Very nice and easy to understand video. Wat spary u used for oil and oil sensors cleaning etc. Can we use wd40 for cleaning surfaces or kerosene oil, widely use here by mechanics to clean surfaces. Thanks for help
Great video! Any leaks after the repair? I´m on the same boat, hit a stone and the oil pan broke... At the replacement parts diagram, appears like a sealeant tube that I don´t know if it´s needed to order or not, knowing that it already needs a rubber gasket..
Indeed there was a leak afterwards from the drain plug that came with the new pan. But all good now after putting in a new plug. If you are looking at a general parts diagram you might see extra parts that would apply to other models. Note the 2.0L engine had a few different variants with different engine codes (car in video is CHHB). But from what I remember from looking at the parts diagram based on the VIN number and engine code of this car there was no sealant tube and no mention of using extra sealant in the repair procedure. Good luck
@ZakiGarage thank you, I've been recommended a aluminium one but from what I understand that will require rtv to be used instead of a gasket. I'm sure either will be fine but keeping the car oem is preferred if I can help it?
@@elwynll I don't have much experience in the matter, but from what I see online is the plastic sump is a common failure that you'll be replacing it every 5-10 year. Personally, I hate RTV seals, they are a lot harder to replace than a gasket.
Thanks. There are different engine codes on these mk7 and probably with different part numbers. This is an CHHB engine usually on German made GTIs not found on US market GTIs. So always check parts using your own vin number. Are these parts right? Well I hope so, oil pan from vw shop based on vin number and bolts from the dealership. And we didn't get fitment issues.
One of the best videos of this change out there by far. Thanks man! Doing mine this week and following your steps
Thx , and good luck on the install
That chiropractor work at 5:04 👌🏽
Best proffessional video.
Thanks
You’re awesome just saved me a ton of research!
Why did you choose plastic again instead of metal? Is there a reason why?
Hi. Can you do a video of replacing timing chain upper cover

I use brake cleaner. Don't think wd40 would clean well. Seen shops use petrol fuel for cleaning but never kerosene.
Zaki. I am in gulf my gti 2016 oil temperature went up to 120 c. In afternoon. Is that normal
@@MuhammadRaza-qc5nn I'm not very familiar with this GTI but 120 does sound very high, would get it checked.
@ZakiGarage thanks for reply. If u got any information about this temp. Or maximum temp. Please share. Thanks already liked and subscribed
@@MuhammadRaza-qc5nn Np . One thing to add, oil temp is different from coolant temp. And I think they can be different temps on some cars.

Great video.
Does the new sump come with a gasket? or did you need to put anything inbetween the block and the new sump?
Thanks
Thanks , This sump came with its gasket. I would still check if the gasket is included if buying another brand.

Great video. You sure that’s the right part number for the pan bolts? Seem to not fit mk7.

Ok. Thanks.
What did you use to remove the excess oil from the old gasket and oil sensor?
Brake cleaner
Why would you replace plastic again with plastic? Nobody in their right mind would want a plastic oil pan.
