I see a lot of echo fans here but keep in mind, in the field are you really going to notice the difference. IMO if a echo dealer is 15min away and a stihl dealer is 2 hours away get an echo, same thing if the stihl dealer was 15 min away. Keep in mind that performance isn’t everything, comfort, and reliability will play into which one you choose.

I have been loyal to Stihl for about 10 years now. They had it right with the br600. When both echo and Stihl were in the great blower race they used the consumers as crash test dummies. I waited until two years ago to buy an 800x. Right at two years the muffler broke loose from the engine and about a month after repair the engine gave out.
I believe I’m going to switch to echo. I know nothing is perfect but I have been really happy with my echo chainsaws.

I own both as well, the 9010 is by far a BEAST 800 doesn’t even come close And I’ve always been a Stihl fan but Echo has really raised the bar, aside from recently having more issues with my 800 the simplicity of the engineering in the echo reminds me of the red max and shindawa blowers- simplicity, ruggedness, easy to maintain and clean. Stihl on the other hand is just a tad bit more higher maintenance and delicate. I don’t take my blowers to the dealer unless needed I am very familiar with small engines and power equipment. Overall depends on your liking but the Echo 9010 is reliable easy to maintain, stronger by far with the massive 79cc is plenty for what you needed for to take on any task

I've seen some people say that they don't think the 9010 has enough power difference to the 8010, but just from this video I can already tell that the 9010 can do what the 8010 just can't. Also in the case of the stihl 4-mix, as far as valve adjustment goes it really comes down to the user, I have two br600s for six years and just checked the valves for the first time ever this year, and they both were perfectly set. so it's a bit weird that some stihl's need periodic valve adjustments and others don't. But in the end it does come down to preference. Great vid!👍

Go with Sthil hands down even with the 4 mix engines. That 9010 is 26.7 lbs and the Sthil 800x weighs at 23.1 lbs I have a Sthil BR 600 10yrs with only one valve adjustment needed. Both are great machines. I see more pros using Sthil over any brand from blowers / weedeaters / chainsaws/ pruning saws than any brand. I like echo myself and sthil along side Husqvarna. The thing is Sthil is used so much. Redmax along side Sthil will update some massive blowers. Watch out.

@@markclark1605 weight for me isn't a problem, the br800c is 25.8 lbs. and the echo 8010 is about the same.(to clarify the post recall 8010 is a pound heavier than the 8010 prior to the august of 2019 recall) so another pound will most likely be unnoticeable. but I can't wait to see what stihl is going to release to succeed the br800, I'm pretty sure that stihl's next 1000+ cfm monster will also be 26 some odd pounds too.

@@benjaminleslie3155 I agree with you 100% when they make the units larger weight does become a issue. The Sthil BR 800CE has some nice features over any blower offered. Side start on the operator's back telescoping tube full harness straps. $ 50.00 more vs the 800X is a bargain and this model is chosen by many. Building a four stroke engine and maintaining this weight is impressive. I have owned echo in the past for eight years which was flawless. I own the Husqvarna 580bts and the Sthil BR 600 magnum which is over ten years old that's been flawless. I like a light weight blower myself with comfort. Old video I know, but you said the Stihl 800C has more blowing potential. Not true. In fact, Stihl reps will tell you in private that the X version has the more efficient tube even though both have the same exact rating. I have owned the 800X for several years as well as an 8010 (an early version which blows slightly harder than the updated version of the 8010 no matter what Echo claimed about both) and the 800 is light years ahead in all day, non stop wearing comfort, and for 90% + of all leaf blowing needs it is just as good as the big Echo's. It's only when the leaves are really soaked and heavy that the added performance of the big Echo's can actually be put to good use.
