Hi, I have some questions, I hope you can answer them, first one is, after you erase all the info, when you try to set up your iPhone, it asks you to connect to WiFi, is there an option to connect to mobile data instead of WiFi? (I got my phone already setup so I didn’t do that) how long did it took to complete the process of re -storing the device? I don’t have WiFi right now so that’s why I’m kind of worried about doing this since I don’t know if the phone will work after resetting it. Thx

What if I erased everything before turned off my phone location? How does it affect the reset procedure?

I got an iPhone XR for Christmas. My grandson backed up my old phone 8 and then set up my new phone. If I do a factory reset on the 8 will it do anything in the cloud that would erase data on my XR? It might sound silly to you techies, but I just want to make sure I won't have a problem. Thanks.

Murtaza Nayyar you can’t downgrade several versions though. Even if I wanted I wouldn’t be able to downgrade to iOS 8 for example.

I’m getting a refurbished iPhone for a friend of mine, and I will have to start it up and see if it works and if the battery is good enough before I send it to him( he can’t afford one nor a battery replacement if needed). So I wonder will it need a full setup and me logging in my Apple ID there in order to reach the battery health status. And if I do need to log in, and set it up as mine,then should I first log out my Apple ID and then reset it,obviously won’t need the backup. Or if it will let me skip all personal settings in order to just see the health,and then should I reset it anyways ...

Casey did you use the same iCloud when u got back in it? Sometimes it restores everything (apps, messages, browser history)...I think it gives you options
You don't need to manually disable Find My iPhone. It automatically does that when detaching from your account.

If you reset your iPhone, is the IOS version also affected?
for all the people who have this problem due to wifi and bluethooth that once activated make the phone loop but not with the data connection I will tell my experience: apparently the phone seems to work with data connection but once wifi is activated o bluethooth enters a loop this is due to the fact that the part where the sim compartment has been wet by a jet with high pressure for a prolonged time (if you are people who use it often in the shower I would not be surprised by this problem ) and this damages an important part of the phone that activates wifi and bluethooth if this is your problem the phone needs to be changed as it is irreparable and the apple warranty does not cover this damage but only the normal warranty if you are scared you can check if it is your case in a simple way: the part that activates wifi and bluethooth is white and if you remove the sim and look inside the phone, look for a beam re red if you don't see it there hope if you see it I'm sorry but the phone is to be thrown away
