Back when weekend tv was worth watching
Hale and Pace were bullshit though!
Back when TV at any time of the day of the week was worth watching
Because we don't have the people for it
Even the adverts were watchable.
Too many channels and all competing against each other therefore if there is anything good not many people find it.

Jeremy Beadle was really a entrepreneur and had lots of success in the 80's, he had the golden touch. I was in my 20's so i watched most of his stuff on tv....RIP Jeremy.

This is me playing obnoxious neighbour, dating agency owner, and unhappy car owner. It was one of the best acting jobs I've done. Almost impossible to keep a straight face to the reactions of the unsuspecting public.
I remember them both back in the day when it was family TV night with my grandparents on Saturday night. Fair play to both you and Jeremy with the car wash prank, I think both of you took one each for the team in that one 😂
Did you do a few restaurant acting jobs in Beadle's about as well?

@@garyblack5592 The crew didn't tell me before the shoot they were going to spray me with water. The reaction is genuine . Very naughty but effective. I did laugh afterwards. I was soaked through head to foot. It was a wonderful show to work on. All the crew were superb.
@@flaviabrilli9954 no worries yes I thought you did. Can't seem to find the restaurant ones but I knew I remembered you in a few. I actually remember my granda always saying you would think some of the participants getting pranked never recognised your faces from the programme, obviously none of them watched it 😂😂

I didn't have a choice. My dad recorded this for me. So it was sent with all the ads intact. But it's fun to see the old ads of that time I think.

He was a wonderful chap to play the prank on. I'm playing the snooty, obnoxious neighbour. My brief was wind him up. There's no script for the actors. We have to make up lines and improvise as we go along. We react to the their reaction and try to think up lines that will provoke and get laughs. It's all shot of course live in one go so no room for actors to hesitate or bluff what they say. It requires great improvisational skills. But I was lousy at learning lines so loved that aspect.
He was a superb character. Totally unsuspecting. And quite bold and bolshy. Couldn't ask for a better member of public to play this prank on. I, Jeremy and the crew couldn't stop laughing.

She certainly was mad, simsimo, the reaction is genuine. I'm playing the dating agency owner. The lady was completely unaware of what was happening. She wholly believed her boyfriend had been cheating on her.

Sorry Steve. My dad put this together for me. I was too involved with the acting to sit down and watch the shows.
Tv was great in the 80s, a good mixture of content including comedy. Now it all sterile, woke, reality tv and game shows. Even the adverts weren’t annoying or patronising.

Watching 'Jeremy Beadles About', on you tube, I'm 73 now, RIP Jeremy, such entertaining TV. Very different to now sadly. However, reaĺly funny. But Health and Safety would not allow many of his shows these days.
