Yess! I love to watch simmers who fill the entire space with clutter, but simsie's houses are so playable (I that's the word? 🤔 ) And so comfortable to play in. I think she's good at this because she does gameplay

I think it would be great that warm and cold temperatures do exist in the base game. I own seasons by myself and love it but I think only the temperatures would be a great update for new simmers!
Personally, I wish they'd focus on fixing the bugs instead, and maybe improve the UI here and there. Leave the decoration to the *much* larger and more competent user base through the gallery, as intended. That does, however, leave lots like this one, which require cheats. I do wish they'd make ALL lots editable by default, so that we could utilize the crowdsourced efforts to redecorate them as we see fit.
I really want townies to have storylines and for them to get promoted and have lives and not just sit around. Whenever I don’t play with a household I’ll go back in and they’ll be late for school and work, it would be nice if they could do these things by themselves when you’re not physically controlling them.

Yeah, even though I'm a huge HP fan, to say that all magic schools are Hogwarts is just a little narrow minded. It's just the most famous one, and not even the first. Heck, I've even written my own story of a young wizard being educated. Kayla can rock her magic school here.
Kayla works hard to center and support trans people in the spaces she creates. It’s actually extremely appreciated in a political era trying to harm our community at ever turn, especially in her state Florida. It’s not necessary for her to say something, it’s true. She did so with intention and choice. She established a boundary. If you need a “safe space” that doesn’t include people stating they stand against transphobia and a woman who has blood on her hands, you can leave. This space is Kayla’s and she has stated it’s not for transphobes.

I personally LOVE realm of magic, it doesn't even feel like the Sims. ALTHOUGH the magic school is HORRIFYING, and we can't even rebuild it without a cheat!!
Ngl that’s not that bad of a thing. The Star Wars pack doesn’t even have official lots you can only use the cheats to enter build mode at all in Batuu. Get to Work you have to use the same cheat while your sim is at work to edit the career lots. The gameplay more than makes up for the builds imo because a maxed out spell caster never needs to worry about needs or mundane tasks ever again. Repairo, Duplicato, and scrubaroo are life savers and the potion of plentiful needs is also great to have when you’re trying to do stuff and don’t have time to worry about needs
When it comes to limiting packs, I think it's always pretty safe to assume that if you have Realm of Magic, you'll also have Vampires, Werewolves and Paranormal Stuff, so mixing those is usually no issue for most people. Supernatural gameplay is so much fun.

Thank you so much for doing this! Spellcasters are the only occult sims I use regularly and I hate how this lot is but I never had the energy to rebuild it, and I love yours. I've been having the best time building "peculiar" lots lately- i built a regular house for five single heroes with themed rooms and it was so much fun and pushed me to use things I never do.
I know it isn't directly related, but I would love to see the Sims Team make even more use of community experts. I know they are hiring builders to do most new lots in packs now - and the difference between the pre-Snowy Escapes lots and the new packs is marked. What I think they need to do now is hire in a small panel of experts to "sanity check" build mode items, things like one item in an obvious set is missing swatches, sometimes there are a couple of swatches that are near identical, whilst another colour isn't included, if some items in a set have "distressed" and "pristine" variants, make sure all items in that set, and all colours have both variants!! It is disheartening to have to add recolour mods to get what should be a "complete" build set. Even worse for those who don't have access to mods. It'd just be nice if we only had the gameplay bugs to annoy us after release, without build/buy being incomplete also!!

This pack is so fun to renovate! I love replacing the bar in this world with a magical greenhouse cafe and remaking all the sages to have siblings- the magic dimension building is so unbelievably big and you made it absolutely stunning and full of the character that it deserves! ✨
Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing you do an all packs build every once in awhile like maybe once or twice a month. It sucks when you can't use all the same build items as your favorite Sims creators, but sometimes it's cool to just see what can be done with all the packs and a lot of creativity.

If I wanted to super micro-manage it to use the Sage specific rooms, I would form a group with the Sage I want to learn from, we go to the corresponding room, and then I lock us in together. Your results may vary if you want to duel in the room with the Sage rather than using the devoted dueling space created in this build.
I think people should be able to seperate a person's work and their beliefs. It was scary how developers and streamers who played the new Harry Potter game got attacked online. Not cool. Having said that, Kayak is a very loving person.

Oh, I found this one on the gallery recently while looking for your other renovation of the lot. And maybe you are happy to hear that the Sages actually spend a lot of time at their desks chatting with Sims - granted they often use their colleagues' desks but it still creates this nice "visiting the teacher" atmosphere.
I think one reason why Morgan is so popular as a townie is because they're masculine framed but at least one of their outfits is from the feminine cas catalogue
Omg, yes! I hadn’t even realized Morgan was trans coded until my sim went on a date with them and I saw their formal outfit and I literally squealed in delight. Pak’a from Island Living, is the same as well.
the magic pack was genuinely the most saddening thing ive ever bought and im not being dramatic. they did such an awful job on the builds i remember getting here and just feeling so scammed. i actually stopped playing the game for a long time after this lol
I was never a builder before, but RoM weirdly turned me into one (ssssssssort of… I do still often cheat by downloading lots from gallery and gutting them)
I never cared about building until I started watching Kayla but I always knew something was off about the HQ. I remember loading in like “hol’ up, wait a minute, sum ain’t right” 💀💀🤦🏾♀️
occults are my favorite sims to play with, ive even got two active saves with spellcasters (one is a magic couple, the other is a magic toddler and a magic infant got adopted by a human with their own human toddler) right now and i hate building so thank you for this!
I like the ‘No door’ on that one house. I use it as a hidden room because spellcasters and vampires and kinda teleport and don’t need a door. Or stairs.

when you showed the outside of the original build it took me so long to realize that there weren't any textures still loading it just looked that way. MILLION TIMES IMPROVED
Personally I have been enjoying playing as a cottage witch, it allows me to basically play stardew (cottage living town quests) , farm my own things to be an off the grid freelance witch selling things that I make or grow. I havent gotten the horse ranch pack yet but I bet you could incoperate a horse into the farm as well to have both a witch and a horse game. That or just make a yeehaw witch 😄
I really love this build! I don't have all the packs and kits used, but I don't care. I'm downloading it and just replacing the items I don't have. (I love that you go back and forth between both limited pack and non-limited pack builds)
The sages are programmed to show up at specific places on the lot. It is some sort of invisible marker. Bulldozing the lot deletes the marker. That's why for this particular lot I prefer a renovation. Changing the build with deleting it makes the sages prefer the same spot as in the original build. But bulldozing the lot obviously gives more freedom to build. This magical school looks amazing.

This rebuild is phenomenal compared to what was there before, and even compared to your previous attempts. I'm going to have to create a spellcaster just to play with it.
You know, EA’s builds are always really spacious and empty but for whatever reason, this build always surprises me with how empty it is. Like I’m shocked everytime, and it’s been out for a bit
I'm one of those people that would be saying "just go for it." Every pack is more resources and more fuel for creativity. If someone doesn't have the necessary packs, they have a few options. They could simply not download the build, replace missing things from the build with other stuff, or download the build and wait to install it until they have the needed resources. This is my own approach to building. I'm not going to turn down my creativity to suit other people. I build for myself, and upload what I like best for those who might also like it. I mostly play and upload on PS4 and have every pack and kit on that console.
I was so annoyed with all the ppl in your stream chat that kept telling you to change the lighting XD like no! That’s such a cool idea I love that. It inspired me to mess with color lighting in my own build and it turned out so neat! The themed rooms are so fun, you had some really cool ideas and I’d love to see more fantasy builds in the future! Also as a trans person I always appreciate reaffirmed support, thank you ❤️🩹
I appreciate builds with many different types of packs used because its not always apparent how some packs, for example vampires and cats and dogs, could be used together to make something that looks cohesive. It would be fun to watch a build challenge that is the opposite of a limited pack build. Something like using 1 object from each pack in every room.

I do not agree with her whatsoever but harry potter introduced me to an outlet where I could really express myself (writing) so imo I feel like we should be able to separate the book from the author. liking harry potter doesn't mean your transphobic and I hate it when people tell me that. but great build kayla, this really needed to be redone lol.
I agree with you, and I'm trans myself. But I try not to give her any money, I buy the books and all second hand. The irony is that the HP books are part of the reason I realized I was queer and trans. Wonder what she who shall not be named would think about that.
I agree with this! I do not support her, I don’t even support her other books or series. But I grew up reading the Harry Potter series, as well as watching the movies, it was an escape for me from an abusive household. So the series holds a close place to my heart. I don’t need to support/fund JK Rowling to enjoy Harry Potter.

Kayla, this is possibly one of my favorite builds I've ever seen you do. I always love seeing you use as many packs as needed in a build rather than limiting packs - I think like a lot of viewers, I watch these as a source of inspiration for my own builds, not necessarily to download and play in myself (though I am considering adding this one to my game if I do magic gameplay again one day, cos it really is spectacular). 💜🌿✨ Also, thank you for addressing the magic-school elephant in the room early in the episode, it is unfortunate that the theme is tied to that franchise and author, but I am glad that you made your stance clear the way you did. I wish more content creators were as considerate and clued-in to the situation and willing to speak on it.
This EA build is so horrible. I built a "Hogwarts" magic HQ over it. On a hill over a lake with a waterfall (there is that infinite waterfall on the lot, so why not) all finished with a great hall and stairs tower and clock tower. But I do use CC, co it was realitevely easy though time consuming :)
there are other magic schools besides HP. someone could make a RoM build inspired by Little Witch Academy, is a super cute anime with a magic school. There is also Cloud tower from Winx, and I'm sure there are others
Stuff from the werewolves pack fitting with the magic pack actually makes a ton of sense when you get into all the werewolf lore since (SPOILER) werewolves are supposed to be descendants of early spellcasters that went into hiding while being hunted by vampires for their tasty blood

I actually bought the base game the year it came out, and I paid over 40 bucks for it cause I’m stupid and bought the deluxe edition without realizing it, till this day I’ve no idea what the difference is lol. But (while I play the sims hardly ever now) I just pirated the whole thing with the zillion expansions it has. I won’t be making the same mistake once the sims 5 come out lol

I've made 4 separate spellcasters with a matching unicorn since Horse Ranch... the self-sustaining lifestyle of a lone wizard with their horse is honestly fun gameplay. For example, my fire wizard has a unicorn that looks like molten lava, and he rides around setting things on fire and being a menace.
i really wish EA could dedicate like 6 months-year to just fixing their already existing packs instead of blasting out dozens of new kits. get to work, dine out, realm of magic, so many more, need significant updates because a lot of the features simply do not work anymore. especially the older occults like aliens and mermaids. DO NOT try to mix aliens with another occult like spellcasters/vampires/werewolves, it will break your game, lol.
It is standard practice for me when I play a spellcaster to immediately switch this building for your old reno of this lot, so excited to play in the new one!

Since Snowy Escape they've gotten Simmers to do the builds for the packs that come back.

This pack is so fun to renovate! I love replacing the bar in this world with a magical greenhouse cafe and remaking all the sages to have siblings- the magic dimension building is so unbelievably big and you made it absolutely stunning and full of the character that it deserves! ✨

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing you do an all packs build every once in awhile like maybe once or twice a month. It sucks when you can't use all the same build items as your favorite Sims creators, but sometimes it's cool to just see what can be done with all the packs and a lot of creativity.
You can pirate them all easily if your computer can handle it.

If I wanted to super micro-manage it to use the Sage specific rooms, I would form a group with the Sage I want to learn from, we go to the corresponding room, and then I lock us in together. Your results may vary if you want to duel in the room with the Sage rather than using the devoted dueling space created in this build.
I think Morgyn is the only sim that pulls off the cheese hair😂.

Oh, I found this one on the gallery recently while looking for your other renovation of the lot. And maybe you are happy to hear that the Sages actually spend a lot of time at their desks chatting with Sims - granted they often use their colleagues' desks but it still creates this nice "visiting the teacher" atmosphere.
Now that the horse pack is out you could add a unicorn stable!!
I think one reason why Morgan is so popular as a townie is because they're masculine framed but at least one of their outfits is from the feminine cas catalogue
Omg, yes! I hadn’t even realized Morgan was trans coded until my sim went on a date with them and I saw their formal outfit and I literally squealed in delight. Pak’a from Island Living, is the same as well.

the magic pack was genuinely the most saddening thing ive ever bought and im not being dramatic. they did such an awful job on the builds i remember getting here and just feeling so scammed. i actually stopped playing the game for a long time after this lol
I was never a builder before, but RoM weirdly turned me into one (ssssssssort of… I do still often cheat by downloading lots from gallery and gutting them)
I never cared about building until I started watching Kayla but I always knew something was off about the HQ. I remember loading in like “hol’ up, wait a minute, sum ain’t right” 💀💀🤦🏾♀️
occults are my favorite sims to play with, ive even got two active saves with spellcasters (one is a magic couple, the other is a magic toddler and a magic infant got adopted by a human with their own human toddler) right now and i hate building so thank you for this!

I like the ‘No door’ on that one house. I use it as a hidden room because spellcasters and vampires and kinda teleport and don’t need a door. Or stairs.

Remember when you built a spooky house for twich chat and you used EVERY pack? Well, now that there's way more packs and kits, why don't you do it again, but more updated with the packs

I honestly forgot what ea’s build looked like because any time I have a spell caster sims I instantly replace it with the original renovation simie built XD love this though, it’s has such a cozy vibe to it
I like this build better than the original. I like the fact that bedrooms were added because I like to keep my sims there too to learn magic.
when you showed the outside of the original build it took me so long to realize that there weren't any textures still loading it just looked that way. MILLION TIMES IMPROVED
Personally I have been enjoying playing as a cottage witch, it allows me to basically play stardew (cottage living town quests) , farm my own things to be an off the grid freelance witch selling things that I make or grow. I havent gotten the horse ranch pack yet but I bet you could incoperate a horse into the farm as well to have both a witch and a horse game. That or just make a yeehaw witch 😄

I really love this build! I don't have all the packs and kits used, but I don't care. I'm downloading it and just replacing the items I don't have. (I love that you go back and forth between both limited pack and non-limited pack builds)
I like to use the purple & blue swatch on the Realm of Magic windows when I'm playing in the werewolf world. The moon and stars work well there too.
EA should hire you to build every major community lot in the future
This is one of my favorite builds now! I love the vibes of everything and it looks like it would be so much fun to play in!
The sages are programmed to show up at specific places on the lot. It is some sort of invisible marker. Bulldozing the lot deletes the marker. That's why for this particular lot I prefer a renovation. Changing the build with deleting it makes the sages prefer the same spot as in the original build. But bulldozing the lot obviously gives more freedom to build. This magical school looks amazing.

This rebuild is phenomenal compared to what was there before, and even compared to your previous attempts. I'm going to have to create a spellcaster just to play with it.
You know, EA’s builds are always really spacious and empty but for whatever reason, this build always surprises me with how empty it is. Like I’m shocked everytime, and it’s been out for a bit

I'm one of those people that would be saying "just go for it." Every pack is more resources and more fuel for creativity. If someone doesn't have the necessary packs, they have a few options. They could simply not download the build, replace missing things from the build with other stuff, or download the build and wait to install it until they have the needed resources. This is my own approach to building. I'm not going to turn down my creativity to suit other people. I build for myself, and upload what I like best for those who might also like it. I mostly play and upload on PS4 and have every pack and kit on that console.
I was so annoyed with all the ppl in your stream chat that kept telling you to change the lighting XD like no! That’s such a cool idea I love that. It inspired me to mess with color lighting in my own build and it turned out so neat! The themed rooms are so fun, you had some really cool ideas and I’d love to see more fantasy builds in the future!

I appreciate builds with many different types of packs used because its not always apparent how some packs, for example vampires and cats and dogs, could be used together to make something that looks cohesive. It would be fun to watch a build challenge that is the opposite of a limited pack build. Something like using 1 object from each pack in every room.
honestly as much as I hate the author, she inspired me in a lot of ways. I do not agree with her whatsoever but harry potter introduced me to an outlet where I could really express myself (writing) so imo I feel like we should be able to separate the book from the author. liking harry potter doesn't mean your transphobic and I hate it when people tell me that. but great build kayla, this really needed to be redone lol.

I agree with this! I do not support her, I don’t even support her other books or series. But I grew up reading the Harry Potter series, as well as watching the movies, it was an escape for me from an abusive household. So the series holds a close place to my heart. I don’t need to support/fund JK Rowling to enjoy Harry Potter.

The problem that most of us have is that she's being very closed minded on the trans issue, and is digging her heels in instead of listening to the fandom. It's only the extremists who deal with absolutes that are saying she's the greatest villain of modern times, and that is likely because many of them were initially projecting an image of benevolent perfection upon her, and now that it's shattered, they're equally projecting malevolence upon her instead of just seeing sad misguidance.
Kayla, this is possibly one of my favorite builds I've ever seen you do. I always love seeing you use as many packs as needed in a build rather than limiting packs - I think like a lot of viewers, I watch these as a source of inspiration for my own builds, not necessarily to download and play in myself (though I am considering adding this one to my game if I do magic gameplay again one day, cos it really is spectacular). 💜🌿✨
Also, thank you for addressing the magic-school elephant in the room early in the episode, it is unfortunate that the theme is tied to that franchise and author, but I am glad that you made your stance clear the way you did. I wish more content creators were as considerate and clued-in to the situation and willing to speak on it.
You should add a daycare center for any spellcasters that bring their kids along

This EA build is so horrible. I built a "Hogwarts" magic HQ over it. On a hill over a lake with a waterfall (there is that infinite waterfall on the lot, so why not) all finished with a great hall and stairs tower and clock tower. But I do use CC, co it was realitevely easy though time consuming :)
Man, best lot tour ever. All the new packs add so much to the vibe.

there are other magic schools besides HP. someone could make a RoM build inspired by Little Witch Academy, is a super cute anime with a magic school. There is also Cloud tower from Winx, and I'm sure there are others

Stuff from the werewolves pack fitting with the magic pack actually makes a ton of sense when you get into all the werewolf lore since (SPOILER) werewolves are supposed to be descendants of early spellcasters that went into hiding while being hunted by vampires for their tasty blood

i think her anguish about using more packs is justified, she explained it very well but also i want to say: relax, have fun and believe me, no one's missing out on anything, i've played all the sims games and ive never paid a single cent for them

I actually bought the base game the year it came out, and I paid over 40 bucks for it cause I’m stupid and bought the deluxe edition without realizing it, till this day I’ve no idea what the difference is lol. But (while I play the sims hardly ever now) I just pirated the whole thing with the zillion expansions it has. I won’t be making the same mistake once the sims 5 come out lol

I've made 4 separate spellcasters with a matching unicorn since Horse Ranch... the self-sustaining lifestyle of a lone wizard with their horse is honestly fun gameplay. For example, my fire wizard has a unicorn that looks like molten lava, and he rides around setting things on fire and being a menace.
They put all the items they were allowed to have in the build in the two basements.

i really wish EA could dedicate like 6 months-year to just fixing their already existing packs instead of blasting out dozens of new kits. get to work, dine out, realm of magic, so many more, need significant updates because a lot of the features simply do not work anymore. especially the older occults like aliens and mermaids. DO NOT try to mix aliens with another occult like spellcasters/vampires/werewolves, it will break your game, lol.
