You are so sweet and thanks for watching so quick! Jay is synonymous with PB chocolate desserts and this was worth the $16.99. It was a late night, but we still made it to our day jobs on time this morning :) Running on sugar and pixie dust. I am hoping those spoons were temporary because it didn't meet the aesthetic of the restaurant and wasn't sturdy enough for such a thick dessert!

Sam, I believe you commented with the word "bougie" was dead on. In the restaurant, the ceiling decor/molding reminded me of pre-war apartments in NYC, where I live. The atmosphere wanted to offer you a "white glove" experience. I AGREE with you wholeheartedly about the pricing. Just to compare. For $27.99 (the cost of Sam's half sandwiches), you can get a Katz deli (NYC - Harry met Sally) corned beef or pastrami sandwiches. These sandwiches are piled so high, literally, you can make 2 - 3 sandwiches from them. I think with the Cake Shop pricing, you are paying for the elegant decor, ambiance, their "rent & electric." (LOL) With that pricing, the food & flavors really need to knock your socks off & based on your low enthusiasm, it did not. Thank you for this experience. I really love your variety of choices in restaurants and their foods. See you for the next one. 😊 ❤ 🐶❤

I think ill drop by for a cake slice one of these days. I wish the portions were larger for the price. The cake slices at Gideon's are larger and way cheaper. Interiors looks nice.
The cakes are definitely worth trying and they are shareable. The ingredients are more high quality than Gideon's but I do agree Gideon's cake slice is a great value.

We are staying at Boardwalk for part of our stay in January so I have been waiting for your review, very disappointed with the meal especially the fires. We've had the Millionaire Shortbread at Wine Bar George's quick service window and it's incredible- such a great dessert and happy to see different variations of it. I felt so out of place and feel like I need to find fancier clothes for a brunch visit! Thank you so much for watching.
I'm glad you mentioned why you chose the sandwiches because I would have chosen the short rib or the salmon or things they would have had to cook. Also, it was funny to say the thing to get here is sweets when the name is Cake Bake shop. It's not just you, I mentioned a seafood restaurant I love where I live and the friend said yes, but the corn dog bites are meh. The corn dog bites are meh because that's for a kid that refuses to eat seafood. I don't know. Thanks for the watch.

I was eyeing the Peanut Butter Pie.. now I'm definitely getting it.. did it make it home? My dad's favorite dessert is Peanut Butter Pie so I was thinking about bringing him one back.. I live just 2 hours away so was thinking about bringing an small insulated cooler. Oh! And did you see the $69 Souvenir cup.. it's a Swan. I collect disney sippers and other souvenir cups but I don't think I'll be buying that one.
We did manage to bring some home- thankfully it was later in the day and not too hot out. Your Dad would love the pie and that is so sweet of you to bring him one. I thought popcorn buckets were getting pricey- but dang that Swan is out of my league.

But the fact all of this is more expensive than places I go to already in Los Angeles gives me pause about this feeling a bit more spendy than it needs to be.

I think putting it so close to Epcot where there are so many great offerings is risky business. The desserts are in a league of their own though! Really did enjoy the burrata though- had some leftovers with our lunch and their homemade pesto is incredible. I am hoping brunch wows us a little more!

It seems like they have a huge imbalance between their pastry/bread/cake offerings and all the other food they offer. The baked goods seem to be top tier and worth the price, while the other items are more of an afterthought. They need to step up their game so the quality of their savory dishes matches the desserts, or else seriously think about lowering their prices.
The only Boardwalk splurge for us is The Flying Fish where we love the atmosphere, dinner and desserts. Cake Bake Shop is not our cup of tea at all. Definitely not our style.

I was curious what the reviews would be. I live in Indy and have visited the two other locations and they are very over the top. I think you hit the nail on the head, the bakery items are good, but the rest is meh and it's ALL overpriced. It's high here and even higher at WDW, which we all expected. Some of the cakes are kind of dry. And Gwendolyn is not always particularly very kind or humble, so it's hard to want to support her efforts.
We don't mind paying more for food, we do it all the time on this channel- but it the dinner portion didn't wow us. Thankfully dessert made up for it and it's a stunning establishment. Sad to hear some of the cake is dry :(

Price should NOT be a factor when you are on vacation at a luxury resort, especially at Disney. I can see where we would not go all the time but you’re sitting in a beautiful place eating very well prepared food with quality ingredients . You guys are spot on and I love you to death but on this I have to disagree. How much are the entrees at FLYING FISH? CHEFS TABLE AT V&A WITH PAIRING? Let’s face it life’s expensive and if you are there you make choices based on your budget. I could see this conversation if this bake shop was built at Pop Century but at that resort. It’s right in line.
We definitely indulge in a lot of expensive meals and we come to expect hefty price tags in the Disney bubble. With that being said, if I thought the food was above average I wouldn't mind the price. My sandwiches were incredibly weak, and Les Halles in Epcot has better for half the price. I do agree the atmosphere is unmatched and you are paying for that elegant environment and superior service. The pricey desserts are worth it, some of the absolute best and you can taste the quality ingredients and the portions are shareable, which helps justify the cost. Very interested in trying out the brunch options and the tea time. We aren't writing this place off, just for us the dinner portion didn't wow us. We appreciate your comment and insight :)

The bread was good but everything else on the plate fell flat. Definitely not worth the price in our opinion 😕.

Price should NOT be a factor when you are on vacation at a luxury resort, especially at Disney. I can see where we would not go all the time but you’re sitting in a beautiful place eating very well prepared food with quality ingredients . You guys are spot on and I love you to death but on this I have to disagree. How much are the entrees at FLYING FISH? CHEFS TABLE AT V&A WITH PAIRING? Let’s face it life’s expensive and if you are there you make choices based on your budget. I could see this conversation if this bake shop was built at Pop Century but at that resort. It’s right in line.
We definitely indulge in a lot of expensive meals and we come to expect hefty price tags in the Disney bubble. With that being said, if I thought the food was above average I wouldn't mind the price. My sandwiches were incredibly weak, and Les Halles in Epcot has better for half the price. I do agree the atmosphere is unmatched and you are paying for that elegant environment and superior service. The pricey desserts are worth it, some of the absolute best and you can taste the quality ingredients and the portions are shareable, which helps justify the cost. Very interested in trying out the brunch options and the tea time. We aren't writing this place off, just for us the dinner portion didn't wow us. We appreciate your comment and insight :)
