I drive by a dealership in Ontario Canada daily with more 392 hemi jeeps and a few trucks like this they don't seem to disappear as fast as 2-3 years ago. 😂
To be fair, while the stock Hemi sounds better, it isn’t loud. They did an amazing job with getting the dual mufflers\exhaust to tame it to low levels, and you can barely even hear the stock exhaust from inside the 5th Gen cab. If you want loud, you have to go aftermarket exhaust. Personally, I love the stock low volume but deep grumble of the 1500 Hemi and prefer it over 95% of aftermarket exhaust systems.
I get that everyone always seems to want to go bigger, but 35's are more than enough for anything short of rock crawling. The fact that they don't offer a factory 37 isn't a big deal.
Right 35's are more than enough for anything *short* of rock crawling, but Andre is talking about rock crawling that's why he mentioned 37s. Plus you do want a bigger tire to crawl in a bigger heavier truck that's just physics
I love it, Andre is such a drama Queen when he's off-roading. I' m waiting for a nervous breakdown. Please calm down Andre, we want you around for a long time!
An expensive car is on loan. Subaru probably started the worry about taking care of the vehicles. Subaru won't supply anymore to TFL. They need to keep the car companies happy, so they'll keep getting them to review.
I don’t get the move to the 6cyl. If it got way better gas mileage that might be something. Given that stelantis already has some sketchy build quality and now adding a turbo engine sounds like a recipe for making good friends with the dealership service manager
The move to 6 cyl was for lower emissions, not better fuel economy I spent a couple hours on the Ram forums looking for mentions of thermostat issues and only found one mention of a thermostat issue. It doesn’t seem to be as pervasive as many commenters would suggest.
February 2024: While recently speaking with the media at a conference in San Francisco, California, Ram and Dodge boss Tim Kuniskis said Stellantis chief executive Carlos Tavares isn’t allowing the firm “to ever buy a single credit,” and says that this has forced the brand to innovate to ensure it complies with emissions regulations. This is particularly evident with the Ram 1500. According to Kuniskis, if Stellantis were buying regulatory credits, it would probably still be selling the 1500 with a Hemi V8. Instead, it has dropped that engine for 2025 and replaced it with the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six
Interesting to see how well the RHO will be accepted by buyers. There were hiccups when raptor went ecoboost too. TFL should have acquired one since TFL has had history of ownership of super trucks
@@CharlesTheDachshundwhy do you say that? They have orders out against them all over. I am unsure of the expectation seeing how broncos and land cruisers are also all available across many markets. 13mm socket/wrench and the exhaust tips come off in less than 30 seconds per tip. That's the 1st thing we do before crawling in our TRX. Same deal with the man-step but that's a bit more cumbersome with 5 bolts.

All you need to do is look at the MSRP, $86k, and know it's going to spend the next six months to two years on a dealer lot. If the dealership will even accept delivery, since RAM dealers are having huge issues with the lack of sales and cost of their floor plan loans. One dealer has one for $72k. Just another RAM that can't drive off the dealer lot.
they are selling like hot cakes....over 3000 orders so far, every single one that hits a lot gets sold same day...not sure where people get their info from LOL.
You guys are great, appreciate the TFL channel. “ Ooooh I’m a professional, Please don’t bang the frame, Alright now my rear end….. My poor rear end, 😂 I think I touched a little bit, can you look at my pipe with a camera. Pipe looks good.” 👍🏼

The Bed Step protects the Exhaust Tip; easier to replace a $200 bed step mounted with just a few bolts than replace the $500+ one piece exhaust end component. Takes less then 10 minutes to replace that bed step, though I bet you could continue beating the hell out of it before the safety or functionality becomes compromised.
Pushing that much HP out of a 6 cylinder? Longevity is not going to be at strong suit considering it's a Dodge, Chrysler, Stelantis whatever they're called now. Older Dodges were tough machines but these new ones are just junk.
It's not so much how much power they are pushing, but rather that it's a Dodge that's the real problem. The Ecoboost (3.5 and 2.7) engines put out great power and have been thoroughly reliable for me (250k miles and 100k miles respectively). I don't have the same expectation of this Dodge engine, but when the Ecoboost motor debuted in the F-150 in 2011, I wanted nothing to do with it, turns out I was really wrong and it has been an amazing motor.
Ram fanboys then: “That Ecoboost sounds like crap. A real truck has a V8. No replacement for displacement. What a fail for Ford” Ram fanboys now: “That tt inline six is amazing! See what can be done with turbos. Ram is awesome going to a tt6 instead of a V8!” 😂
Not a single fan of Ram trucks is happy about the i6. Literally no one is happy theyre discontinuing the hemi v8s. If they optioned the turbo i6 and still offered v8s and electrified options everyone would be happy. Its the fact that theyre removing the v8 fom the portfolio thats got everyone pissed. I dont know where youve seen ram fan boys happy about this because its the most controversial thing in the automotive world right now.
You don't mean to imply that they might be being paid off by Stelantis to hype unreliable and vastly overpriced vehicles? Displacement on demand, or whatever it is called on a Hemi, makes that engine a non-starter too. As with GM, lifter collapse, cam death, and then everything else fails when the metal paste gets to the bearings.
@ oh the fanboys are real and praising it. Ram can do no wrong. I separate them from the objective fans that simply appreciate trucks but prefer Ram styling, image, “Hemi” legacy, Cummins, etc. Nothing wrong with preferring one brand over the other; but the fanboys think Ram can do no wrong and were the most “vocal” crowd out there bashing other brands. This inline 6 is true irony. I think they went with an I6 as a marketing strategy because the Cummins is an I6. Apples to turnips comparison though.
@therealjohnsmith4811 its always been marketing. The 426 wasn't a hemi either. It wasn't exactly a half a sphere with no flat spots. The new engine is lightyears ahead in combustion chamber design. A 5.7L if measured at the same gross hp number would only be ~20hp down from the old 426. Who gives a darn.
Because it was 75 when it came out and then all these mf-ers (combo of mfgrs and dealers) started gouging the crap out of everybody. It should be no more than 65k. And that's too much in my opinion for a gasoline 6 cyl truck. They can keep them and rot for what they are listing them at in my opinion. It's a nice truck but not 85K nice.
Glaring omission not to comp to your past Power Wagon test on the same trail and elsewhere in Moab. Especially before declaring the RHO as Ram’s “top dog” off-roading truck. PW has added features of front locker, sway disconnect and winch. RHO is 500 lbs lighter, short bed and shorter wheelbase, and slightly larger OEM tires (although no one seriously off roads a PW without at least 35’s). Oh yeah, PW has that exhaust tip tucked away! And that exhaust actually sounds like a truck. What say you, Andre?
Too bad nobody can bring themselves to build a reasonably priced truck. They cannot sell the 2023s or the 2024s you would think the big 3 would learn they have priced themselves out of most markets.
Cool another 80-90k 1500 truck that no one can afford, or should buy unless you have the cash. Anyone that is buying these and paying over $1000 a month sometimes close to $2000 is nuts. Prior to Covid I use to upgrade my truck every three years, now I will never buy another one, a few years left on my truck to pay off and I'm done.
Excellent video you all!!! Less music and more exhaust notes please. That motor looks tiny in that truck 😂. That motor actually sounds pretty loud but I want that V8 sound!!!!
I understand that the GVWR is set by the manufacturer, and that it’s “boosted” on this model because of the off-road nature of the truck. I still have to wonder why Ram wouldn’t offer the same or similar “boosted” weight ratings across the half-ton lineup, considering the other two of the Big Three offer such increases. Maybe my understanding of it all is simplified.
I have no issues with the twin-turbo inline 6, but if it could have a 392 HEMI V8, that'd be awesome. And no, we really don't need the Hellcat engine anymore, IMHO.
I know pretty much everything is very expensive nowadays, and RAM knows that too. And that is why they named it the RHO - "Ridiculously Highly Overpriced" 😅 😂 🤣 But,,, it is a very nice pickup 👍 💯 😎

Sound of new I6 is much preferable to load growling hemi in my opinion. But, I am one of those people who add additional mufflers to my off road vehicles as I am off-roading not to hear the motor. I also prefer a quiet vehicle everywhere but the race track. love the sound of motor winding out in long straights or on the drag strip. My only complaint about hemi is does everyone need to hear it coming down the road for 2 miles?
3 months ago, I purchased a Brand New 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2 with 35's that has a lot of options to include retractable steps, sun roof, and hard tonneau for $76,000 . Hell, my truck has heads up display and rear locker. 6.6 V8 Gasser too. It's cheaper than this awful sounding Ram. The Ram looks great, but sounds like an old Jeep with an exhaust leak...!!!
Really like the truck, but that exhaust note is pathetic! I would rather they made the exhaust nice and quiet. Sounds like a 1975 Ford Pinto taking off! Exact same issue with the Ecoboost Raptor. If you can't make it sound good... kill the sound! The rest go the truck is sweet!!!

That crow was laughing at the sound of that 6 cylinder. Even it knows. 😂 I can't believe how hideous it sounds. It's an absolutely gorgeous truck ruined by a 6 cylinder. It's a hard pass for me.
I’m not understanding why they dropped V8’s. These turbo engines have to work harder and the mpg is not much better.
Oh, Pickup Plus Tim is missing out on online footage. TFL again posting first.
It's plain and simple... All trucks should have the option of a V8.
RHO or AT4x best in off road?!😮
What is going to stop it will be the cheap plastic parts like the thermostat
It sounds so lame!!!!!!
Awesome video Jen n Andrey..but not hearing that HEMI well thats a killer for moi...the truck is Awesome tho but that sound...me no like
3 months ago, I purchased a Brand New 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2 with 35's that has a lot of options to include retractable steps, sun roof, and hard tonneau for $76,000 . Hell, my truck has heads up display and rear locker. 6.6 V8 Gasser too. It's cheaper than this awful sounding Ram. The Ram looks great, but sounds like an old Jeep with an exhaust leak...!!!
Love the Truck but at least give use the 6.4L hemi
Is it full time AWD ?
Yes
@ you can’t make it RWD at all ?
@@blakemarchand6650it has 2wd 4hi 4low and 4auto basically like awd
@@astralskoll9704 nice !
Andre needs to wear a stress meter 😅.... Did he test the cruise control? No pickup truck should cost more than 45k...
If I had to get one, Id get a lightly used v8 trx
It sounds annoying. I think that would get old pretty quickly
$70k for a 6 cyl that sounds like a generator. Someone’s smoking and not sharing.
85k! Lol these prices are insane. Good luck selling those and with only a V6?
I like the look of the truck but it sounds like a 6 cylinder Jeep.
Theres whistlin diesel care for a new car offroading on one end and andre on the other end.
So funny how ram and chevy made so much fun of the f150 for having a v6 twin turbo and aluminum body now ram only has a strate 6 turbo and chevy is using aluminum on there trucks what a joke ...that's why ford is and always will be the number one truck for sales
Wrong, GM sells more trucks than Ford, both have good engine options including a V8, Ram is dead last sadly
And Ford is still the worst brand on the market. Lots of dumb people out there.
It’s the engine they should have put in a new Dart. Not a truck 🛻
Daum nice looking truck but hate the lap top on the dash and where's the V8 and too pricey.
Can’t get passed that weak exhaust note. Could never afford it either!
Unstoppable when running Unmoveable when waiting on lift for repairs! and unreliable most of of time! with an unsatisfying exhaust note! while being so unaffordable!
They didn't even try to make that engine sound good. Jeep TJs with the 4.0l I6 engines sound far better.
Nice, but it sounds like the mail truck.
