Our visit Poznań travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, churches and museums. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Poznań tourism brochure, Poznań itinerary or Poznań, Poland city tour.
10 Things to do in Poznań, Poland Travel Guide script:
Eager to explore Poznan, our first stop of the day was the Old Market Square, which is a sight to behold. As soon as we turned the street from our apartment, we were greeted with the Old Town Hall.
The top attraction here is a row of buildings known as the Merchant Houses. They stand shoulder to shoulder and are painted in different patterns, adding a bright splash of colour to the town.
The Royal Castle dates back to 1249, though if you think it looks rather new, that’s because it was mostly destroyed during WW2 and it had to be rebuilt. After paying for our tickets, we made a beeline straight for the tower, to enjoy some views of Poznan.
After visiting the castle, we did some wandering around the Old Town and ended up at the Former Jesuit College. This is where young people were educated in theology and philosophy.
Today the college houses the City Council, so we couldn’t really tour the place, but they do have a nice courtyard and a cafe for visitors.
Another thing to do in Poznan is visit Fara Poznanska, a beautiful Baroque church located right next to the Former Jesuit College. We arrived just as they were setting up for the weekly concert, so we sat down for a bit of music.
From there, we walked west of the Old Town, where things have more of a modern look. We saw the Fontana Wolnosh-chi Wolności, had a quick peek inside the Imperial Castle, and we also discovered that Polish people have a big love for ice cream.
We later googled Kolorowa and discovered that it’s the best ice cream shop in Poznan, so maybe we should’ve stood in line!
After visiting Cathedral Island, we went past Śródka, which is a really cool neighbourhood with lots of street art. We then had a little break by Lake Malta, which looked to be a popular weekend spot.
Another cool thing to do in Poznan is to visit KontenerArt, which is part urban beach, outdoor bar, art space, children’s playground, food cart central, and herb and spice garden. This was an unexpected find and it was really nice to see people of all ages enjoying this space.
On a rainy afternoon, we paid a quick visit to Poznan’s Archaeological Museum. Admittedly, it’s mostly geared towards children, but it was a fun way to stay dry.
And that’s a wrap for our quick travel guide to Poznan! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around town on your visit. If there are any other things to do in Poznan that you think should be on this list, feel free to share those with fellow travellers. Happy travels and until next time!

Im so happy that you enjoyed your stay in my city and to see Poznan from your point of view! :) Kolorowa is my favourite ice cream parlor! To be honest the line looks the same every day - exept for rainy days, so my season for ice creams there are from autumn to winter haha! The line moves pretty fast but I understand that you were tired - lucky you, you were in Poland when it was perfect summer weather :) take care! xx

On the Cathedral Island there are some museums about the origins of the site, and Poland as well :) Anyway, the castle was not destroyed during ww2, it was in ruins since 17th century, what you see now is a modern, quite controversial reconstruction. But the view is nice!

I hope that you were in Old Browary and in the museum - Brama Poznania (Porta Posnania) during your stay in Poznan. :) Old Browery is a compilation of modern shopping mall, art and business center and it was built on the site of an old, real brewery. :) on the other hand, Brama Poznania (Porta Posnania) is really cool modern type museum which tells a story of the Cathedral Island using various multimedia and interactive presentations. The history spans over a period of more than a millennium. It is located in the oldest part of Poznan where the Warta and the Cybina rivers cross. You have actually filmed it so I hope that you were inside. ;) Ice-creams in Kolorowa are really amazing. :D They are sooo tasty and I always stand in line when I am near. It's like tradition, ritual habit. :) My favourite taste is snickers, it's like OMG after just one bite! :) Enjoy your stay in Poland! I hope you spend wonderful and memorable time here. Regards!

Those merchant houses were historically of course real merchant houses with shops at the bottom and apartments upstairs. But they were destroyed during the WWII and they decided to rebuild them not as separate houses, but rather a "normal" apartment building. The front was carved and painted to mimic the historical role, but it's not authentic anymore. Note that there are only a couple of entrances to the building, which sort of gives away the real nature of the building.

They were honestly about equal. Maybe I'd go with Poznan slightly.

More touristy things to do in Poznan but Wroclaw is more fun for just wandering around.

I've been studying in Poznan, and it's probably it's not as impressive city in Poland as Cracow, Wroclaw or Gdansk, but... it's amazing city to live in

I like it! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
