YESSS!!! I DID IT!!!! at first i thought i couldn't do this because i was chubby but i WAS WRONG!!!! i'm legit almost crying of happiness XD THANK YOU sosososososo soooo much for this detailed and helpful video.
I've been struggling with crow pose for such a long time after doing yoga regularly for months. Everytime I watch a tutorial, I throw my hands up in frustration. I finally started focusing on core and upper body strength recently to help with this, and still struggle with my balance. I watched this video today, and was able to do the pose for a few seconds at a time! This is a big deal to me, and I feel confident enough to get better with time. Thank you for explaining clearly and being so encouraging.
@@chipschneipps609 I just go with my favorite RUclips yoga instructors that have upper body and core strength videos on top of my regular yoga practice. I'm not hardcore about it, I just keep practicing. I still don't have the crow pose down but can do it on a good day. Practice, practice, practice. Don't give up! That advice is also a reminder for me. :)
I have been practicing this for a while (with little success!) I just managed to do this pose today thanks to this video! What you said about the fear of falling helped and today I fell a few times before I managed to do it! A lot of it came from allowing myself to trust my body, it was a small shift in thinking but it came with a significant result so thank you! Xx
Thank you. That was very encouraging. I've been doing yoga everyday for 3 months and have noticed that I've gotten stronger and more toned. I feel like challenging myself with this pose. And I'm so glad to hear that it took you years.
I started with frog pose and then one day I busted out crow pose for the first time! I even kicked back into chaturanga!! But it took months of wrist strengthening for me. Which was my weakest link.
That was a really good explanation of the pose. I tried it for the first time yesterday and thought I cannot do this. But after your explanation I feel that with effort it is possible. Greetings from Scotland.
I have practiced yoga for years and been trying to do crow for five months and this video made it click!!! When you said to stop fearing falling I got it!! Now to figure out holding it longer 😂
This was soooooo helpful. Im teaching crow in my class tomorrow and this is amazing tips. Also the fact that you are doing it AND explaining for that entire time is so impressive. Thank you so much !!!
You’re such a great teacher for someone like me who is just beginning. I’ve always been athletic and into fitness, but resistant to yoga. I’m finding my body likes it as I get older and need the practice with flexibility. Thank you for great videos!!
wow, that block on the head was so useful. i know you said you dont recommend it but its a good way personally for me to get a feel of the pose. love it somuch!
I just love this tutorial! I wish there were an option to upload the clip of me attempting this while watching quite some time later. You explained in a way that helped me distribute my weight more effectively and I finally realized where I was going wrong each time and I was able to hold for 8+ seconds this time lol! Thank you!
I tried getting into crow after over a year & what a disaster it was🙈 & then I looked up ur tutorial. Though I have been practicing yoga for 2yrs. now... My body is still not very flexible... Blame it on me never moving for 30yrs. Of my life... Tight hips, stiff back... But m getting there... No qualms... Ur 2nd tutorial worked... My body suddenly remembered it & I succeeded in getting into it... Only for a few secs. but m happy... Gonna practice it everyday... Thanks Kassy... You are a saviour ❤️❤️❤️ Have been practicing yoga with u for the past 2yrs. An absolute fav guru🙏🤗
This is my first youtube comment ever but I have to say I JUST DID CROW!! I've tried so many times before in studio classes for months and months, but this tutorial was the game changer and broke down everything so well. Thank you so much!!!
This was one of the finest yoga tutorials that I have seen for Bakasana.amazing .I am trying to increase my upper body strength.I can see how important this pose is as the foundation for arm balances. I finally have the proper idea of what I have to do in order to master this pose.Thank you so much🙏.
this was SO helpful! i was able to do it for just a few seconds! and yes i did fall on my head lol, that's ok, the tricky part for me is getting the knees to go up high enough -- the yoga block tip helped! thank you so much
Hi Kassandra, I truly appreciate your classes. Your tutorials have been incredibly helpful in correcting my posture and getting the most out of my workout. I would love it if you could provide tutorials for all the major complex positions. While you do cover these in your videos, having specific guidance on where to place our weight and how to align our bodies would be immensely beneficial. For instance, pigeon pose is a favorite of mine, but I've been practicing it for years and still feel unsure about my form. It would be fantastic to receive detailed instructions from you on how to properly execute it for maximum benefit. Similarly, poses like downward dog and triangle pose could greatly benefit from your expert guidance. Looking forward to your future videos. Thank you for all that you do! Take care,
I'm on my first day of learning how to do this and girl let me just say this video makes me feel so much better about not knowing how to do it right away! will be using this daily!!
My dear Lady you are amazing talking and doing the crow you’re great. Now I am going to try this pose I have been doing yoga for many years but this 1 pose is hard for me I use to be able to stand on my head but 4 years ago I tried it and heard cracking noises I didn’t know at that time I had degenerative disc problem in my neck so I cannot stand on my head anymore but I will try the crow I am 65 years but I still do my yoga and meditation regularly but my fibromyalgia pain get in my way on some days. So if you can be kind enough to do some extra poses for older people with limitations due to arthritis and osteoporosis joints pain the reason is because I have realized the more you do poses the pain becomes less.Namaste thank you 🙏
Thanks Kassandra :D You're an excellent teacher. I got this 5 mins through the vid... Gonna keep practicing :D Thank you so much! Keep up the great classes and enlightening tutorial vidz. I would love some inverted, headstand tutorials :)
Omg I DID IT!!!! FUCK YEAH! the combination of this video plus tutorial by Man Flow Yoga (even though I'm not a man) finally allowed me to do crow pose. Rocking back and forth helped a ton. I can't hold the pose for super long but this is he first time I got both feet off the ground
Hi Kassandra! It would be so great if you could do a tutorial for basic pigeon pose. My shin is never parallel to the mat, I don’t know if my hip is too high from the ground or if my overall alignment is just wonky. I’ve been watching your videos and doing your practices for years. I’d love your help!
Excellent advice!!! Thank you Kassandra !! Worked the very first time :-) Your tip with the arms and elbows did the magic. And of course the fear issue ;-)
Yoga teacher here... did you manage by now? Tip: don't push your knees hard into your arms, this is just for stability. The strength of holding your knees up must come from your core :) try some cat poses and really draw your navel in for a warm up.
I’m relatively new to yoga, I only started at the beginning of this year. I’m so proud of myself for being able to do this pose just for a few seconds! You inspire me so much to take a leap of faith and trust in myself that I am capable. Thank you so much for being you 😄🫶
At first, yes. Once you build more core strength you'll be able to control the weight distribution more and have more "lift" in your lower body so that the knees don't dig into the arms as much. Keep practicing :)
@@aliciacc8632 I'm a student myself, and I have the same arm pain. I think that comes from limited core strength and overall flexibility, so I'm working on that. The one-foot-raise (at 5:05 in the video) is something you can do alternating between each foot; it's hard enough to be an exercise on its own, so stick with that for a while. When raising both feet off the ground (at 5:29), a suggestion from another RUclips teacher is to do small "pulses" -- that is, lift your feet off the ground, hold for 3 seconds, and then go back down; that's one rep. Do up to 12 reps, and 3-4 sets, with a minute of rest in between each set. When I started out, I could only do a few reps, I can now do 3 sets of 12 reps (with great difficulty!). Good luck! jz
Alicia Liñan -try flattening your shins against the upper arm. Right now you are driving your knees into the tricep (which isn’t yet strong enough). Another approach is to try to bring the knees UP into the armpits, thinking of not touching the triceps.
Namaskar, Kassandra. I find your tutorial videos very informative and I love the way you break each asana into different segments. Keep up the super work. Love & light ❤️🕉️👌

You explained I it really well, on my first 2 attempts I fell straight onto my face after about 3 seconds 😂 I still accasionly fqll, but when I do, I don't mind because I feel like I've got better at it 😂 Thank you xx
2 questions Should the knees and legs be in line with the arms, or on the outside of the arms? Should they knees be squeezing in while doing this or should all the tension be in arms and hands/fingers? I seem to rememberyou saying in previous videos to squeeze like theres a big beach ball in there Thanks!
I did it! Loved this video. Thank you! Question though... my knees pressing into the back of my arm hurts pretty bad. Is that normal in the beginning or am I doing something wrong?
Jan 30 ,now as I'm finally trying crow pose I can see lots of variation which can be so helpful like using wall to put my legs on , folded blankets in front of me ( so if I fall I don't break my spects ) 😅
