I honestly appreciated you reading out every menu item. I'm one of those who studies menus before dining out and this one saved me time! This was also my first time seeing Miranda on the channel - I really appreciated her description of textures and flavors. And..as always..Quincy will forever be my fave!
Yeah, the $17 eggs didn't really bother me. Most of Disney sit down breakfasts have close to that price point. 🤨 It's the $12 hot chocolate, $25 cake slices, etc for me that are the problem. Especially as those items based on other reviews it appears are not worth that extremely high price point. If I'm paying $25 for a single cake slice then it had better be the best cake slice I've ever put in my 👄. 😏Especially, when you can pay $9 at Gideon's or a little more at Amorette's for delicious 😋 and special baked goods.
As someone from Indiana where this company is founded, people really only go there for special occasions like birthdays or bachelorettes. It’s overpriced for the quality in Indy and I doubt it will go over well in Disney
I understand the point you’re making. I think when people are making plans to go here at Disney World they probably are having a special occasion. I was thinking that when we are planning a Disney World trip we look for a variety of eating experiences and I could very much see taking my little girls for a ladies lunch with me. For us making a trip across the country from the went coast it is very much a special occasion. There has to be a balance for sure and we wouldn’t do a meal like this every day. Time will tell the success of course.
Thanks for a great review. I don’t think the prices are that out of line for today’s times. A McDonald’s breakfast is about 10.00 at the drive through. That certainly makes the 17.00 egg breakfast look like a bargain. The restaurant is beautiful and I am planning to go on my next trip. The cakes are award winning and the slices are huge. Yes they are pricy , but they look crafted with the level of care you would expect to pay that price for . Any breakfast buffet at WDW is going to be just under 100.00 . This is an elevated experience so I feel it’s worth the price. I never saw anyone have the reaction you had to waffles your face looked delighted and shocked. You Guys rocked this .
This video made me so hungry 😂 I’d like to try this place out at least once! As someone who used to live in Toronto for over a decade, many restaurants were around this price range and as long as it’s delicious, I think it would be great for an anniversary date 😊
I wonder if the opulence being much more on display than others tucked into Grand Floridian, etc. makes it such a target even after the price decrease. It is wholly unique in the Disney bubble, which is saying something given the vast array of restaurants!
For people that live in major cities, the prices really are not that crazy. It has a bit of a ladies who lunch vibe. I would go with my Mom or girlfriends for brunch and cocktails. Edit: I am referencing the prices for the actual restaurant food. I do not eat cake or baked goods, so I don’t know how much people normally pay for cake.
I live in a super expensive place, but the savory food seemed reasonable. The drinks were definitely overpriced. Th sweets? Same. I have no idea, because those things are clearly of a quality I’ve never seen. So I really don’t know what a “normal” price would be. I guess whatever people will pay.
I agree. People are paying close to this price to go to Gideons. And here at Bakeshop the quality is high and the quantities seem larger. I’m never at Disney springs so glad this is here.
Thanks for doing this review! Ignore the rude comments about pronunciation, y’all did a good job. I probably wouldn’t ever spend my money at this restaurant, but the branding looks super cute with the light pink, white, and gold aesthetic! It’s definitely out of my budget, and some things are ridiculous in my opinion, but maybe nice for people who want something extra fancy and don’t mind the high ticket
@@alexisdaylynn It wasn’t a rude comment. I, too, thought Miranda did a great job. It was a constructive comment, letting her know that as a food critic she should pronounce the food items correctly in the future. That’s why people were letting her know.
Wow, this spot certainly looks beautiful! Definitely would love to stop there for breakfast one day, and save up to try some of those dessert items -- they look incredible! Thank you Quincy and Myranda for your reviews!
How do raspberries that are not "handpicked" make it into a cake? Everyone else puts their fruit in with a little cake bulldozer? All are put in by hand.
The only reason I might want to go to the Bake Shop is if I were to move to the Orlando area and needed work. I'd want to be a waitress there. Tips on these bills would be great!
I have only had cake and coffee at the Carmel location. I adored it - I was there on a girls' weekend with some old friends and remarked that it felt very Main Street, USA/Magic Kingdom. It definitely has special-occasion/fancy-pants vibes.
Are there gratuities/tips on top of these prices? I mean if you're charging $17 for two eggs, you'd think you could pay your excellent service staff a reasonable wage.
As previously mentioned, this place has a target audience. Customers will ultimately determine if it’s a success or not. It’s gorgeous inside, service appears to be top-notch, menu is pretty creative, so the prices are set accordingly. Overpriced? Sure it is…along with everything else at Disneyland, or a ballgame, or the movies, or a nightclub. Not really buying the manufactured anger and disdain aimed at an eating establishment that no one is forced to patronize. There are plenty of things in the world to be angry at, but high prices at a Disney eatery ain’t one of ‘em.
This target audience is people who are willing to pay more for atmosphere and good food. I am one of those people. If I love an environment, I will pay the price to be there. I don’t plan to go to the Disney parks much next year, but I’ll definitely fly down to resort hop, spend some time with my friends down there, and do the tea service!!!
The restaurant looks amazing! It has such a regal vibe. The food looks delicious. I have my eyes set on the Millionaires cake. I may just drop by on my next trip even though it’s expensive 😅. Thanks for the review! Great work!
I have been to the locations in Indianapolis and Carmel. As someone who eats gluten free, I can say that the gluten free brownies are pretty good. Though, the one time I tried one of their gluten free cakes I was disappointed - it was very basic and kind of dry. Since then, I've been wary of spending the money to try their other gluten free cakes. I can't speak to their other cakes BUT I will say my relatives who do not have gluten free restrictions like them well enough to drop in and pick up individual cake slices to celebrate anniversaries or birthdays
So many haters! Miranda is just southern 😂 give her a break. I do think DFB and AllEars are getting a little lazy with their clear use of “double dipping” on reporting, but I still watch both channels back to back happily as I wish I was sitting in WDW. It’s a Vlog, not national news. Lol
This is a special occasion restaurant. I feel that it's upcharged a little, but it's not as extremely upcharged as it looks. For sure, this is a special occasion restaurant. If you want to do it, budget for it, but this is like Once in a blue moon dining here. It is a place to go to make yourself feel special on an important day, like a birthday, or an anniversary... but I wouldn't be visiting this as a regular thing. I mean, if it's worth it is going to be up to the individual. I might get a serving of cake on a special occasion to go, but I do not like this shop as far as decor goes. Everything being pure white gives me the willies. I don't feel like I would be comfortable eating there. That said, the food looks great. Just use good financial judgement if you want to go.
It’s interesting that reviews I have seen from day 1 or 2 of soft open people agree with this review. After those first couple of days there are a lot of reviews saying cake tasted like it had been frozen. And that the food is on par with Panera. (As in reviews across platforms by SM reporters/influencers and individuals) I’d be curious if your opinions change if you go back in the next few weeks.

I should add two of my Orlando friends have gone and while they thought the food and desserts were “good” they don’t plan to order anything they tried again when/if they go back. Nothing was a standout. And one of them when they went it was early in the evening and they were sold out of gumbo and another item that are on the menu several times. They took video, the restaurant was 1/4 full, nothing should have been sold out that’s so prevalent on the menu.
We stayed at AKL second week of December in 2015 and they had complementary 'African Hot Chocolate' in the lobby. Do they still do that? I remember it being OFF THE CHAIN and I am not usually a 'hot chocolate guy'.
$22 is steep but could easily be shared between 3 and many restaurants would serve you something a third of the size for $7+ for dessert. Is it frowned upon to share cake at the table there? Are you allowed to order a kids breakfast as an adult?
You can get the same size cake at Gideon's for $9 and their cakes are delicious 😋. Their huge cookies are $6 and very shareable while the cookies at the Cake Bake are $7 each and look just like a regular size home baked cookie. The deserts and drinks are very overpriced and from what I've seen from many other reviews Not anything special. The atmosphere seems to be the main "selling point ". So if Grand Floridian vibes and prices are your thing then it looks like you have another option at the boardwalk. The food seems to be priced for the most part like any of the other higher tiered sit down restaurants at WDW. Not my aesthetic personally, but many love the Grand Floridan so it will probably do well.
Great review, but I was so distracted by the noise in the background during the breakfast review - was that a bird making all that noise?? 😂 And I know this is going to add to my nit picky comment, but it’s a pet peeve. I love y’all but if you are going to do a food review please take the time to learn to pronounce the ingredients - it’s groo-yehr cheese. 🧀
Miranda did okay, but please, for the love of disney, learn how to pronounce what you are talking about....the gruyere pronunciation was so off it was getting on my nerves
Not for me and it has nothing to do with price and more to do with the vibe and the menu. I don't mind spending money for a meal, heck my son and I ate at V&A's in the before times and between the two of us it was over $750. Loved it would do it again. I think my problem with the Cake Bake shop is the feeling of "we are going to dress up Mac & Cheese call it something else and charge more for it and by the way, we are going to sprinkle glitter all over things" When they start the afternoon tea, depending on the price, I will probably try that, I loved the one at GF. And the cake? Unless that puppy is served by Chris Hemsworth, Channing Tatum and a young Gerard Butler wearing nothing on top but a smile, I'm not paying $21 for a slice of cake. I'll admit I'm not a huge sweet fan and can only eat a bite or two of most sweet things so the size of those slices were just way too much. Again, it's more about the vibe then the price for me. For what they are charging, I want a small quiet place I can savor my meal. Even at the soft open and not full, I could still hear a lot of background noise and I can imagine if it were full and with kids running around, it would be way louder.
Miranda is very nice, but a few suggestions: 1) Magic bars do not have carrots in them. Read the ingredients in the menu. 2) The cheese is pronounced “gru-year” not “guy-year.” 3) The French confection is pronounced “Mac-ron,” not “Mac-rhone.” But I enjoyed seeing you show all those mouth-watering goodies!
Being the proverbial "bull in a china shop" I worry that this place is not only above my pay grade, but also entirely too fancy for me... give me a puffy pizza, a Coke Zero, and a trash can to use as a table and I'm a happy camper. Haha. Appreciate Myranda, Quincy, and this awesome review... but it's definitely not for me. Respectfully, a picky-on-a-budget eater.
I want to try this so badly but still wayyy over priced. I just don’t see any slide of cake being work 22$ even if Oprah recommends 😂 looks like a gorgeous atmosphere but truly wishing we could get fancy yet affordable 😅😵💫
I can afford to eat at places like this, but I didn't get to that point in my life by eating at places like this. This is something straight out of "Idiocracy." LOVE the idea of a $35 "Po' Boy." 😂 Sorry, not interested.
I find it hilarious people think this place won’t last in Disney. People will just use their credit cards like they do for all of the other over priced stuff.
I don’t get all the hate. Disney is expensive so why pretend like we don’t know the obvious. I’ve seen pricier items in the parks or hotels. And if I’m at Disney, then I will treat myself. That’s the point.
Quartering one single Belgian Waffle and pricing it at $18 is a bold move. "You know those things you get for free and in unlimited supply from hotel breakfast buffets? Yeap, we got'em for ya! $18 please. You're only entitled to 1, but it comes in 4 pieces so it looks like there's more!!"
This is not the AllEars content I’m used to. Quality control on vacation? The WHOLE menu? Mispronunciation of so many things? Also, what happened to honest reviews? These prices ARE high and the channel’s integrity is compromised by saying it’s “a little on the pricey side”. It’s not a little pricey. You should have flat out said, “it’s expensive.” That doesn’t have to mean it’s a poor choice, but let’s be real. 😑
It isn’t that expensive. It is $17 for a whole meal… it’s not just eggs!!! It comes with meat, toast and potatoes. That is average for any breakfast. P.S. This channel is a place where I come to escape work or come home to relax. There is no reason to be rude to these young ladies who make most people’s days better!
I’m really sorry but for being the same team as the Disney FOOD blog, it’s embarrassing how many very common food items are mispronounced. Deteriorates any credibility.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s. But seriously, this is a RUclips review channel for theme park food. This isn’t a Michelin guide review of world class restaurants. I’d take your pompous attitude elsewhere.
I wouldn’t go as far as pompous; I frequently have the same reaction to mispronunciations (you can literally just type the word into googe, especially when it’s like a history video, where a certain person or place is the whole point of the video) . I can’t control my reaction. But I can - and always do - control my urge to type it out in the comments.
When the response to a $12 price tag on a not huge cup of hot chocolate where you mentioned the strawberry tastes artificial is “treat yo’self!” Y’all lose credibility. Is it part of your job requirements with allears to never say anything negative about Disney? Because that’s insane.
If it’s a really great hot chocolate, maybe it IS treat yourself worthy! I often spend a lot on something special and tasty just for the ambiance of atmosphere. It’s clearly not for everyone.
Great hot chocolate with artificial tasting 🍓 flavoring are words that Do Not belong together. 😏For $12 I don't want it to taste like hot chocolate with strawberry nesquik.Even Starbucks has not been so blatant at a cash grab as that. They're putting glitter and stories on their food and charging 💰 for it. Hey, if you like going to the trendy over priced glitter restaurant more power to you, enjoy! I'm sticking with Gideon's for dessert thanks. And for food, I'll stick with Chef Art Smith, Wine Bar George, Trattoria, Narcoosie, Boat House and Topolino's if I'm out of the parks. In the parks we go for Garden Grill, Tusker House, Skippers Canteen, and Brown Derby. But we like a character meal and we typically do 1 a day when we're there.
Thanks for the nice review however it is obvious this is the exact same meal and desserts that other influencers ordered like DFB. This isn’t an unbiased review. Go again and order what you really want!
This video is pretty disgusting to me. The AllEars channel is basically using this video as advertisement for a restaurant that serves over-priced food. It's disgusting.
And I’ll add this: as a young, poor, married couple before Allears did reviews, we found ourselves at Blue Bayou at Disneyland. We didn’t know anything about it other than it was a restaurant with cool atmosphere. We sat down and learned that we only had enough money to split the cheapest thing on the menu which was a ham and cheese jelly doughnut with powdered sugar, oh I’m sorry I misspelled Monte Cristo Sandwich. It was terrible and we felt awful sitting there among all those people who COULD afford it without the money to eat a regular dinner. I so badly wish I had had an Allears review to know what it would be like before putting ourselves there.
I feel like Miranda really shined in this video, idk what it was but her personality just really came out and it was lovely
As a Brit, seeing a pot of tea cost $10 almost made me fall out of my chair 😮💨😅 $8 to add 2 vegan sausages also gave me a coronary

Idc about that price of the egg dish. It’s the $11.99 hot chocolate for me 😂

We would do breakfast. 17 dollars was not outrageous for what she got. The hot chocolate and cakes are an absolute no.
This restaurant belongs at Grand Floridian, not Boardwalk.
Nay we can’t have the nicer things in one area. These resorts are higher priced. Access to walk to two parks.
I wonder if the opulence being much more on display than others tucked into Grand Floridian, etc. makes it such a target even after the price decrease. It is wholly unique in the Disney bubble, which is saying something given the vast array of restaurants!
Just starting this off with my morning hot cider. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this place.
$17 for the waffle plate sounds like a great deal to me. I might actually go there on my Epcot Day.
HEY!!
What’s with all the negative comments?? This was a great video. Excellent, informative reviews.
I get those dishes, but a $20 kids pb&j, $25 cake slice, and a $9 soda is insane.
Same. It’s not even the entrees. It’s the price of drinks and kids stuff is just beyond dumb.
@Kladlze clearly, they don't want kids there, so the insane kids meal prices are essentially a 'child fee'😂
Is the first 'R' in Gruyre 'silent'?... 😂
I won’t be going there a lot with those prices but the food and service is excellent with a gorgeous setting.

Background music and noise is too loud versus the speaking.
This is something straight out of "Idiocracy."
LOVE the idea of a $35 "Po' Boy." 😂
Sorry, not interested.
“Thems better be golden eggs..”
I like the newer faces but she really needs to work on pronunciation of words comfortably. Struggling a bit sometimes
Nope. This place will close in less than a year.
$17 eggs is cheap compared to nyc 😂
Sadly these are the regular diner prices, meaning costs are ridiculous here@@OmegaBahn
Miranda, thank you for holding your camera steady so we can see the menu. Wish i could say the same to Quincy today.
🔥🔥🔥
@@destaniewhittington4855exactly it’s $22 at Kona for there 2 egg meal but it comes with a lot 🤷♂️
I’m really sorry but for being the same team as the Disney FOOD blog, it’s embarrassing how many very common food items are mispronounced. Deteriorates any credibility.
I yelled at the TV every time she said Gruyere. LoL
DFB also reviewed it which was a bit odd having the same footage and similar reviews twice from basically the same team
Such a weird thing to get so angry about
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

It’s Disney. Everything is overpriced.
@@jenniferlawrence9598 I haven't eaten at Blue Bayou in years and am only willing to splurge at Disney restaurants for special occasions.
It's in the same range as the signature restaurants, it's not that bad relatively
