I really like your idea of waist strap for the echo blower. Thinking of buying it but worried about my back and was it strap would help offload. Did you ever try to add one on?
I got my Stihl BR 800X a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed using it (first Stihl back pack blower). I actually sold my Husky 580 BTS and my Echo 770T to purchase the new BR 800X and so far I'm glad I did.
It has the same power of the 580. I guess the pull start on the side was the deciding factor. The echo 770 were in a lower category (br600 level) so that was a big upgrade I am sure.
