Everything is nice, BUT what actually really bothers me is this beautiful, extravagant bathroom set does not include a matching BATH. If we wanted to do more historical build, people in the era of the Art Nouveau style id not actually use showers that much, baths were dominant. So for me, the lack of bath in this set is the notorious ball pit of this pack.
Oh my god, I hadn’t even though of that. Hopefully the vampire bath might work with this pack?

I hate that they cut corners with the kitchen so often. Just forgo the trillionth bar and concentrate on a good kitchen set, please.
Yeah as much as I like having a bar I want a complete and non corner cut kitchen because 9 times out of 10 the bar whilst it matches the aesthetic of the pack it comes with it does not go with the counters which irritates me to no end and now they are getting lazy and just giving us old items that have been recolored.

Exactly I personally NEVER use bars at all! Other than once or twice they are useless for me
I think you’ll always get a bar with a new world because they always make a bar in the new world.. and it’s themed specifically for each world. They already make it for the theming so they may as well give it to people.
You dont even see the cabinets anyways i prefer a island and counter then nothing at all

@@coraoso first thing I imagined while watching this was about a dozen of people scrambled around one desk, looking intensely into the computer monitor with widened eyes, profusely sweating to the point where their heads look like they've just been washed, their hearts racing while waiting to see what'll come out of semaj's mouth next, and at the end of the review, all of them exhaling loudly as if they just finished tour de France so they needed a moment to recollect themselves, some maybe even crying of happiness. Celebration takes place, someone pops the champagne and another person wheels in a chocolate cake. They just completed an ultimate goal. Making Semaj happy with new content and getting a positive review as a reward. Legend says this happens only once in each Sims new game franchise.

I'm quite disappointed there aren't more little decoration objects, especially in a magical context, to clutter the houses some more in theme. :/
That being said, the objects that ARE in the pack, seem really nice and i can't wait to build my first witches home!

There are actually a lot of base-game and other pack items that you can do with this! Like I have a magical build right now, and I don't own this magical pack.
I guess there will be a lot in the Debug Mode..maybe.

I was thinking there would be a spellbook stand, or at least a piece of furniture to put a book on and pretend

And art nouveau is a beautiful architectural style, but kind of wasted if we can't have city buildings matching the theme.
hopefully some sims cc creators make a matching cabinet, bath, and child and toddler beds...
Toddler stuff is just generally forgotten. Barely any packs have toddler items

Art Nouveau was actually the style that the elven buildings / furniture are based upon.
And it fits perfectly.
This is the only art style for me that really incorporates natural elements into the items.
Like those "flowing" lines, which resemble tree branches etc.

Lol, I was expecting more of a modern European classical style of build items or at least some of that type added to the pack, instead of this style. Which seems a bit more of either extreme Goth or Wizard style.

the fact that you can make a big vat of mac & cheese in the cauldrons makes the pack 100% worth it for me

So I love the objects. The beds and dresser are by far my favorite. However, I am disappointed about not having matching cabinets to the kitchen counters and no bath tub to match the bathroom. D:
I love this pack, but doesn't the coffee table just look like a recolored get famous table? I would've preferred like a tree table or smth
The art style for the build items is 1920's Art Nouveau.

Btw, Art Nouveau is around 1900. 1920 and 30's is Art Déco. ^_^

I do love how art deco/nouveau this whole pack is, especially since Vampires and Romantic Garden Stuff took care of most of the victorian and gothic looking items already that I'd want for a witchy build.
I would buy this pack solely for that bassinet lemme tell ya

I prefer more realism in my gameplay and I wasn’t going to buy this pack; however, the build/buy items had me at hello! You gave me some ideas for builds. Can’t wait to use the new windows and doors!
PixelatedTwix I was on the fence about the storyline and didn’t really want another RPG with magic tied in, but the BB items were too good to pass up - they can be glam, they can be eco... they’re freakin great.

The big round windows reminded me of The Hobbit, i loved the buy/build of this pack! so much detail and the designs are so gorgeous, almost makes me forgive them for not having anything for kids/todds.
honestly i would really prefer if they added recolors to existing items like with the IL toilet, the catalog would be a lot more organized and easier to find items i think
James should totally do a challenge where he's not allowed to use any black or white in a build

I was today years old when I realized that Island living had a toilet. I legitimately thought it was just the tub sink and shower and thought it was really dumb they didnt make a toilet 😂🙃

I think that door with the massive frame would be really nice for a fancy green house! Something to mix with like, romantic garden stuff.
I think that if you turn the big circular window around it will just be a circle so I’m not mad at it ✌🏼and then just hide that bottom thing behind some table or plants or whatever

If we’re gonna point out the counters are just recolors, we need to address the fact that the bar is also just a recolor. A whole kitchen of recolors.

Most of build buy looks stunning to me. My only wish is that there would be spells and so on that did something we can't already do in the game. I need new unique gameplay to match the beautiful worlds. :)

High Elven architecture was inspired by it very strongly.
Out of pure laziness I watched a 50 minute ad during this video (it was really sweet tbh, brought a tear to my eye) but it didnt buffer once until I got to the actual video when it become super spotty and I just needed to share that, lol. Still love and always look forward to your videos!

I really love the b&b stuff. Not only match the doors and windows that come in really nice swatches, they also come in plain swatches. That one big door on the right with the whimsical wood inlay or elegant gold inay, I can really see myself use this. And that four poster bed is just epic. And can we talk about a one tile dresser? So useful in many builds! And small sidetables are also a big plus for me, a lot of those look really chunky next to sofas, so it's really useful to get more dainty ones.
I think you can sit at the Abra-ca-Table with bar stools (like the high top Dine Out tables). Or at least that’s how I saw one set up in one of the “interesting-looking” Glimmerbrook premade homes. It was a tiny detail I saw and none of the youtubers appeared to notice.

Can you shrink the cauldrons and keep their function? They’re pretty huge.

I love the black and white swatches for this pack, it has the feel of a refurbished or reupholstered vintage/thrifted piece.
Oooh. Never looked throuht build stuff before. But those bedroom and bathroom stuff.. Lets build a classic "Grand Hotel"

Some of the furniture makes me think of elves or hobbits, so at least it can be used for a bunch of different builds.
ART NOUVEAU! Oh my gods they took Mucha and slapped him on furniture. I LOVE THIS. I'm a gigantic fan of turn of the century decor and this is BRILLIANT.
Glass doors and windows, porch, wallpapers, bed(!), all that Art Deco! They would look great in little home where lives old lady. With nice porch, wind chimes, cats, with a little hippie and rustical vibes. A little bit form Sabrina witch, little bit from Arthur and minimoys, and a little bit from those expensive XIX x. San Francisco houses. If keeping in magic theme, we can say that grandma is witch, the one that uses herbs and clears sky from clouds to let her grandchildren play in the sun. Grandchildren don't one that she is a witch, obviously. Inside rustic library, loads of carpets on dark hardwood, and many memorabilias.
What do you think, James? It's not a big challenge for you, but it has hot summer in country vibes and it's raining outside and it's getting cold.

I really like you sims videos. When I saw you play the sims 4, it made me go out and buy the game. I have been playing it since Christmas last year and I can not wait to get this game pack and I also can not wait to make my sim a mermaid and I have been playing a sims who is making money like you rag to riches videos as it really inspired me to play from zero money 😍
The Build and Buy is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. They must've got someone new to design this one. Even the clothing is spectacular. And I love that they include plain swatches of everything so you can utilize it outside of the magical world.
I know this probably isn't what I'm supposed to take away from this, but that new crib is STUNNING

Love the stainglasses with the roses design. Reminds me of beauty and the beast, the animation. The designs appear when the story is told at the beginning of the movie
I think this pack is totally awesome!! I know it is a "magic" theme but I absolutely LOVE doing older, Victorian builds and I have been dying for a pack that fits that. While this is not victorian, it is as close as I have seen. Some of the stuff looks art deco and some just looks older, more dated how I like it. The stain glass windows are amazing. I love the book cases and the storage units, the fire place is also awesome. Other things that I really like are that bathroom sink, the bar is absolutely incredible and I like the cabinet recolors. Lastly, the new fountain is so nice. I own every single sims 4 pack available but some I buy because I feel obligated. This is one of the few that I seriously cant wait to get my hands on.
I'm disappointed there is no cabinets in the kitchen set, especially since we got those weird ones in island living - i feel like its not a full set. also im confused about the bar, like we have so many & i thought because the lot in glimmerbrook is a bar thats why but i watched clares video earlier & they don't use that bar from the pack, idk its just weird 🤷♀️ but i love the bassinet, we got nothing for toddlers & kids (depending if you count the single bed as a kid item) but we got something for the babies 😂

I would use the circle window maybe for a underwater bedroom, or maybe a super modern earth house design.
I actually know someone who makes stained glass windows and it is a lot of work. I really appreciate the objects on Build/Buy and that is the reason I will be getting this pack--and of course the gameplay, I mean really, who doesn't want to learn how to fly? I already have several ideas for the doors and windows for a couple of my existing build plus maybe a new one I am thinking of.
It’s nice but magic always makes me think of lots and lots of little collections and knickknacks. I’m disappointed that there are next to no clutter items whatsoever. Where are all the scrolls and books and plants and candles and specimens and on and on? There’s so much opportunity there for some genuinely nice clutter items but also a lot of sims whimsy too, like maybe mini-cow plant Venus flytrap vivariums, spilled potion bottles, strange looking skulls with candles melted on them, messy stacks of scrolls and more tome-like books, a spell book on a pedestal, floating candle “hanging lights,” bottles of fireflies that pulse bright light, jars of unusual fantasy animal and plant specimens, hanging herbs like the wall piece that can be hung from the ceiling.... I could go on for an hour. There are two wall paintings, a wall object, one strange table light, and a weird looking (large) decorative object, and that’s it? So much lost potential that it makes my heart hurt. I haven’t seen anything else about this pack yet so I really hope that more cool things can be pulled from the debug menu.

I would LOVE to see a forest cabin sort of build with this. Like a little cabin that a wood elf witch would live in with lots of plants and wood tones everywhere

For anyone wondering about the mid section of the rug; It can be perceived as two male butts with the penises to match. However, I think that is quite of a stretch, it's just a swirly pattern. Who cares?
A lot of people keep saying how the items from this pact won't work well with other packs or aren't very versatile, but certain swatches of white, off white and gold would work well with vintage glamour. the black swatches would work for a goth type build, a lot of the wood tones of items would work well with other wood tone items from island living. And the more dated looking wood items and other older looking items would work well for older or more traditional style homes.
Thank you for showing all these off. It always helps me decide if I'm going to buy it or not :)
I feel like James could renovate Max Power's parents' house (or build another similar house) using some of the newer packs we have

I wanna see the challenge of you picking pieces of furniture you really like and building a house around it! Like that bed it would be really cool. I guess if the seperate pieces you pick are too diffrent to fit together maybe just do as many as you can and just do rooms for the others? But I'd really love to see a large piece like the bed in a house, it feels like specifically a bed would be kinda boring as just a plain room you don't really need much more in a bedroom
