Until The Next Drive Vid...Railfanning (April 1 2021)

- Just as the title suggests...
Will be a bit of a delay in getting the next drive video out, as many parts of it are not up to my standards (tried explaining it in this video) and may have to be re-edited from scratch-and this is with my new 2021 software yet! Fortunately also been editing another video-this time with my OLD 2014 software-and getting better results! Takes somewhat longer to work with but results are well worth it. Until that next vid...
Railfanning...something I don't do as much of these days for several reasons-but would like to get back to. Drove a friend to an appointment, and while they were at their appointment, thought I'd head for the Martin Airport MD station of the MARC trains and see if any action. Just in time! I barely had time to set up as a DC-bound MARC stops to pick up, after which thought I'd stick around and see if anything else happens-and try to explain the delay in the next driving vid. Turns out a couple Amtraks happened.
Nope-haven't retired-just slowed down a little-and trying to figure out why the 2014 software works better than the 2021. My lady and I are fully covid-vaccinated so we'll be traveling again whenever we can. We want everybody to know-all's well on the home front, and we wish the same for our viewers.
As of this post, about a third of the way through editing another video with the better software. Not sure exactly when it'll be completed, but it'll be worth the wait.
Note: might have mentioned covid vaccinations and travel, but we'll still be following the other precautions-masking and social distancing. We recommend the same for any vaccinated viewers-don't abandon the other rules! The vaccine is a supplement-NOT a substitute-to the masks and distancing! Please stay safe!

glad to know you haven't lost your love for trains. been a hard last year, hard 12 months for me. but I am working again. Things like this help my heart and hope. Just looking at the real beautiful simple life of things. Trains, mountains, ducks, etc.,
Trains, mountains, ducks...kinda like those myself! Been a very hard year for me too for various reasons, including hospital visits. Gradually getting back into the swing of things myself. I'm back at work again too, one might say, just at a somewhat slower pace.

I ❤ railfanning, Gus. Anyway, I got Good News & Bad News:
The Good News is that the NEW Bike Rack is already installed.
But the Bad News is rhat U-Haul took a very long time to install it. And those U-Haulers worked about 7 Hours. So unfortunately, my Father & I did NOT leave for Pittsburgh.
Instead, we went cycling at night in Arlington, VA. We started at 10PM & arrived back at 11:30pm. It was very fun. So on Father's Day, we will go cycling in Pennsylvania as promised.
I remember railfanning at the age of 13 when my Father & I were exploring the Camden & Penn lines. It was November & December 2011.
Well, at least you got to do something! I still have my bike rack and can't wait to use it! In Arlington, were you on the W&OD Trail? Ridden that myself at Leesburg!
