    One if my favorite christian bands theyre a BIG reason if not thee reason i became a christian, they entered the deathmetal scene to shed light in the darkness and it worked.

    Had the pleasure of meeting their vocalist, Brook Reeves, on many occasions. I've met many bands in the Christian metal scene and he is without a doubt one of the nicest, Godly, Jesus-loving guys I've ever met.

      Tell that to Christian Monks who have mantras to sing to for God's glory. Now it is man's purpose to interpret it as they will. Here, I see it happening as a way to reach those of us who are in need of a passionate song to speak over those who tell us otherwise.

      I'm a Christian, and a devout metalhead, but I don't like Impending Doom's messages through their music. It veers off into religious extremeism, and disgusts me. Imo, music is an expression, and doesn't need a religious tied meaning associated with it

    Been a fan of this band since Nailed. Dead. Risen. I finally just saw them live a couple months ago and it was so great. Brooke is smiling the whole time, which is crazy to see with a band this heavy. You can see his passion for Christ and it's awesome.

      I kinda lost interest when they went full-fledged deathcore, as that genre is really hit or miss for me. But their first album ‘nailed. Dead. Risen.’ Had a lot more grindcore elements to it.
      That being said, the best part of the video was watching the Pastor get into the breakdown.

    I can remember myself having a great dialogue with my Pastor. Just a glance through the lyrics and he pointed out lots of theology behind this awesome song. Great sharing!

      Reece Wilshire saw them with abr in Toronto two weeks ago and I was with my dad and after he was like "that singer of silent planet is fucked up, every single song was about something negative and a lot on mental diseases" haha great band

    I know how much you like Demon Hunter. Impending Doom has a collaboration with the lead singer from demon Hunter, Ryan Clark. The song is called 'My Light Unseen.'

    I love the lyrics "I am a murderer" there is no level of sin in the eyes of God. Sin is sin and a lie is just as bad as murder in Gods eyes

      Plus, he says “a murder paid it all,” referencing how Jesus was crucified. It was the sins of us all that murdered Jesus, making us all murderers.

    I always interpreted this song as a sinner crying out to God and finally realizing what's coming. In the sinners realization he cries out to God saying "I'm a murderer, please forgive me"

    So Glad you watched this. I've seen Doom 2 times here in TX and they are great. The singer does a mini testimonial during his shows to profess being a christian for 15 years and invites people after the show to meet and greet and talk about any issues they have. He is very friendly and the other guys in the band are great also. Please review some of their other songs.

    Goreship is just a reference to the combination of deathcore and worship. Death metal usually contains gore or violence so the combine the traditional sound of death metal with worship.

    When you talked about the “repentagram” it made me think of one of my favorite Christian metalcore symbols, made by the band Oh, Sleeper. It’s the pentagram with only the bottom 3 points. It represents the horns being cut off of the pentagram, satan becoming powerless under God’s power

    Now that you've listened to Impending Doom, I would strongly recommend A Hill to Die Upon. The song I would most recommend first is Satan Speaks. Check them out on a reaction vehicle; I don't think you will be disappointed.

    I'd highly recommend reacting to their song, Devil's Den, which was written as a prayer of intercession. I'd also encourage juxtaposing their latest release with their first full-length album: Nailed, Dead, Risen. It's mind-boggling how much their style has evolved over the years, while their message has remained the same.

    I'm a Christian, love all music, and metal has always held a special place in my heart. Love the sound and message of this band and God used bands like this to lead me into repentance. Comment about the "repentegram" though, symbols have power, so as Christians we have to be cautious in what we are appropriating. Love you pastor Rob, Keep up the good work! I suggest checking out a band called "Theocracy."

    Hands down, Impending Doom is my favourite band. So glad you guys gave them a listen! Another Christian band I enjoy alot is Broken Flesh. They're pretty guttural but they don't make music anymore unfourtunetly. 😞

    Not all who listen to Christian music are Christians. Some people just like to yell, I am a murderer.
    My dad was relieved that I listened to Lamb of God until I told him they are not a Christian band.
    I listened to Zao for years before finding out they were Christian, when I wasn’t. I just looked them up and they are no longer considered a Christian band, now that I am Christian...

    Glad you guys got to this! I remember way back when Impending Doom began, back in 05' or so, and they're awesome songs "In Reverence Of", "Hell's Holocaust", and "Nailed. Dead. Risen." came out. The artwork for that album is badass. I feel as if the band got lighter in terms of heaviness, but it happens.

    I appreciate you, Pastor Rob. My adopted parents always tried to keep me away from metal because of the same mindset that it's just demonic. I've always had discernment with lyrics, and could never change their minds about the genre very dear to me. Hope other parents are watching, and learning.

    I love you all!! I can say i love music no matter what genre it is that makes me truly fall in love with Christ more!! I finally made my first impending doom show last year in fort worth texas i lost my voice from screaming lol and my body was so sore from jumping and going wild lol.     nice video guys! it's my first video i've found from y'all. the goosebumps are real! i love such a straight forward butt kicking Christian deathcore band existing. they sing about the things i need to hear in a way my ears are conditioned to want to hear it. blessed they're around.

    These guys are awesome. I saw them once and they were amazing and at the end they said "God bless you" to the crowd. I looked at my friend's and asked "did we just see a Christian band?".

    Loved hearing you bust out the "big God" theology in this one! In the handful of videos of yours I've seen in the past, I didn't hear much of that. This video got a subscribe from me ;)
    As a fellow reformed pastor (pretty safe assumption you'd identify that way from this video), I highly recommend checking out Crown of Thorns by For Today. Take it from a guy who thoroughly understands and agrees with what you're doing here-it'll give you a lot to talk about ;)
