acceptable distances between stops on a long holiday drive, which would be quite relevant to a lot of prospective clients in mainland Europe. A cabin where young kids can comfortably stay for 2-3 hour stints, without dipping too far below 20% range and thus have more options of when and where to stop to charge.
Well Ginny it looks very nice inside and outside and can’t wait to see it, it looks very big next to you lol x ❤
最近兩首歌曲風都好正,加油!
Peugeot are starting to make good looking cars and if those range figures are accurate, wow, it is a game changer.
As an aside, walking around the rear of the car looked like it was either the camera lens / angle or has Ginny shrunk, or..... is the E Peugeot 3008 HUGE!! 🤣
"starting to make good looking cars"....Excuse me, have you been sleeping for 10 years ? Peugeot has been making GREAT looking cars since 2014. The 508, the 2008, 3008, etc... They have levelled up big time since 2012-2014. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Fair enough, it's all pretty subjective.🙂
@@anonymouspdg6121 No, it's not. Peugeot have won countless awards in multiple countries since 2012, "car of the year", etc... "Most beautiful design", etc... their cars sell very well in all Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria. Do some research before posting comments online, thank you very much.
You are right, Peugeot have won many awards but then so have many other manufacturers, Audi, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, VW etc.etc. Who is to say which of these is the 'best car'?
That's what makes this all so interesting and fun, they all have their own style, strengths and weaknesses.
We all have our own opinions, feelings and needs about what is the best car. The variety of manufacturers exist because they meet these differences of opinions.
There is no right or wrong, and this is how it should be. 🙂
Not sure what the rest of the country is like but around Yorkshire most of the dealerships have disappeared. I have a 5008 and it's a right pain servicing it etc
Although it's still a good range, the real range is 323 miles not 425. WLTP is unrealistic.
just fabulous
Absolutely stunning and the car ain't bad either😁
What is the cost of the long range version? 430 miles of range is very impressive, but 98kWh is likely to make it costly
handsome style and look!
Has it still got the cat paw massage option for the seats?
IMO range is not the most important. And it is not acceleration either. It is the infrastructure. The infrastructure is crucial for comfortable journeys across Europe. Currently, there is only one brand that really cares about this aspect of the customer experience. I have been driving across Europe in 3 different EV, now I have fourth one (TMY) and I finally can travel stress-free. 👍
Ah yes the average person is always driving across Europe several times a week 😂😂
@@neilmick6778 The AVERAGE person doesn't need 500-600 km of range either.. 😀
Well, I own a 2018 BMW i3 94 Ah with (only) 245 km range) and I have travelled stress free from Holland to the north of Italy and back. In fact it was a more zen experience then all the time I made this trip in an ICE care.
Looks huge.
What an amazing, stunning car!
Just can't get over this look
Super impressive design ❤
It looks great. Isn’t it funny that digital displays/screens (and TVs) are still measured in inches (not metric). Two important questions: towing limit? And how dog-friendly is the boot? There aren’t many EVs with decent room for my golden retriever!
Ginny, that little voice in your head, ssshhh, that's Nicola 😂
I had an ICE 3008 before my E C4 and a very good car it was too. However I really don't like those screens stuck on top of the dash. Also WHY has it suddenly become a thing to have black headlining? So depressing and claustrophobic. Renault started this in the Megane E Tech, the new Kona has it for the UK market (not apparently in Ireland and certainly not in Korea) and now this and the new Scenic. I don't want to drive around in the dark!
Can't be arsed with companies that don't put a rear wash/wipe on.
A game changer for me is something that costs less than £35,000
The back looks like it taken inspiration from the jaguar i-pace
neat and sporty look. important delicious
When we will you be giving this a full review on the road?
The mere mention of Stellantis closes my wallet, never has so many crap brands come under one roof, walk away people.
There's always a hater!!!!!
wheels need a rethink, rear end is a work in progress...liking the 40/20/40 rear split..
Looks awesome
Great video
She is driving on the proper left side!
Absolutely stonkin'... cars not bad too.
But why oh why did they change the Peugeot badge???
Peugeot are experts at interiors, I am always impressed but I am often disappointed in the electrics. We will see what its real world numbers are like and how much they have improved. I they pull it off then it is actually looking pretty good for the French car industry.
No rear wiper?
The design will take a bit of getting used to, that front is a bit messy, like there were a few bits left over and, well...."stick 'em on the front somewhere".
That will fade over time though as it becomes a more regular sight on the roads. I still haven't taken to the kids toyshop tin badge that Peugeot have adopted, lacks a bit of substance to my eyes compared with the old one but again, just a matter of getting used to it.
It's from the ever improving Stelantis group. Bound to be a good car, despite the slightly 'cheeky' pricing - at the end of the day it's a Peugeot.
Welcome EV choice - E3008 looks very good compared to competition - price will be important
So the rear seats slide back and forth? Because that centre console protruding so far back seems like a joke
I agree that’s the next level interior. Definitely like the details when will something like that come to America? Chrysler ram Dodge all have cheap plastic interiors put together in cheap blocks of poor design.
Very honest review 👍👍😊
Stellantis own all 3 of those brands so I’m sure once they start releasing new models you’ll notice a difference.
@@CharlieGB03 I hope you’re right but I’m skeptical.
@@CharlieGB03 That might not change much because it's a matter of price, Chrysler Ram and Dodge are pretty cheap cars compared to Peugeot overpriced models
I would like see this car on the road
Amazing car
I wince when I hear the words 'possible Tesla beater' or variants of which I seem to hear a lot on EV channels. A very impressive beast, love the design, hope the WLT is accurate...
Kindly asking: if you post a video on a global platform and mention range, would you mind showing or mentioning it in metric too? The whole world is not only UK and USA.
