You know what? It was worth the wait. I'm really glad this house is getting the love and care it deserves. I'm happy.

I think it’s funny how James was so worried about how they got the workout equipment into the basement but not about how they got the organ to the top of the turret 😅
Most people don't own a pipe organ or a piano so it's probably easier to imagine moving the workout stuff than the instrument. Also, the turret has a big open window, I think, so theoretically it could maybe be lifted even if that's inadvisable too lol.
He could have put the woodworking table next to it as a joke....

I think the sims subreddits are really nice in general. Lots of creative people giving support to each other and showing off their creations.

Column’s house reached its full potential and was worth the wait. The outside is interesting, the Victorian castle vibe fits both the world and the owners. The interior is also fitting their personalities-witchy with a few surprises thrown in. Glad Ticket got his items and it’s too funny that even after 3 years, it’s STILL winter in Glimmerbrook!

Only James "Aww, yeah, Batuu!" Turner would put Journey to Batuu furniture in a Spellcaster's home. [slow claps]
Technically, adding vampire and/or werewolf stuff is worse if you look at the lore. Then there's the question of electronics which is less magical than Jedi stuff. I feel like Batuu is on the same level as Cats and Dogs if you consider it a random hobby/interest lol.

I love seeing this completed, now I would love for maybe a storyline with Addison given their aspiration has them being mischievous and needing to sneak out etc. Perhaps despite repeated discussions and trying to work things out as a family, Reginald decides that Addison needs to take a break from the typical teen areas and hangouts, and sends them to spend time with their grandmother. I mean what kind of mischief could a non magic user discover in this space right...? 😉

As a Finn I love sauna! I would though connect the sauna and the bathroom next to it, flip the sauna 90 degrees and turn bathroom into a shower area and a little dressing area. Toilet in it's own little room. Little fridge in the dressing room for cold drinks. That would be perfect. Otherwise, amazing house!

Also, the gym and sauna make sense because they would have to stay in shape in case of a physical fight with another occults and being a spellcaster would be hard on the body so somewhere to rest and recharge would be nice.
It had been cool if the sauna had a little chimney, as I also think it fits. Reminds me of how the Finns made the Americans and soviet sign a peace treaty as I think Column would do the same..!
Even though James doesn't record himself while building these, I can still hear "AHH BATUU!" off-camera whenever a Batuu object is in the frame.

The floating light was the most magical part of the whole build
I was thinking about the school teacher in the HSY LP and you could just give him floral bouquets of death flower scented roses or something and let him age up rapidly. Three should do it.
One of my favourite pieces of Bigwallet lore is that evil witch Column became the most loving and involved of all the Bigwallet parents.

Keep the sauna but hang a bunch of herbs for "cleansing before rituals"! 😂❤️ Love playing spellcasters, this is giving me all the inspiration for the next time I get to sit down and play.

Column deserves it after everything she's been through, trying to renovate the house and raise Reg as a single mom. I'll bet Addi and Breanne would love visiting her house. They could hang out in Glimmerbrook and meet some of the local kids/teens.
I think a witch absolutely needs a sauna. :D Beautiful makeover all around. I especially like the gardening stuff and the landscaping.
I wouldn't complain about the sauna, but since you've asked for other ideas here's one: you could make it a broom storage, all covered in spiders web, maybe with one or two destroyed paintings (or turned backwards, to the wall) and with some other messy clutter, but with wardrobe from get together in it, so it could be like a total hide place for sims to cry/woohoo
Ahhhh I'm so glad you finished it! The house looks so goooood! Plus so much to do; I love all the activities you added, including the sauna! I'm gonna agree with everyone suggesting at least a visit to Grandma Column's house by the grandbabies even if it isn't an overnight stay! I wish the Sims made it easier to ask if you can spend the night... You can invite other Sims to stay but I don't think you can ask to sleep there, so Column would have to ask them and I'm not certain you can ask kids/teens because I believe it's a romantic interaction. I've only ever used it after a Sim date myself! We need a little Sim Science on this. Regardless, a day trip vacation would be nice! OR have a proper vacation... ooooh! Demolish the starter home, add a rental there, and maybe Addison could become a spellcaster while they're visiting?! 😆
I love how James is always so considerate during builds and puts bathrooms in convenient locations. Then half the time in his let's plays he can't be bothered and makes his sims pee themselves rather than stop whatever activity he's doing!
James' design aesthetic, both build and furnishing, is incredibly similar to mine. It's hard to describe. Attention to detail is so important to me- color schemes, rooms that don't have too much empty unused spaces! I have downloaded nearly all of his builds😂 one of my favorite builders

To me, a sauna makes perfect sense in this house. It totally seems like something Plantain would suggest. I’ll never forget the couple of times James remembered to check in on her during the Let’s Play, for her to just be playing outside, making snow angels & the other time she was just happily sat on her bed & then did a fart followed by a little chuckle. James’s reaction to the last one was priceless, I rewound several times 😂
I found James during the start of that series LP. Saying I'm obsessed now is an understatement. Thank you for the LPs series James, you truly bring joy and entertainment into my life.
Realm of Magic unfortunately was an underwhelming pack when it comes to gameplay but I LOVE the build/buy stuff. The occult packs really do it for me. Actually, I don't like the objects of the pack all that much but the atmosphere that they create!
I love love love this house. It came out so well! The placement of the organ reminds me of an organ loft in a church. The sound would probably echo down the stairwell getting a bit discordant on the way. Wonderful!

I know this is a year old but I'm only now getting around to watching the high school years lets play and got to this. Just letting you know James that you can use the move objects cheat and put the punching bags in corners and they will still be usable. They have a huge footprint behind them but I've never seen an animation for a Sim to go to that side of the bag. All of my bags are in corners or really close to walls and I've never had any problems with the bags.
Yes! So happy you managed to finish this built. I find it super hard to return to a resting project so I’m very impressed! And it looks much better now than with the Dream Home Decorator - randomized style. 😄

I saw the house on the gallery and couldn't wait to see the renovation, unfortunately my pc decided to crash and broke while I was saving the house, now I wait to know if all my work and my Sims saves are still there or if it's all lost. But you always bring a smile, can't wait to see Reginald face over the house renovation after he spent two years as toodler in an empty house xD
There are lots of things you could do with the room. Toddler room or move the nursery there, laundry, bathroom, office space, walk in closet or storage, cauldron room?
The sauna is how they sweat out any potion fumes

In some parts of the world saunas were, at one time, believed to bestow magical powers on the people who entered them. So totally appropriate in this build.

I think a LP would very great for this build. An inheritance story where whomever lives here has to maintain the the look and value of the house or spend money like crazy until they can't pay the bills. This could also make a nice haunted house LP.

Cause its an old house, I might've made that room a library, art room (idk if that would've fit), or a seance room cause they're spellcasters. A closet of random cursed/magical objects could be cool too. Either way this house is very nice.
