For all those saying this is disrespectful comparing Pun to Big clearly aren't judging off lyrics. As a fan of both I recognized right away Pun was the superior lyricist. For those that know there is levels to this. You got rappers and lyricists. A lyricist is either lyrical or super lyrical. For example Big, Jayz and Kiss are lyrical. Pun, Em and Black Thought are Super lyrical. Basically Super Lyrical is more complex rhymes and metaphors. Lyrical can't beat Super Lyrical which is why Jayz was so outclassed on Renegade. By the way I believe Em would have easily beat Big too. Remember Big was only slightly better on the same track than Jayz whereas the difference between Jay and Em was hugh. Slightly better wouldn't have cut it.

Easy. His rhymes weren't as complex to be super lyrical. I've studied Renegade and Pun's Superlyrical w/ Black Thought and realized their rhyming on another level. Jay-Z is the closest rapper to Big, like MJ and Kobe. If you look at the written lyrics for Jay and Em the rhyme schemes are not even close.

I feel like the reality of it is that not many people really listen to pun they listen to more industry type of music and that’s what P. Diddy did for biggie so it’s like asking what’s your favorite brand of car as a millionaire no one’s gonna say the reliable Toyota/Lexus they’re going with the car that most people don’t have the Bentley or the ghost or something more extravagant because it’s more renowned and more industry favored

big was smooth with his rhymes and story telling. pun was a lyrical genius . in a battle pun would beat biggie but biggie would sell way more records then pun cause he's more pop . it just depends on your style and vibe .to this day that- dead in the middle of little Italy , little did we know we riddle 2 middleman who didn't do diddly- is one of the greatest rhyme schemes ever.big is known as a legend and pun is very underrated.

I can’t say one was “better” than the other. It’s like comparing Kane and Rakim. But I will say this there’s not a big pun beat where anyone could jump on it and say something harder or more clever. That’s a tough one for sure.
