I have in my life, have had the opportunity to work on old motorcycles and automobiles of this time frame. I am also an aircraft mechanic who had the chance to work on airplanes that were just a decade or so newer in design. Now to my misfortune I have never had the chance to work on planes of this period. Yet if my experience with other vehicles are good grounds to base my assumption on, then I am correct to assume that the men and women who flew these things were all. certifiably deranged . Out of their minds. I have been up close and been able to look around these birds. I marvel at them and their courage. I have always wished that someone who make a movie about the Wright Brothers. Not the High collared men from photographs, but the two bad asses with shirt sleeves rolled. And Badasses they were. Not only did the design a craft for powered flight, engine and all. They had to teach themselves something no one knew how to do. Fly an Airplane.

Just an FYI..... If you noticed that the round counter stopped at 33 rounds, that was not a coincidence! This was actually a nod to the original film!! Because they were filming the sequel 33 years after the release of the original Top Gun film!
I know this is make believe, but there is no way a helicopter can fly at Mach 1. The rotor blades will sheer off, rotor head will snap in half or worse. The airframe of this helicopter will bend at that velocity. Plus the rpm will be very high there folks!
