Any tips for successfully pulling off the kidnapping trick as I ended up damaging SH so much i had to drink potions when trying to follow your guide. I only worry since I need to pull it off again on Gortash and if i screw that up then honour run will be blown.
If you're actually reaching the point of throwing her, you are waiting way too long to cancel the animation. A failed kidnap shouldn't result in actually throwing, it should just sit her back down completely unharmed and you try again.
The pixie bell lets you enter a cutscene with Dolly. By entering the cutscene, it interrupts Yenna from turning back into Orin, letting us defeat Orin easily. Also, at the end of the game, we use the pixie bell and select a dialogue option, which makes Dolly angry at us and turns us into a frog. A frog in BG3 has a lot higher jump stats, letting us clip through the brain stem to the top. It isn't super necessary, but it is fast. You can take a side route or use a taller character like Jaheira with even more jump distance.
It isn't patched, at least on keyboard and mouse, but it requires spam clicks that are described in my tutorial series here: ruclips.net/p/PLHiKm2oEim6JkJlGYMd0Cm1YLZhkbUFXj
The main thing that makes the trick work is jumping in the path of the intellect devourer. Basically, you need to jump while it is moving to the location you want to jump to. This causes your character to warp there. Just mashing jump at the location by itself won't do anything.
According to some people on console they were able to the tricks successfully from my tutorial series which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/Gbzo0xKFT-4/видео.html&pp=gAQBiAQB&ab_channel=Chronos
So this is a bug that happens with fireworks. Some fireworks can detonate early, but it's impossible to tell which one is causing the issue. If you split them into separate stacks you'll find that some are throwable and some are not. I believe it has to deal with getting seen stealing fireworks but I'm not entirely sure. If you look at my guide you'll see I blow them up on the floor instead.
You can refer to my honour mode speedrun tutorial series where I discuss many of these tricks: ruclips.net/video/Gbzo0xKFT-4/видео.html&ab_channel=Chronos
Is this strategy possible in honor mode? I know that the bosses might take longer since they'll have more health, but it should still be possible, right?
Yep, on Explorer difficulty for this All Acts speedrun, you only need about 15, but there's quite a bit going on here. By placing the fireworks on the ground then throwing them, we get a height advantage for these fireworks, causing them to deal additional damage. We also use 15 of the same firework since the double throw of 2 sets of fireworks is no longer possible as of patch 5.
A few things: The timer isn't running on loading screens. It is running when the game is rendering back in, but does pause during the main loading sections. I also do not have the most powerful PC. My PC is about an average budget gaming PC with AMD Ryzen 7 5700G graphics card and AMD Radeon RX 6600 processor. (Equivalent to RTX 2060), so while it is decent, is far below what most competitive PC players have to run high end games.
this is so much fun to do that, research how smart people suggest to do something, then repeat your tries over and over untill you get a decent enough time to post video on youtube and get a thousand views. totally worth the time
“No one back home will ever believe this.”

what’s the purpose of the pixie bell sequence, I didn’t know it could do anything outside of act 2

This is a hobby people enjoy because it’s fun. Not really a massively competitive thing, it’s a community!
