Ororo Munroe ( Storm ) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum, first appearing in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975). Descended from a long line of African witch-priestesses, Storm is a member of a fictional subspecies of humans born with superhuman abilities known as mutants. She is able to control the weather and atmosphere and is considered to be one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, and one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.
There is a possibility that Storm is the grandmother of Bishop as it was shown in X-Men: The Times and Life of Lucas Bishop #3 Bishop's grandmother and Storm were drawn remarkably similar and Bishop's grandmother also appears to have a rather intimate knowledge of the X-Men's history something only a member of the X-Men would know.
Storm was the third mutant that Professor Xavier met before founding the X-Men (the first being Magneto, followed by Sage).
Storm has been stated to be a possible Omega Level Mutant on some occasions:
Ororo was considered a Potential Omega Level Mutant by Sentinel Squad O*N*E pilots at one point.
She was stated to be in the elite class of mutants with Omega-Level potential.
Using the character for an arc of X-Men Vol. 4, G. Willow Wilson stated in an interview that Storm was an "Omega Mutant".
Ororo's white hair apparently isn't a mutation but a part of her genetic legacy, as X-Men: Declassified #1 states that "born with white hair and blue eyes, [her] genetic mutation would not manifest until she reached adolescence."
Ororo is a worshipper of Gaea
Storm was originally conceived by Dave Cockrum as "the Black Cat," a character who could transform into a feline creature or a house cat. The character was shelved for a time, along with the rest of the new X-Men project, and ultimately made redundant by the large number of cat-themed characters that had been introduced in the interim. When the project resumed, it was decided that the team needed another female character, and Roy Thomas suggested replacing the weather-controlling Typhoon with a female equivalent. Cockrum then quickly outlined the idea for Storm, leaving the Black Cat costume unchanged but changing the character's hair from brunette to white.
In the 70s, Dave Cockrum planned to create an all-female team named The Furies which teamed-up Storm with Clea, Tigra, Namorita, Dragonfly, and a new character called Moon Fang. Despite the book being tentatively greenlit, Cockrum never finished the plot for the team's first story, and the idea eventually fell apart.
    The name "Ororo" means "Beauty".
In Uncanny X-Men #253 while Storm was in the hospital after being reverted into a pre-teen body, one of the doctors said, "But her features don't fit any conventional classification. Not Negroid, Caucasian, or Oriental -- Yet somehow, an amalgam of the rarest elements of them all."
Storm is currently one of the only people on Earth-616 who has been a member of the X-Men, Avengers, and Fantastic Four. The others are Spider-Man and Wolverine.
Storm's original spacious attic garden and bed room was made for her by Nightcrawler.
With the destruction of the original X-Mansion, Storm, has since taken up residency and rebuilt her garden in one of the many free floating towers of the new Grey School.
Ororo was a partial nudist, due to her time being worshipped as a goddess, and during her time with X-Men.
She eventually learned from Jean to dress regularly in clothing.
In celebration of Marvel Comics 80th anniversary, Storm, along with Mystique and Dark Phoenix were featured in a special line of Barbie fashion dolls.
In X-Men #102, Ororo's birth year is given as being late 1950 or early 1951, thus making her 25 during the issue at hand.
The Rain Queens from from Balobedu people (South Africa) are called Mujaji or Modjadji,
who possibly inspired the creation of the goddess Mujaji, one of the Orisha, the Gods of Wakanda.

This was excellent. You REALLY did the homework on this. I've been reading the X-men since the late 70's and this sure brought back the memories. What gets me about Storm is that she's written in a way that every guy who encounters her is left intrigued. I want to see her attend a gathering that includes T'Challa, Dr. Doom, Forge, Arkon, Loki and Dracula! I mean ... awkwaaaard...

As a Storm fan and when I say that I mean there is no other superhero I place above her at all! You done an amazing job and because of it you will have haters but like I say "build yuh haters cause it means you’re doing something great". As for Emma..she’s a world-class level mutant Storm is the first Omega-Level Mutant as she is the first to transcend of her own natural power..no outside entity or possessions. Marvel realized they made a mistake letting her Goddess form slip through into the comic pages and that is why they never revisited that power ever again.

That was very well done. I did not know all the events that happened within the 90s and 2000s. Only one correction Amahl Farouk is the mutant that is the host of the ancient spirit/mutant Consciousness known as the shadow king. You should try to cover all the stuff that happened recently in the Comics, such as the age of the mutant nation on the living island called Krakoa and how storm and some X-Men/mutants colonized and conquered Mars. Those comics are on Marvel Unlimited.

When will ANYONE show Storm using more of all forms of Heat♨️,Fire🔥 , Solar and Heat Waves☀️☄, Melting instead of Freezing.🌡⛱. I'm so sick of the the boring⚡🌫⛈🌬❄🌊. They should do battle of Storm vs. Magneto, Bobby, Firestorm, Human Torch, and Sunfire. That would really test how much of a Omega Mutant she is...if any. Let's face it, Storm will NEVER get the creativity in Motion Pictures, Animation and Comic as other Top characters..Magneto, Pheonix, Iceman, Wolverine, Rogue...

Storm is East African but of the Horn of Africa ethnicity. The typical Somali, Ethiopean, Eritrean, Rwandese Tutsi, Western Ugandan, Dinka/South Sudanes, Chadic, Fulani looking actress should play her in live action movie. Halle and Shap just dont look like Storm or ethnic Horn of Africa at all. Not any beautiful black lady can do Storm. That East African look is very particular in Africa. Angella Basset, Imani, Gina Torres though older now could make the perfect Storm. Imani is Storm's actual ethnicity. These all have that ethnic look. Most mainstream media and Hollywood think the typical African look is West African and thats far from the truth. Most African(black africans) tend to be shorter, less dark skinned and way less muscular or way leaner than typical West africans. Seeing west african looking people(caribs, americans, british) acting as southern african Bantu people(Shaka Zulu) or Ethiopeans or even Egyptians is very hilarious to Africans lol. No Idris Elba doesnt look Ethiopean, he looks West African lol! The casting of Forest Whitaker and Kerry Washington in Last King of Scotland was perfect though. Whitaker had the tall brooding physicality of southern Sudanic peoples and Kerry had the short and fragile look of central and southern Ugandan people. I always pray everyday Storm is cast right. She is my top 3 superheroes with Black Panther and Batman

@@TheRealRevelation You don’t have to explain anything to an outsider who know nothing of American history or Americans and their opinions on American affairs are irrelevant. The shame is the fact that racism exists..then and now but this is something that us Americans both Black and white are building a better future for. Our history is very important to us especially Afro-Americans. Marvel chose this route to connect with the ppl of this land and yes their are some Americans who don’t like the truth but there are more who excepts it. I work with ppl who are not born here that is scared of whites so they bow at their feet and the whites speaks I’ll of them behind their backs..to us. So leave him to his opinions cause he is simple and ignorant when it comes to the truth of a land who truly don’t care about his existence.
