I have the redmax 8500 and it is time for a new blower. So, i bought the big ole pb 8010 echo yesterday. It's lighter than the redmax, has a better harness (much better), and in my opinion throws out about 20 percent more air (force). Thanks Richie for taking time to inform us .
Great video, both are awesome machines. Being in lawn care I've found its very important what you mentioned about dealer support. They are both fine now but who's gonna take of you 2-3-4 years down the road. My local stihl dealers customer service is second to none, that's why they get my money everytime I buy equipment. Thanks for the upload!
Yes you are correct. I don’t have a ECHO dealer close to me but my STIHL dealer does take good care of me but ECHO dealer is still really good even though they are good distance away
The Echo 8010 is a beast!!! That thing literally moves bricks and the fan feature on the back is such a relief on brutally hot days. Echo all the way!!
Both blowers are great. However, wet leaves or wet grass, I prefer the Stihl BR 800, but large piles of leaves o grass, my preference is the Echo PB 8010T👍🏾
Great video! It good to hear you give your thoughts and then let viewers know it all about what the user needs in their business cfm or mph. Enjoy it brother!
good talk. from the bit about wet vs. dry leaves sounds like they both have their strengths in practical use. i'm still looking at the echo for that raw power, though 😂 if i end up buying the echo, i'd better not port the muffler like i do everything else; they might call the cops for noise complaints.
So I have the echo 8010 and I can’t seem to ever Adjust the left shoulder strap I noticed in the video that the person with the 8010 has his hands on that strap have you noticed that that was an issue thanks
I'm trying to decide between the Stihl 800C & the Echo PB 8010. I have a 3 acre yard with loads of trees and tons of leaves each autumn. Thanks for the video because the leaves get wet quick and that's something to consider. Here's a question since I'm not in the lawn care business: How do I go about getting a demo of each unit to make a decision? I live outside of Atlanta and there's a few places like Northern Tool and Home Depot...but I have no idea how that phone call goes or who it goes to...?
@Robert Shelton I have both the Echo PB8010 and Stihl BR800C. I doubt you would be disappointed with either blower but the Echo is now a PB9010 replacing the PB8010 and even more powerful than before with both higher CFM at 1110 and wet leave pushing MPH at 220 closing the MPH gap on the Stihl BR800 at 239 MPH and well over the Stihl’s 912 CFM. My vote would be PB9010 with the 5 year homeowner warranty.
I have two Redmax 8500. The one that i have had for about 7 years now finally went Tango Uniform on me. So I'm probably going to purcase the new Echo and use my Redmax (the one that is still operational) as my back up. Comments........ and Go
Chad Whitmire that’s great longevity out of that redmax shows you take care of your equipment. The ECHO is an absolute beast of a blower. It’s big but comfortable on your back. Does put some strain on your tube side arm after long periods but to me that’s with all big blowers after long periods
If you had to choose just one of them what would you get? I have 5 acres of wooded lawn so lots of leaves. I’m just a homeowner not a contractor like you. Thanks
You could start it when it is on the ground for the first start of the day, warm it first before putting it on, that way if you have the choke set wrong, etc... you won't have to take it back off anyway. But that side start is convenient for when you need to kill the engine to talk to a customer, you don't have to take it off to start it again, it already warm. Any kind of stuff that you dislike could possibly be an opportunity for a patent. Think about it. lol It still might be a good design ideal to access the choke from the "operator in use" position, like the pull start ideal they added. Just add the choke handle next to the pull start via cable and lever handle. Don't add it to the right hand controls, no need to make it weigh any more than it needs to be, add it to the left side near the pull start. that way if it is a cold fall day, and you talk a little too long, you can choke in operator position and not have to take it off to go back to work.
I Have the Sthil BR 700 and its Great but the Gas Tank is too Small and I'm always having to fill it up with Gas.... I Think I'm Gonna Make my 700 my Spare and Purchase the BR 800C, I Demo'ed the BR 800C and I Really Liked it 👍🏻 Thanks again Richey, for the Info you put out Brother 🇺🇸

I must say though based on my other stihl equipment stihl lasts longer and is more reliable than echo and the echo warranty is a joke. Lucky for me I work on my own equipment.
I gotta disagree my old Stihl is beast and my new echo well old but newer has been locked up by lazy employee finally had to replace the pull string the straps are starting to degrade and need replaced but still starts first pull like my new shindawa I do like how Stihl mainly uses one style of air filter but I like my echos better just had better luck also killed a huskivarna blower it runs but don't like being full time I can tell it's running worse the more it gets ran
I just got the 770h but returned it for the T then my dealer told me about the new echos and how powerful they are only $100 more. I’m not sure I even need all that though and I don’t like that it gets so loud but I’m still considering. Yours is the first vid I watched about to watch more!

I love my backpack blowers ! But when it comes to bigger straight large -yard leaf clean ups , I use a push blower , fewer steps walking around and less on the back and arms !. The stand on blowers are lot$ of money , but worth it !
To funny great review both are great blowers I bought the Stihl 800C-E it's more versatile then the Echo I find....I loved when you said the Echo sounds "like a dirt bike on you're back" it does have a great sound.
I’ve used both. They both will blow a hole in the ground. That’s plenty of power for both. One thing I did notice from THIS video, is your pops kept ahold of that chest strap the entire time like it was trying to choke home or maybe it was just a comfortable place to rest his hand. P.S. I was pooping while I watched this.
Yea I noticed it too afterwards and ask him why he said it was too high. So I ask why he didnt adjust it and he told me because he was only using it for the one yard so there was no need to change where I had it set. He loves his BR700
The $50 lower price tag for Echo is outwieghed by the fuel efficiency of the STIHL. At 25 hours of use, the STIHL uses about $60 less in fuel. But I agree with the statement made at the end - go with whoever gives you the best dealer support. Hard to quantify the value there, but any landscaper knows you will see those people a lot and the time and convenience and just lack of headaches you have to deal with when you need servicing or sales support is worth almost any amount of dollars saved.

@@thomascarroll3889 It does not even cost $600 dollars of fuel for 25 hours of use in either machine, so how can Echo use $600 more in fuel consumption per 25 hours of use vs the Stihl? Lol Thanks
Finally! Someone compared the blowers as to wet leaves. I tried out the Echo and one thing I didn't like was the hose was very stiff and took some effort to swing back and forth which doesn't surprise me because we ran Echo for years and all of them were the same way. We recently switch to Sthil and run BR700's and so far they've been great blowers with only the recommended valve adjustment done once. Another reason for us to switch everything to Sthil was that we had a Echo PB770 that was literally a few weeks over the warranty and the motor sized and our dealer basically said too bad after buying thousands of dollars of Echo tools over the years so we went elsewhere.
Damn bro 2 vidjas in one day. I heard yall all the way in gwinnett with that damn echo. Be good bro and try to stay dry tomorrow and Friday. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Lol that’s the first thing that gets most people’s attention is the sound. I do love the sound she makes. Merry Christmas too you and your family as well.
Depends on which one you get. I was at a stihl supplier 2 days ago and there were like 3 different br 800's . An br 800 X ; br 800 C ; and a br 800bh I believe(don't quote me on the bh part). But the br 800 starts at 599.00 as of this post, the other models start in the 600's. So all will run you 640.00 and up minimum after taxes.
I will say I have used Husqvarna, Echo, and Sthil. Husqvarna has the lest power but the best fuel consumption. Sthil is the lightest and quietest and lightest of the models. Echo I have found to have a medium of all aspects. It has the most power, not to heavy, and in the end is a little louder the competitors.
Man!!! You know what, I should have DM'd you on IG instead and then we could have seen how many more comments before someone else spotted her!!!! As always God bless, Dirty Jersey out!!!! P.S. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!!!
The stihl might not be as strong as the echo but to be completely honest the stihl is way more comfortable to use all day the tube is way lighter in the hand and can be manipulated a lot easier from side to side
Very good video and great information. I've been doing research on both because I need another big backpack blower. I currently have a Husqvarna 570BTS,which is a beast, but I need another one. Great channel also.
Hey Richey I have a Husqvarna 580bts.I like how it runs but I havnt operated the echo or still that you have so I don't know how it compares.I work in Dalton of you would like to run my Husqvarna i could I m you on Facebook and see about meeting up sometime
the echo is a monster i tried it a few months ago will be getting one at some point i have the 580bts right now i love it the echo sounds like a dirt bike and the weight is better then the 580bts its a little lighter and has way more cfm then the 580bts dose and i have never used stihl never will
18 comments in and no one notice the boom, boom in back ground!!! I zoomed in but I can't figure it out??? What you like Richie??? I'm personally a good old fashioned Springfield XD guy!!!!
8010 and BR800 are both pretty new, hard to tell which will be more reliable in the longrun. I've heard of landscapers seeing 3,000 hours out of some BR600's, hopefully the 800 will be similar. All in all I'd say you can't go wrong with either one. The stihl does seem like a smoother running engine with less vibration, which goes a long way with the life of the engine.
Big Injun you shouldn't be giving a longevity report when you have no fucking clue what you're talking about lol!! A true cycle like that echo will outlast that valve ridden 4 mix awful blaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh sounding piece of shit any day of the week. If you truly knew you'd know they eventually end up having valve problems
kodiak wild actually over the years I’ve found that steel burns way more gas than an echo Saba side only using 22 years of experience Echo Tends to last longer to
stihl is excellent and I own a stihl pole hedger, stick edger, hand held blower and string trimmer but as far as the br800 and echo 8010 there is no comparison in power. The echo has more power period and if you think the br800 is stronger or even equal to the power of the echo 8010 then you my friend are a fool .
Stihl blowers need larger fuel tanks. My Redmax blowers go almost an hour longer before refueling. It's difficult to see the fuel level in the tank also. The fuel tank is my only complaint. The performance is close to the big 2 strokes but more fuel efficient and quieter(or is it just a lower pitch?). Perhaps more durable. I have an ancient BR600 that's still making money.
My two sons are in their 7 TH. year in the landscaping business. They must have over 30 small machines, hand, backpack blowers, chainsaws, weed wackers, and hedge trimmers etc. The number of Stihl vs Echo is night to day. At this point, they probably would not take a Stihl machine if you gave it. The breakdown rate is crazy. The Echo was only one and it was fixed on their 5 year warranty. Echo all the way !

I think the Red Max 8550, might be exactly the same as the 8500. Except , I think they changed the tube, somehow to increase power.
Im not sure but they did make changes from my understanding to the tube.
Nothing like the echo PB’s, you can empty a pond with them.
Agreed absolute workhorses
If you're on Facebook, join my landscape owners group. We would love to have you has a member and your insight.
Very good video and great information. I've been doing research on both because I need another big backpack blower. I currently have a Husqvarna 570BTS,which is a beast, but I need another one.
Great channel also.
Bryant Lawn Serves Unlimited Maruyama BL9000H Check that one out pretty new but are used A friend of mine owns one impressive
Thanks. Will do.
Stihl
Most all of them are good check with the dealer that is willing to help you the most and take care of you
@@PlemonsLawnCare thank you. Will do.
Waiting for redmax to out perform again
When are they coming out with newer redmax
Great stuff bro
Why are you playing music for, I want to hear the machines
Dwight Hobbs some vids have music some don’t can’t make you all happy
@@PlemonsLawnCare I vote no music, that stuff isnt music anyway.
Can’t wait my hands on the 9550 redmax backpack blower lol 😂. May cost 850 💵
I am interested in trying out a red max as well
Hey Richey I have a Husqvarna 580bts.I like how it runs but I havnt operated the echo or still that you have so I don't know how it compares.I work in Dalton of you would like to run my Husqvarna i could I m you on Facebook and see about meeting up sometime
the echo is a monster i tried it a few months ago will be getting one at some point i have the 580bts right now i love it the echo sounds like a dirt bike and the weight is better then the 580bts its a little lighter and has way more cfm then the 580bts dose and i have never used stihl never will
That would be great brother. Just shoot me a message and will make it happen brother
Is that 8010 even legal?Probably not in California
If you enjoy the 8010, then you will really love the 9010!
I’ve got a 9010 now. It’s fantastic
The Redmax is almost a decade old. I would wait for the next gen Redmax and see.
I have the 8550 now
@@PlemonsLawnCare I just read the spec on the 8550. It's not impressive. It's a small incremental update. The Echo is the current big dog.
Br800c is the beast. I bought last year, and blew snow no problem
18 comments in and no one notice the boom, boom in back ground!!! I zoomed in but I can't figure it out??? What you like Richie??? I'm personally a good old fashioned Springfield XD guy!!!!
I did not needed
That is a Glock 43
Buy the sthil, mod it take off the emission stuff and it out blows the 8010. Exhaust mod* and revlimiter. It only revs to 5k rpm! It can take 6k...
I think to conserve warranty I will stick to factory settings
More speed does not equate to more CFM..... Go educate yourself...
wanted to hear the blowers, not the music.
I’m sorry some videos get music some don’t. Can’t please everyone
@@PlemonsLawnCare that is true. ive noticed a growing trend in ppl disliking music in review videos so i know im not the only one.
Billy Darley no brother your not the only one. We have some vids with just sound of the equipment that we are starting to post up
Stihl took a loss in cfm for a gain in dependability. Stihl is 4 stroke, with 2 stroke mix. The engine will last way longer.
@@chickenknucklez2604 maybe if you knew how to preform basic maintenance you wouldn’t have problems
@@GrantsDad how bout I buy a real 2 cycle and I won't even worry about the maintenance and they can save the headaches for dumbasses like u 😭
@@chickenknucklez2604 I save money on gas and my machine doesn’t sound like it’s about to destroy itself
Echo is the best
The Echo is more powerful but the Stihl engine is better and will outlast it.
the echo needs every bit of that fuel tank 😂 she is a thirsty girl....
by the gallons lol
kodiak wild actually over the years I’ve found that steel burns way more gas than an echo Saba side only using 22 years of experience Echo Tends to last longer to
Yes she sure is. Only downfall about it but it sure makes up in power
stihl is excellent and I own a stihl pole hedger, stick edger, hand held
blower and string trimmer but as far as the br800 and echo 8010 there
is no comparison in power. The echo has more power period and if you
think the br800 is stronger or even equal to the power of the echo 8010
then you my friend are a fool .
Cool video but I could definitely do without the music lol
Agree not there for the music unless it’s the equipment making the music aka the blowers, mowers and whatever lawn equipment the video is featuring.,!
Fred Nowicki that is great to hear we currently are fazing out all of our Stihl as well because of breakdowns
You missed one...
nope
😂🤣😂🤣
Redmax 8500 all day but I want to try the new echo I have no use for the stihl 4 mix system
nopp.
And 3 years later the 9010 is destroying the 8010 and the 800. If only the 9010 had a side start.
I'm trying to reconcile the awesome beard with the not awesome skinny jean music. Good educational vid, s*** music.
LOL thank you for enjoying the video minus the music. Sometimes music is the toughest part with all the regs on copyrights. Sometimes we have use what we can get our hands on.
Nothing compares to an echo 8010.
Stihl is best
You want a real blower with
Power just get your self a
Husqvarna or Red Max
7500 or 8500
Or Marymua Bl900!
I have the husky and red max 8550 blowers as well. Red max is my top blower and used a maruyama blower wasn’t impressed with it.
@@PlemonsLawnCare I have both I agree the best all around blower is the 75 or 85
Husqvarna or red max other than the weight they move debris! The Marymua
Bl900 handle feels strange and its not
Worth nothing with the tornado 🌪 tip off!
I started to watch this video,
but your gun scares me.
So I do not want watch Any more of your videos.
The Sthil gets better fuel efficiency and the X series is lighter. Both are good depending on what your doing.
I think the Red Max 8550, might be exactly the same as the 8500. Except , I think they changed the tube, somehow to increase power.
