And finally I am back.
I took some holidays off editing this summer to re-focus on myself and kind of decide what I wanted to do from now on. I'm glad I took time to breath a little & I definitely had a blast editing this.
Top Gun is in my opinion one of the best movies of this year. The movie deserve the praise & the success and I knew I'd make a video for this one the second I stepped out of the theater. New videos coming (very) soon, let's get back to it!

Top Gun: Maverick was no doubt *THE* movie of 2022. After watching it, I truly felt like there was really nothing else to look forward to for the rest of the year. At least nothing that could give you such an amazing movie-going experience as this.
As time goes by, it's going to be considered one of the best movies ever made.
Movie of the decade.
I haven't seen another movie since. It's not worth it. I'll be disappointed and probably pissed. I honestly didn't think I'd ever see a movie like that in my lifetime again. Now I know I won't after TG:M. I hope I am wrong.
Yep but there’s a movie coming out called devotion that has glen powell that played hangman in top gun maverick and devotion is based on a true story of two navy pilots and it’s cgi not like top gun but heck it’s one good movie I want to see in 2022

This is the movie we all desperately needed. In a world dominated by superheroes and CGI, having a movie that pays tribute to the real heroes with almost no CGI is so so refreshing.
the other movie without any CGI and with only practical effects was Ford vs Ferrari in 2019. Agree we need more of these. But Top Gun 2 while It is a great action movie, it's no masterpiece, sorry. First, this movie is incredibly predictable. I knew step by step what is gonna happen next, I knew Hangman will save the day in the end because he was basically the younger version of Maverick and they did exactly the same thing as they did in the original movie. We had Rooster vs Hangman just like we had Mav vs Iceman in the first one. We had obvious sentimental callbacks to the relationship between Rooster and Mav and if you have half of a brain you knew they are gonna bond in the end. Also, for me, it was pretty lame that we didn't even find out who was the enemy. If you are making a movie like that when the mission is the center of the action, how could you not explain who is the powerful enemy? Ridiculous and lazy. So again, genre-wise, it was a great, entertaining movie. But nothing more.

@@russelconor8704 Just because a story has a predictable ending/outcomes doesn't mean its bad, like look at every action film the good guy always wins and gets the girl etc, every romance film ends with them getting together etc etc i could go on. It's all about the execution of how they do it and I've got to say I think that Top Gun 2 did a hell of a job at it.

I remember as if it were yesterday every laugh, tear, nostalgia and tension that made me stay on the edge of the movie theater in every action scene, especially in the final part. How big this movie became and the way it was embraced by people who already knew the franchise and also who had never seen the first movie but gave it a chance, just appreciate all the work put into it.

This movie was another world. I went to see it with my dad, and immediately after we bought the soundtrack. The theme played while we said goodbye to my grandfather before going on holidays, he shortly passed after and it was the last time I ever had a conversation with him. So thank god for this film, it’s a visual memory I can cherish forever. If anyone feels the same, you can be my wingman anytime ❤😎

As a 20 year Navy Veteran this brought back so many memories.. my last duty station was on the USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76.. Hooyaah

I just went to see it again yesterday. When I watched the original for the first time I ended up liking it way more than I expected, and then Maverick took everything great about the first and made it even better. Unbelievable.
This movie was my childhood, and to see this second part and continuation of the story is more than I can put into words. Beautiful, raw, and just perfection.

As a true Top Gun fan, this movie took too long to arrive but it was well worth it!!! After watching the first, we were eager to watch the next and it took this long to see how the characters evolved, as if they were family.
Don’t know if the Academy will honor the work but the true fans, call it the movie of the year!
One of your best videos of all time. Beautifully captures the heart of the film and the aerial sequences. The last half of the video is some of if not the best editing I've seen. The tension and awe I felt during it was unreal. This was damn worth the wait.

Maverick was awesome. Love all the homages to the original. Liked how Tom Cruise when he announced there would be another Top Gun. This was made as a tribute to aviation. This was made for you. 35 years from the original. It was time.😢
I don't know exactly why I felt so emotional to the point of shedding tears, but I did, beginning in the bar, throughout 'till the end. I guess I'm an old man that can't take memories with a sober face anymore, I'm sorry. I will cherish this movie until I pass, and to all my love.
Top Gun was not only the best movie this year but the kind of movie that FELT GENUINE. It had some CGI, undoubtedly, but EVERYTHING WAS SHOT PRACTICALLY. The script was on point, it was light and fun but still heartbreaking and somber.
There were a lot of callbacks, and I loved every one of them. Rooster being a pilot was perfect. And the build-up of him saving Maverick was perfect. He still saw Maverick as his father figure, even with all the things that had happened between them. They went back for each other. I loved seeing them work their way back together. I was terrified Maverick was going to die, and maybe even Rooster but we got the perfect ending.
I just know this one is gonna get me in my feels

This movie managed to do everything so well. I'm still shocked they were able to make the perfect sequel, in today's day and age.
The Navy needs Maverick, the kid needs Maverick, movie fans needed Maverick.
This was like watching the movie in nine minutes. I mean that in the best way possible.

I watched the old one and new one back to back on a plane for the first time, and I've got to say, other than Everything Everywhere All At Once, Top Gun Maverick was the only new movie this year that I loved.

This is such a fantastic movie. It's filled with the human spirit and compassion for the love for a dear friend. Tom Cruise is phenomenal.
This movie really and truly hit on everything right to capture that 1986 feeling of seeing the original in that time and place (14 yrs old at the time) and some 35+ years later, Top Gun Maverick really hit every mark. Fantastic movie. I was crying and smiling at the same time periodically throughout the second half of Top Gun Maverick. Buckle your seat belt and hit it! You’ll be happy you did.

Tom cruise made a smash hit right outa the ballpark and no doubt the best movie of 2022 and ranks right up there with behind the lines served in the navy but was not a fighter pilot but have respect for them all the way. and the quote from the first topgun that's their job and they've got to push it still goes today.👍

having seen the original Top Gun numerous times but never saw it in theaters since I wasn't born yet then, there were two moments in Top Gun Maverick that made me tear up in Nostalgia and excitement in the Theater. The opening Sequence with the OG Danger Zone and towards the end when Maverick does his classic Tower Buzz in a F-14 Tomcat. I was truly happy to finally a true Top Gun experience in the Theaters. They went above and beyond expectations in this Sequel from the Story Writing to training the Actors to ACTUALLY FLY (as passengers) in F-18s to get the true in cockpit experience that cranked the immersion to 11. It's a Sequel that will be watched and talked about for a very long time and going to be very hard to beat.

This may be the single best video I've seen put together. It really zeroed in and captured the emotional connections in the movie--Maverick and Hondo, Maverick and Ice, Maverick's life long friendship and respect for Goose that didn't die just because his friend passed away, and of course his parental lover for Rooster, though he was getting nothing but hostility in return. . That's what will give it staying power. Not the admittedly spectacular flying sequences. It's Maverick being a real, fleshed out person who isn't the selfish jerk he was back in the day. I didn't *like* Maverick the person in the first film. I felt for him so much in this film. It's so far ahead of the first film it's incredible,

Can not afford to go and see this movie. From all clips I've been able to view, this is Mr Cruise's, best of the best, and most difficult and exciting task: Accomplishment.
When Maverick said: "I'm sorry. I'm sorry Goose" I nearly burst crying. It was so sad. I had just seen the previous film the night before.

This is gorgeous. As always, love how you fit scenes together. Adding bits from the original was amazing. And the music! I can't get over what they (Zimmer?) did with the Danger Zone theme, slowed down in low brass driving the "flying the mission" score, so thanks for including that. And of course nothing can beat the Top Gun anthem. But how you cut it off when Mav got shot down to focus on Rooster...ugh! So good!

Greatest video on one of the greatest movies of the year. Tension and hype build up in this video are just as much chilling as it was watching the movie on the big screen. Editing amplified it even. That second part was every bit as emotional as anyonr would hope it would be with a perfect "why did you stand in my way" in just the perfect beat for it to wreck hearts. That moment of silence at the end and the focus on rooster was chilling, a perfect editing there.

Besides the fact it was perfectly made with years of waiting for the right story on Cruise’s part, I think a lot more people enjoyed Maverick because it had no new aged “woke” crap. It’s family friendly but still appropriately inappropriate and violent to show realism. It has the classic hero arc between Rooster and Hangman like Maverick and Iceman in the first movie which doesn’t hurt anything but it is truely a new “classic” with good old movie making style and I freaking love it. I hope to see more movies made without quotas or worries of any “woke” crap. Tom Cruise is in this business because he loves it and it shows in his movies.
