The scene where the admiral says " guys like you are a relic of the past. The future is coming and you arent in it. Your type is extinct...maybe so...but not today sir... hits pretty close to home for this old about to retire pilot..
I’d take an “older” pilot with experience for a specific job any day of the week.
I’ll bet you’ve seen a lot…and that’s what I’d rely on.
@@CardsharpChris 36 years at airline, air force before that, A&P license, Ive seen alot and I dont like the way things are moving with all of the new pilots moving up. But like the admiral in Top Gun maverick says...your type is going extinct...LOL
That Admiral is wrong. An automated weapon, a computer if you will, can only react as it’s been programmed to react. It can only respond. No matter how good “electronic predictors” become they cannot predict and come up with a response to something they’ve never been programmed for. Something they have never seen before. Only a living THINKING Human Being with years of experience will immediately try something new. Ask the Imperial Japanese Navy fighter pilots who so dominated the early years of the Pacific War, shooting down F4F’s and P-40’s like so many kites tied to strings, what happened when they first ran into the F4U Corsair. Ask the RAF Spitfire pilots who first got jumped by ME-262 fighter jets how they managed to shoot down one when none of them even knew jet fighters existed. Pre-set, pre-programmed responses only work until you are confronted with something new and unexpected. That Admiral is wrong.
You old dogs have some fight left in you. My spouse is a new F/A for Southwest. I'd rather have my loved one in the hands of a BTDT old salt at 40,000 feet than a kid just out of Embry-Riddle. "Not Today," captain.
Not what he said lol
The man puts 110% into his movies... knocked this one out of the park.
He always does!
This always hits ya in the feels. Rooster is Gooses son. Maverick held Rooster back because he wasn’t ready. Mav would rather have Rooster HATE him forever than to let him die. Mav KNEW when he swooped in to protect Rooster that he’d be shot down. KNEW it. He didn’t even hesitate for a second. All he could think about was protecting his best friend’s son. Watch Mav’s face during this scene. Tom Cruise may be a Scientology weirdo in his private life, but he’s a BRILLIANT actor. He knows the perfect tone to use, perfect movements, and perfect facial expressions. That’s why this movie is so amazing.
You cry when Maverick pleads: “Talk to me Goose.” Your heart breaks when Rooster prays “Talk to me Dad.” But then Rooster slams his throttle open and you begin to cheer. I can’t help believing Goose whispered to Rooster “Do what I would do son, do what I would do.” Goose would have gone back for Maverick. Rooster did.
TOTALLY 100%! Tom Cruise is one of the best actors ever. I normally don't go to see a movie just because so-n-so is in it; I got because the movie sounds like it's good. For Tom Cruise though, I make an exception; if he's in a movie, I go see it, because I'm in for a great performance. Who can forget his iconic line "I want the TRUTH!" from "A Few Good Men"?
one of the best parts of this movie. maverick! the biggest heart ever suffering for years and years. same way I mentally suffer for my best friend/brother. gone but never forgotten
Man I’m so glad they paid so much respect to that character that is goose, they knew how much he meant to us, and they followed through with this masterpiece incorporating everything we wanted in the sequel and more
Tom Cruise Will never ever grow old. He is up to speed on everything. He will show us the way to go to get things done.
As long as there is air fighting action, Tom Cruise will lead the way.
Top Gun will forever be a classic. Tom Cruise has had a great career but I believe Maverick is the best sequel movie to define his legacy of films.
Love this movie!!! Best movie in 15 years
Seen 15 times so far! Many deep meanings in this movie
I got teary eyes probably over 10 times. (I'm still watching it as of today)
1. Mach 10
2. Mav puts his flight jacket on and the Taiwan flag 🇹🇼 was initially removed to please China two years ago but now it’s back!
3. He got thrown out of bar and stood there listening to that song that brings him back to he and Goose the good old times.
4. Iceman comes back to this movie (suffering from throat cancer in real life) and meets Maverick the last time.
5. Iceman asks Maverick, who’s the better pilot? (Remember when they were young and that intense competition?)
6. Iceman’s funeral. Meaning, his role will be forever gone.
7. Maverick steals the F-18 just to prove that this mission is achievable!
8. He promises Penny he will never leave her again. However, he then has to take the lead for mission and may not come back.
9. He got saved by Goose’s son Rooster a second before the Iranian attack helicopter fires at him.
10. Comes back with enemy’s F-14, his old bird, and Rooster is in the back seat.
I actually shouted out loud “Murica!” when the light turns on in the theater.
Gotta love our troops and our greatest nation USA on earth.
What I liked about the Mach 10/DarkStar test is what Maverick said. Hondo said that he knew what would happen to him if he went through with the test, since Adm. Cain was there. Maverick said, "I know what happens to everyone else if I don't." That said it ALL right there! Right there, in that scene, we see how Maverick is looking out for others; we see how he's trying to help others.
The moment after Maverick says to Penny, ""why should he resent her too"", Penny was head over heels in love. Jennifer Connelly's expression was PERFECT in the scene.
Damn, I loved this movie!
This video is powerful, emotional tribute to combat aviators, and to the fighting spirit of our men and women at arms. Bravo, Sir…bravo. 🇺🇸
The cutting scene between both are so precise and relatable there is connection between both
Best trailer for the movie
Of all of the clips of this movie I've seen, this one really hits the target. Nicely done.
Its so freaking intense it makes me cry...this movie was perfect :)
best movie in the past 5 years hands down
The Best of the Best
此のトップガン、マ―ベリック、アメリカ映画史上永久に残る名作になるでしょう。
As Tom said.. that film is loving letter to the aviation.
A masterpiece from another masterpiece. This video just made me cry. Thank you for this beautiful edit🥲🥺😭
This dude is a superhero. Badass.
Man you made me cry with this video.
This is a great edit for the character arc of Maverick.
incredible editing skills you got brilliant simply outstanding and heart touching
In the end of all that love, friendship, life and loss.. Couldnt have been a better ending than this.. But I would have loved to see maverick finally get the promotion he deserved. Admiral Pete "Maverick" Mitchell
Agreed
Nah, it's best that he didn't. Being a pilot is his first best destiny. Anything else is a waste of material. As an admiral, he'd have to go administrative. He'd hate it. He's happier where he is. You notice that he's the only one who isn't talking about his rank.
Good Präsentation, good work 👍and TOP GUN Maverick is the best movie 🥇 2022 👍👍👍
Thank you for your service men and women !! Superior officer on Deck. Honer, code God. Never leave nobody behind never. You all come Home. 🙏 ❤. 🌍🙏🙏🙏☮️☮️🇬🇷❤️👅
Best movie of 2022 and watched good few times and love the sound of the jet engines and zonic boom's ... with headphones on . 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
Best movie ever made !
😯😯😯 I was going to wait till Maverick came out on DVD or Blu-ray, but your video made me decide to go catch it while it's still in the theaters. A masterful blend of clips from both movies brings out the "love for one's brothers-in-arms," the scenes you chose got me a bit choked up. Thank you. 🙂
? Are you in 2004?
No words to express ☑️✔️💯
One of the best edited Maverick film I’ve ever watched so far!!
Dude that was better than the movie. I'm now standing and clapping.
Bravo...Bravo👏👏👏
OMG,, this edit is an another level!!
What you have done here, interweaving scenes from “Top Gun” with “Top Gun: Maverick” shows the continuity of the two films. You can see Goose interwoven through out the Franchise. First as Maverick’s best friend and the only person he trusts and then as Rooster’s father; the son who wants so much to be like the father he worships.
Maverick: “Talk to me Goose!”
Rooster: “Talk to me Dad..”
Incredible. Nothing else to say.
Everything about this video is beautiful, thank you!
Most my family came out of the navy and watching this movie seeing way things went down awesome great job guys
Incredible
This compilation warms my heart 💜
Beautifully done. So emotional God 😢. Brilliant editing. Can't get enough of this
I see that Jolly Rodgers patch... Fear the bones.
Beautiful! The best! Thank you.
Movie off the century
OMG you made my cry 😭
Wow this is brilliant!
The music is perfect and I love the the original top gun clips interwoven.
Outstanding work
This was WELL DONE!
Thank you, for sharing your expertise in delivering on this extraordinary inspiring movie. LOVED, SUBSCRIBED, & DING!!!
Very nice mix! It made me « Goose bumps » 😎😎
I don’t know who you are to have made a video like this but you deserve some sort of an award on a global scale. This may very well have been the best dedication I’ve ever seen to any movie series ever. What you have done here isn’t good at all, it’s absolutely positively magnificent on every level. Thank you so much for doing this. it was really otherworldly to me. Maverick is probably the best movie sequel I’ve ever experienced in my life.
AGREED!!!
agreed
What was music?
Agreed too!!! 😊
@@jimpoole6037 @ 1:58 for one of many... Sigh.
Love it!
That was a great montage.
The best cut of top gun scenes with the greatest song... So emotional.... Thanks... 😍👍
Damn…that was awesome.
Amen
Thank you! That’s amazing! Great film editing and BGM!
Very good job....!
Man...why i'm crying....
The best people, the real fighters in Military, Law Enforcement and Firefighting rarely if ever make the highest rank. The admin types, ass kisses and book worms becomes the brass while the real people who make a difference stay on the front line, stand post and work the street. God bless the real fighters!!
Your not wrong there
The best are kept at the front line .... teaching the future leaders
Its one of life's mysteries...
Another great movie!
Dude I liked this better than the movie.
Bravo...Bravo👏👏👏
Great job !
Awesome. Ovid glad they released it in theators
Nice.
Semnat Kennedy ❤❤
Cant wait for a new one
Religia se modifica dupa o poveste de iubire in eter😢❤❤😢
Outstanding, Calvin.
great job!! love it!
One of my favourite scenes from TopGun Maverick is reunited with his wingman Tom Iceman kazansky. The last word from iceman is “The Navy needs Maverick. The kid needs Maverick. That’s why I fought for you. That’s why you’re still here.” One last word “Who is the better pilot? Is it you or me?”
Yes. Amazingly emotional scene. A highlight in the film.
Thank you.
Don't care what anyone says, you will always need pilots.
Damn, feels like Ace Combat Speech to final mission to me, Nice job man 🔥
great vid - thanks
This video makes a great trailor like video for both these movies
30 years later,
Eagle - phoenix and rooster son
Cowboy - Hangman son (hangman now a admiral)
they will make a movie like behind enemy lines
lol
Great job editing this!!!
❤❤❤
Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Top Gun: Maverick)
Awesome!!! Thanks for your creat!!
bravo!
You keep fighting!!
此の映画の制作に携わった、多くの俳優陣スタッフ方々に心から敬意を評しスタンディングオベ―ションを送ります。
My dream is not only flying supersonic fighters but also flying spacecraft.
Well done
Seriously great edit Calvin. If I could just make a slight suggestion, turn the music down 20%. Then it is a 10 of 10, now it is a 9.8 of 10.
That was cool.
well done
When that song comes on at 2:34 🙌😢
Tessa - Steve Jablonsky
TGM = 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐!
Admirals do not fly in combat mission. That's why he never made admiral.
最強、最高❤
Very awesome edit! I swear I am misty lol
Well folks this movie also sets the standard for brothers in arms and including the ladies who are out there putting their lives on the line thank them too and the saying we don't leave a man or woman behide ever.
Eres muy valiente
Tu amigo está orgulloso de ti 🕊️
awesome 🫡🫡
BGM: Tessa - Steve Jablonsky
3 + 2 = 5 Maverick's an ace now
Earned that status in a retired aircraft as well.
Yup!
