I fell in love with Storm in issue # 215. She defeated 3 super powered beings while she was powerless. She used her cunningnes and smarts. Great issue.

She's pretty great, though waaaaay underused regardless whether it's a cartoon, comic, movie or whatever. Storm can stop entire ARMIES, if you really think about her abilities. She can flash freeze enemies, or even combine abilities mentioned in the video to flash-freeze the air in peoples' lungs...or ears. She can theoretically disrupt the electrical signals in peoples' brains. She can "drown" someone by filling their lungs with water, or borrow a trick from "Avatar" and manipulate the blood in someone's body.
She can breathe underwater without gills. She can use energy in space to move herself around, or mess with the atmosphere to wipe out everyone on a continent by allowing dangerous types of radiation through. Storm could help clear up the climate crisis, or even terraform the electro field and/or atmosphere of any planet that the X-Men or Wakanda want to live on. And all of this is still the "short" list.
But too often, all Storm's allowed to do is attack with lightning that usually isn't enough on its own, and do her typical floating-against-the-wind poses that look great but solve nothing.
Some of these writers need more imagination.
She was awesome in the 90s cartoon. So many times, she was the MVP who saved the entire team from Omega Red, Nimrod, etc. Otherwise, I agree with you on being under used.
not to mention, her lightning in the movies is nerfed.
I wouldn’t say she’s underused in comics. She’s one of the most consistent members of the X-men and she’s respected/feared by literally everyone. She just fought Death of the original Horsemen and beat him and it wasn’t really a surprise to anyone. 10 mutants were chosen to defend the earth against these otherworldly threats and she was one of the 10. I think she’s about to get even more love here soon
Storm's powers would also allow for electromagnetic field manipulation basically allowing her to do anything that Magneto has done since Storm can manipulate all forms of em energy.
All thunderstorms (physics-based) produce powerful, giant, electromagnetic fields that Storm can and has bend to her will. Storm has opened the magnetosphere of the earth to invite in solar radiation. She has used EM force to create lava channels and magnetic vortexes. She was able to erase a digital camera's memory card while not destroying the entire camera itself by creating a magnetic field of a hyper-ionized patch of air (a very good example of acute precision and control of electrons). On certain occasions, Storm created her own electromagnetic field. In X-Treme X-Men #38, Strom created an electromagnetic field which allowed her to attract the metal knives Calisto threw at her. She can go down to the electron level(which makes her a sub-atomic level manipulator) at the small scale, and galactic/dimensional at the grand scale. This is all canon btw.

Storm needs her own movie. It is also one of the reasons I want the MCU to recast T'challa. We need this for the culture. Can you imagine seeing storm and T'challa on the big screen. Wow just powerful

yes, she does just need to do her justice though get the right actress for the part and who can act perfectly and get her origin story right she is from Africa Kenya, and not the tip of Africa which is Egypt there was no light-skinned person in those days since she from 1970 through 1989 nothing against light-skinned I just would like to see a realistic version a dark-skinned person to play her who can do her right and who could act!

Ms Ororo Monroe is 1of my all time favorite characters in any comic universe! You all better put some serious Respect on her name! She needs her own Disney plus series and movie! I wish they would give her more credit because she's "X-tremely" and her powers are virtually limitless!

I love Storm. Always have and I'd like Marvel in their movies to finally start treating her like they should. She's carried Marvel for years in comics, cartoons and video games. Time to give her the same type of treatment and hype that they've given Iron Man in my opinion.
The comic book prequel to X-Men Evolution states that Storm can feel every leaf dancing in the wind. This grants her a similar power to Spider-Man’s spider sense in that she can instantly know what’s in her surroundings.
At this point. A Storm movie has to be produced by a big-shot company. This woman's prowess is unparalleled. And Dominique Jackson has to play that role.
Storms a monster she needs a series or solo movie real talk
I’ve always thought it was a lost opportunity when Storm was never given an arch nemesis. With Storm full of life and light, her arch nemesis could easily be Selene with her affinity to death and darkness. Even when she had her own solo book- this was an aspect of major character that went untouched leaving her stories mediocre.

Your casting of Anna Diop as Storm is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I really agree!!! However, I disagree with her props. She never really gets them. They dont know what to do with her. They just keep making her lose her powers. We have ONLY seen her do TWO major OMEGA feat (compared to her other contemporaries). One being during The Brood invasion and the other when she fixed Trion. We saw Captain Marvel use magic before Storm. I'm tired of Storm being used as a way to say "See somebody Blk is part of the team'. I wanna see some Phoenix type feats. AMAZING video btw

But they are generally really powerful, and are generally always old, like thousands of years old.
Like Selene, Gabriel Shepherd, and I think even Apocalypse.
Look them up, Externals are usually Omega Level.

Storm was played and voiced by some of the most beautiful black women I’ve ever seen. Storm is a great an epic character I can’t wait for them to make her own movie. One thing I always wondered, why is it that they never had storm in our people on natural ethnic hair style of kinky curly not straight. You’ve outdone yourself Blerd, much appreciated for the hard work you put in.
Love that you cover Black superheroes intelligently without falling into the internet trap of buzzwords no matter how well they fit. Those videos always feel more like being talked at and lectured than having someone who loves a character and gives them a spotlight while pointing out racial issues where relevant to the character.
Like how you didn't hold back any fact about Storm at all including her powers settings and overall abilities. Most people who talks about Storm refuses to put *RESPECT* on her name.

Storm is definitely an iconic character. The true essence of a powerful black woman! Has always been my favorite comic book character. Was so proud when she was finally a confirmed omega.

It made me so happy now that not only because of her godlike powers but she has officially ascended to an actual Goddess, her goddess name is Hadari Yao, it means walker of clouds and protects the balance of all things. I also believe that her sensitivity to all things life and weather is a form of witchy telepathy, she knows when something is wrong, shes able to shield herself from telepaths probing and shes able to use her lightning to create portals thats also from her witch side. We musnt forget even if storm wasnt a mutant she would still be a witch as she comes from a long line of em her mom was one her grandmother and so on n so forth all of the women n her fam were high priestess n their times, one was the first sorcerer supreme, she literally comes from greatness. The writers like to focus on her weather manipulation cuz its more known but her witchy powers are in her thats why her control over the wind is so precise she damn near has telekinesis like a witch. If it was jus wind thats all it would be but shes able to mold it and use it as telekinesis if she so pleased. People lose their minds when she starts busting out magic like "storm doesnt have magic" i be like do u not know she comes from a powerful long line of magic and that actual African Gods favor and bless her family line and that she can call on em when she needs em? Do u know that she splits the High Priestess card equally with the Scarlett Witch and Agatha Harkness? "How does she split the title with 2 powerful witches" BECAUSE SHES A POWERFUL WITCH TO
I heard of Storm a long time ago she was actually what got me into reading comics .
We need an update on Storm and her powers and all that she can actually do and potentially do with and without morals since she’s now an Omega Level Mutant, an Arakki Murant and the Regent of Sol. It’s also been said that Storm and Marvel Girl are on par with the Phoenix therefore Storm, Marvel Girl, Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel are on the same level. Her talk with Vulcan says that her control over energy is absolute and so she can enhance her physical attributes. Her mystical abilities allows her to bypass power dampeners and other negations that may affect her powers. She is now one with cosmic energies and can most likely walk on or fly into the sun and survive
Storm has risen above just being a comic character, she’s become a symbol

I recently reread an issue where she said that while she believed it was impossible to kill Mr. Sinister, she could temporarily put him out of commission by "scrambling his brains" with lightning or "freezing the air in his lungs.
Also saw a video about the 90s TV series & the pilot, claiming that her romance with Wolverine was adapted from the cartoon.

Storm has always been a favorite of mine and I'd love to see her and her "low key" abilities and skillsets in a stand-alone movie. I will say my first choice to portray her would be Jodie Turn-Forster from Queen and Slim, but your choice is a strong contender.

I've always known about Storm and I don't feel like the movies do her true justice. I love Storm and I wished they would get into more of her mystical background. I would love to see Storm use magic on a Doctor Strange level. If anything she has more magic potential then Dr Strange who had nothing to do with magic before hand. Mad Props Blerd! I've been reading comics since 1975, so I've known about her for decades. She is DEFINITIVELY one of my ALL-TIME favorite X-Men with Bishop & Synch being close second. Surprisingly, I learned something in this video. I was not aware she could bend light around her. Thought that was an Invisible Woman thing. Hopefully this can be elaborated on at a future time.
BTW, You may hate doing character specific videos, but the masses will Always need to be educated, Peace!

I’m surprised you didn’t mention or show Anok Yai Ha dressed as Storm at Heidi Klum’s Costume Party in 2019
Age of X, she was coupled with Namor, and there was an alternative universe version of Storm that was in Love with Cyclops, hence the issue with the famous Storm Cyclops kiss. You did a good job, and I did indeed learn something new.
