The thing about how much boost to run is that boost out of different turbos are different. Most people boosting the vqs are gonna be using similar turbos but still. 8 psi is kinda arbitrary, although a good guideline. Seen too many people, especially in comments, speak of boost in absolutes without any mention of turbo size
Hi there. I was just wanting to ask you for your opinion on something. I own a 350z which has a DE motor and have been boosted for just under a year. Recently we put a much larger rear turbo housing on it as the previous one was too small and not allowing the car to pull the power through the revs. We now have an ar.82 on the back and flows much much better. We had the car tuned 2 days ago and made way more power than we intended to make. We made 336kw and 556nm on 0.5bar boost at the crank. The motor does have custom headers and head porting so it works really well. I really don't want to blow the motor as the torque is rather high. Would you recommend turning the boost down and getting it retuned or do you think it is safe where it is as it is not a daily drive? Any assistance from your side would be much appreciated. Love the videos. Keep it up.
Sup bro just bought a boosted 350z DE. I was wondering if you can help me out with some questions. I found some black speckles in the coolant reservoir and there’s some white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Could just be a coolant leak. But the speckles, I really don’t know what it could be unless it’s a blown valve cover gasket or headgasket. I just wanna diagnose the problem or maybe it’s shavings from the turbo since it’s brand new
Michael Brown mate it’s been 10 years since I got it but I think it is the 4 T3, Precision are awesome, I called them and they answered all my questions.
Hey I was just interested in some advice if possible. I am in the market looking to get a 350z and I want to "futureproof" myself. I know for a fact I wont get into turbocharging it for a few years maybe. From the 3 engine options, I've done my research on them but I just want to ask if a DE is even worth it as far as future proofing. Ultimately I am going for the HR but if a DE can get the job done too I'd rather save a few thousand bucks you know? You said you had yours for about 10 years and that's amazing! However my goal honestly is just to make 500hp on the car when I am done with it down the road. I just want your opinion on it if possible. Thanks.
The HR is a stronger base engine so honestly it’s worth the extra money, a DE won’t last at 500whp, you’d have to build the block and that’s expensive mate.
Are there any turbo kits for the 2008 VQ35DE's? I've been thinking about building up the block in my M35 and going single turbo for a fun street car to and from work but I only see kits for de's from 03-06 nothing for the 08
Great build. We have a 2007 350Z HR boosted also. I would love to send you the spec sheet of all the mods so you can give me your professional opinion and recommendation. Our tuner is very conservative and has us at 8.5psi of boost and 480 Whp 410 ft/lbs torque. It is a stock block with 48k miles on it and all cylinders have 210psi compression reading. Give or take a few psi +/- per cylinders. We are running a Precision Turbo 6266 gen2 ball bearing T3 Vband with a .82 AR. CJM fuel rails, fuel return system CJM fuel hat, custom turbo kit with forward facing manifold FIC1200cc injectors with a 525lph walbro hellcat fuel pump OEM GT-R spark plugs, running only E85. ATI Super Damper, 100psi capable fuel pump regulator, radium fuel pressure gauge, Koyorad racing radiator, 25 row setrab oil cooler/ thermostatic. Setrab transmission oil cooler. Uprev flashed ECU. We have all innovate digital gauges, digital boost controler with AFR and shift Light, 4 in 1 Guage for Ethenol content, fuel Temp, AFR and boost, oil pressure Guage and oil temp Guage, and a transmission fluid temperature Guage. Transmission valve body has been upgraded with a shift kit and final drive gear rear diff is currently a 3.3 we had a 3.7 when we were NA but with the turbo we went back to a 3.3. wondering if with this set up we would be safe pushing 525whp and do you recommend to go back to the 3.7 rear diff. We currently use 305/40/18 E/T Mickey Thompson SS tires in the rear. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you..
Juan Mederos he there mate. Ok 8.5 is right on the limit for boost, I think the HR would be ok at 9ish from what I’ve read but the DE is good at 8psi. The AR’s are pretty big so you will have turbo lag so the 3.7 final would be better to get off the line if you want to drag it.
@@HARRISVLOGNATION thanks, I think you're right 9ish would put me right at the sweet spot of 525whp. Yes, we use the car as a daily but we take it to the track to drag race it 1/4mile. Current 60-130mph with a 3.3 FD is 9.8 seconds. With the 3.7 do you think it will improve my 60-130 performance without having to increase the boost?
Awesome video totally agree . Bro mind to share more details how I can get the full set ? I’m in malaysia hope can still able get the kit and tune .... thanks bro
Would you run this same kit if you had to do it all over again? Also when you rebuild the motor are you going to mod the kit anymore, like a bigger down pipe?
I own a imported z33 03 from Japan I don’t think there’s a difference between the n/a version so I would imagine I could turbo it just like a de I’m not sure? Is there a difference?
I want to turbo my HR but I have no idea what Im doing. And I have a hard time trusting the mechanics out here. I can I email you? Im ready to start this process and I want to do it right.
Great video! Hope you are well. I got a quick question involving AC on the Turbonetics kit. What have you done to avoid burning the AC hard line closest to the down pipe? I have the same kit but I’m just looking for information on how to manage it. Thanks
I’m getting to the point with my hr where I’m ready to boost it and this video helped out a lot 👍

go for it man, want to do the same. let me know how it goes
Question what exact 6262 turbo do you use can i get a link it would be a big help
im about to pick up a 350z project car. been looking around forums to see what people think of turbo z's

Interesting and good video! Cool shit
luckily i was able to get a piping kit from some random company. but was able to get a real turbonetics turbo, wastegate and bov
That’s good mate, have fun :)
Great video man do you any good single turbo kits for the hr engine ive only seen twin kits keep up tho good work tho
Thanks mate and honestly no I don’t know of any because of the twin intake. Thanks for the kind words mate :)
Probably a rear or mid mount turbo kit. RZG Motorsports in NC has these for sale
Awesome vid!
Ty so much mate :)
you can modify the oem MAF to give you a wider range of values using a voltage divider circuit.
I didn’t know this, thanks man

Glad I could help mate :)
Was the precision turbo a direct drop in replacement for the turbonetics turbo that comes with it ?? I’m thinking about going with a 6262

You mentioned AR size on your precision 62/62 what size is the exhaust side? Turbonetics uses a t3 inlet so its either .63 or .82 most likely ?
.82 sir
